@seekingbabyk what does 4BC mean in terms of the embryo? My clinic didn't use those grades so not sure xx

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:13

@Imisscoffee2021 yes I'm just really hoping for some positive news tomorrow. Surely out of 8 a couple could pull through for us! So they are graded 1-5 for quality and then the inner cells a-c and outer cells a-c. Ours is in the poor quality stage unfortunately. Pregnancy can occur but rates are lower.

There's nothing I can do to change it right now either which is so frustrating but just have to accept it is what it is now and stay positive x

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:14

A 4BC is a slightly more developed blast (in terms of being on its way to a hatching blast) than the 3BC I had transferred on Thursday.

My clinic describes an A or B as high quality, and a C as average quality. (They wouldn’t freeze anything with a D which is poor quality.)

The most important letter is the first one, as these are the cells that go on to make the baby. The second letter are the cells that go on to make the placenta. So a 4BC is better than a 4CB for example.

I think it’s great to have one precious embryo in the freezer @seekingbabyk and I have everything crossed that you get another one or more tomorrow! 🫂

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:16

Awww thanks @Decaffe - so is a 4 better than a 1? You've made me feel much better it's just such a head fuck this whole process to go from 9 to one seems ridiculous

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:16

My clinic described my 3BC as a “high to average” blast on Thursday. They wouldn’t freeze anything they thought was poor quality or wouldn’t have a shot @seekingbabyk 😊

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:16

@Decaffe thank you ❤️

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:17

Yes a 4 is better than a 1! I was really hoping mine might have carried on developing from a 3BC to a 4BC after being defrosted as I read that sometimes happens.

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:19

Found this.

Actually feeling a lot better right now about the little one we have. I thought 1 was good and 5 bad so was losing hope completely! Thanks for clarifying @Decaffe

Just need all the positive thoughts now for our little ones still cooking 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:23

At stage 4 it means that they can start to see the thinning of the Zona Pellucida which is really important. Honestly I know it feels crap to go from nine to (at this stage) one, but, you have a couple more chances tomorrow and - I am going to be that annoying person (sorry) - who says it only takes one (I did say sorry 😆). Big hugs xx

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:24

@Decaffe thank you ❤️

God I love this group 🥰

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:25

Cross post! There we go 😊

Oh gosh no, nothing to lose hope about on that front at all!

I am sending EVERY positive thought!

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:28

Aw me too! You’re all the best ❤️ What are you up to today @seekingbabyk, do you have anything nice planned?

So I am 3dp5dt this morning (with the aforementioned 3BC 😁). I have had no twinges or cramping or anything whatsoever, despite being on high alert!

This morning I did an easy@home which has come out positive. I did another one, then a Wondfo, both very negative. I am leaning towards the first one being faulty? Can this happen?

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:32

@Decaffe I'm going to put the tree up - sod it! Need some Christmas cheer!

That sounds really really positive. Im not 100% sure tbh but I've not really heard of faulty tests.

Ultimately the first one would have been your first pee of the day so should have the best chance of detecting the hcg. Any after that are more watered down I think so it could be that's why the next ones are negative.

I believe from day 5 you can usually get a positive so really hoping and praying for you that this is it!

Imisscoffee2021 · 27/11/2022 09:37

@seekingbabyk aw bless you I didnt realise you thought 4 was bad, I knew 5 was best and 1 was lowest but wasn't sure about the letters that follow. Glad you're feeling better about your frozen one and hopefully another 3 tomorrow! Xx

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:39

@Imisscoffee2021 thank you! I think I just immediately went to that's bad - thinking about it now I think I probably knew that but just tend to think the worst with this ivf stuff.

Just said to hubby I wonder if they'll let me in there to give them a little encouraging pep talk if I go up there lol x

Imisscoffee2021 · 27/11/2022 09:40

@Decaffe got fingers crossed for you, do you have any early response first response? That's where I got earliest bfp, I found the easy at homes took a bit longer! Fingers and toes crossed! X

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:41

They were all from the same pot 😳 that’s what I don’t understand! I am leaning towards it having to be a faulty one. It’s only 3dpt and I haven’t had any womb-related symptoms at all! Just sore boobs and somewhat looser 💩 but that’s just the progesterone.

Will hope for some twinges today!

Christmas tree plan sounds marvellous!! 🎄 Wonder if I can tempt DH to do the same, we’re solid ‘1st December’ only usually!

Imisscoffee2021 · 27/11/2022 09:42

@seekingbabyk it's such a good sign that 3 are early blast, they're clearly on their way so hoping for a lovely phone all for you tomorrow, and no matter what you have a frozen embaby, and it really does only take one!

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:43

I think that’s totally understandable, I think everyone posting in here is simply primed for bad news for anything related to their fertility. So I completely understand why you would have thought that.

Imisscoffee2021 · 27/11/2022 09:43

@seekingbabyk apparently slower developing blasts are statistically girls, and faster are usually 70% boys, you may just have some calm girls there who need a little but more time :)

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:45

@Decaffe we're usually 2nd as hub's birthday is 1st so he says it has to be after that but with us going away it's going to be a rush and I feel like I'm allowed some slack at the moment lol so I'm using it to my advantage!

That's so weird with the tests but you have to think it must have picked something up. I can understand it being faulty the other way and giving a false negative but I think this could detect something. Keeping everything crossed for you that the little embaby sticks x

Decaffe · 27/11/2022 09:46

I do have one in the cupboard somewhere, but they have been absolutely evil to me in the past with fake second lines, I can even see them fresh out of the packet. So I tend to just use the 10iu ones these days. Hmm.

Actually, I’ve thrown away my FMU pot now so I’ll guess I’ll have to wait to see what tomorrow morning brings!

seekingbabyk · 27/11/2022 09:47

@Imisscoffee2021 wow that's really interesting! Actually put a huge smile on my face! Come on little girlies!!

Yes, this is what the research says! I think of my 3BC as a girl too!
