@Imisscoffee2021 thanks so so much! Let's see how long it takes before my anxiety goes sky high again.. I'm sure I'll find something to worry about now 😅. On a side note, my clinic said to stop lubion when my prescription runs out, which is on Friday, I'll be about 8 weeks then, but to continue pessaries until 13 weeks. She said my body should be producing enough of its own, so I won't need the extra progesterone. I really hope that's true.

Yay! So happy for you @Tinkerbell098 I'd also been checking in like the others, really hoping this is the news you had. Over the moon for you, play on the lovely sound of the heartbeat - and hope you can relax a little and enjoy the rest of the week! 💕💕

Imisscoffee2021 · 24/01/2023 17:32

@Tinkerbell098 clinic will know their stuff but I think it just depends on the clinic, mine said take til 12 weeks which was so expensive! But I was glad to do it just in case as I have naturally low progesterone. I still do pessaries as I over ordered so just doing one every other day as a placebo as my clinic said the placenta is formed at 12 weeks approx so then will be making own progesterone. Can always query it with them if worried or get a progesterone test? If you've not had low progesterone issue before then clinic is most probably right, they want this to succeed too! Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 24/01/2023 17:53

@MinBins thanks so much! Can't wait for your scan now X

@Imisscoffee2021 I'm not aware of any progesterone issues, and they did check my levels the day of my transfer (although I never got told what the levels were). They said they never used to add on Lubion, but they changed the protocol for everyone to add lubion for frozen cycles as an extra precaution. I'm just going to take their word for it. I may up my pessaries to three a day for a couple of weeks and slowly wean off, as I've got way more pessaries than I need.

Does anyone currently have to pay for Utrogestan 200? PM me if so…

seekingbabyk · 24/01/2023 19:19

Awwww that's amazing @Tinkerbell098 it must be such a relief! So so happy for you! Hopefully you can relax a bit more now!

Keeping everything crossed for tomorrow @Decaffe - how you feeling now? Are you still sore?

Honeybunie · 24/01/2023 20:31

Aaawwww that’s absolutely fabulous news @Tinkerbell098 so very happy for you 😃 I thought it’d be good news since you had no symptoms at all 😉 just amazing ❤️
All the very best for your day 3 call tomorrow @Decaffe crossing all fingers and toes for loads of top quality embryos 😍

Decaffe · 24/01/2023 21:34

Thanks all, I have kept myself busy today but now starting to think about the phone call in the morning...!

MinBins · 25/01/2023 09:19

Hope todays call goes well @Decaffe!

Eek very nervous @Tinkerbell098 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Decaffe · 25/01/2023 09:25

I have so much to do today and really need to get started but am sitting by the phone! 😅

Decaffe · 25/01/2023 10:01

I don’t think this is as good as I had hoped for.

Two are 8 celled (grade 1)
One is 7 celled (grade 2)
One is 6 celled (grade 3)

The rest have been judged a grade 4 with only 4 or 5 cells. 😔

Last time, my 6 cell didn’t make it, my 7 cell ended up being a 3BC (not the best), the 8 cell was transferred on day 3 so don’t know if it would have made day 5.

I feel I had hoped for more in the running at this stage as I know there’ll be further attrition between today and Friday. Hmm…

Decaffe · 25/01/2023 10:16

Maybe I just need to reframe this. I’m very nearly 40. If we could get three in the freezer that would be bloody amazing. It’s ok 😊

ralno2 · 25/01/2023 10:40

Morning All,

I just had my first tracking scan this morning - I have only been on Menopur 300iu for 4 days. I think they accidentally brought me in a day early because I had to wait a day as they found a cyst on my left ovary so on their system I was day 5.

They have said I have 4 follicles in total between 7-9mm - is this normal for day 4 on Menopur? I am waiting to here back from the doctor this Afternoon.

Having only 4 follicles has worried me - although I was expecting it to be low as my AMH was on the low side and my antral follicle count was 6.

Has anyone conceived starting with just 4 follicles at this stage?

Honeybunie · 25/01/2023 11:46

@Decaffe I’m sorry you didn’t quite get the news you were hoping for but I think two grade 1 is amazing! And yes grade 2 is good to transfer too and may well be the one 😊 and like you said if you get 3 to transfer that’s amazing 😊

seekingbabyk · 25/01/2023 12:10

Hi @Decaffe - the way I see it is that they are all still in the running just at various stages. My clinic don't do a day 3 so I've nothing to compare to but it sounds like you have 4 good contenders for blasts and I would have been over the moon with 4! Remember that they wouldn't actually freeze anything that's not viable so even a 3BC has a chance of working. In fact if you type into google 3BC blast, you will see lots of stories of successful pregnancies with them. I really get it - we had 9 fertilised and only got two blasts so I know that feeling when you get that call but don't overthink it at the moment. Your next call is Friday?

@ralno2 sorry you're worrying. Can you remind me of your situation? Are you private or nhs? And how many rounds do you get? Sometimes the first one is a bit of a practice run to see what works for you. You can definitely get an increase now in the follicles though so don't give up yet. Also even if there are only 4, if they are all mature and good quality you could still end up with a few blasts x

Honeybunie · 25/01/2023 15:43

Jesus I just found out that we have NHS funding for two full IVF cycles. And I always thought a transfer counts as a cycle, and we had two transfers by now. I was wondering why nobody said anything about changing to private when I had my follow up consultation. and I was already ringing the private patient line OMG how stupid of me 🙈🙉🙊hope I haven't accidentally cancelled my funding in the process 😝FFS 😂

Hello! Thank you for replying @seekingbabyk

We have gone private as the NHS do not offer IVF on my area unfortunately. This is my first round so I’m completely new to everything. I have endo and my partner also has a low morphology so we are opting for ICSI.
im reading so many different forums that I’ve ready 10-15 follicles is normal - but I suppose as long as all 4 mature

seekingbabyk · 25/01/2023 18:54

@ralno2 Yes try to focus on positives. Sometimes certain medications are better for some people so it might be they swap you on to something else for your next round. Also your follicles are quite small at the moment so it could be there are more going to appear in a few days - you might just have a longer stims duration or something?

Don't be worried about asking questions in there too - especially as you are paying I was asking lots of questions but the nurses were great so don't be shy!

seekingbabyk · 25/01/2023 18:58

@Honeybunie that's great news! So you have had one full cycle including all transfers? And so you'll get a second full one too? Or is it one transfer per cycle you get? I think some do one fresh and one frozen x

Honeybunie · 25/01/2023 19:38

@seekingbabyk yes i had one full cycle with stims resulting in 2 embryos and then one fresh and one frozen transfer. so I stupidly thought that's it. But nobody in my clinic could tell me where I stand with the funding right now and nobody mentioned anything about funding or going private. they are ready to make a new drugs appointment with me in 3 months time, after we've been on the supplements long enough. so I did some more digging today and for where I am we get two full cycles. it says: "Women who are aged less than 40 years and who meet the access criteria are entitled to up to two cycles of IVF with or without ICSI" and "A full cycle of IVF treatment, with or without ICSI, should comprise one episode of ovarian stimulation and the transfer of any resultant fresh and frozen embryo(s)." So hopefully I get more than 2 embroys next time and we get all the transfers paid for and it'd be amazing if we were successful then😊xx

seekingbabyk · 25/01/2023 22:33

That's great news @Honeybunie - we are private and bought a 3 cycle package which is 3 rounds and unlimited transfers. Feel like you're going to be going through it the same time as me x

Honeybunie · 26/01/2023 10:29

@seekingbabyk yes I think we'll be close :) how do find having to wait a bit now and take supplements? It has taken quite a bit of pressure off me. I always stressed thinking I'm getting older every month and we have to hurry up, but now it's like a break that we're allowed to take and actually need to get healthier. it's nice to get a bit of distance from it all and just live for a bit like before xx

Tinkerbell098 · 26/01/2023 11:54

@Decaffe don't be disheartened by the day 3 results. You've still got 3 good ones that have potential to make blasts and the fact that they're still going is a great sign. All the best for tomorrow's call. Having 3 in the freezer would be amazing X

@Honeybunie amazing news you've got funding for another full round. Enjoy the break from IVF and you can feel refreshed for the next round X

@seekingbabyk have you started your supplements now?

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 26/01/2023 20:25

@Tinkerbell098 @Honeybunie

Yes I'm ok really with having a couple of months gap. We just arrived in Egypt this afternoon so just going to enjoy some down time and then fingers crossed go for it end of March. Will be over my birthday unfortunately but just want to get it done now!

Supplements going ok but having really bad insomnia. Going to bed early but can't sleep until 1-2am and so only getting 5-6 hours a night. Spend all day tired then getting the same when back in bed! So frustrating and I actually missed yesterday as we had an early flight this morning so wanted to be able to sleep! 8 weeks works out exactly to my end of March cycle though so feels like it's meant to be.

You feeling happy now @Tinkerbell098 or has the worrying kicked in! I forgot about the whole wondering if it was twins thing too! Is your next appointment your 12 week nhs? Or will you book a private scan between?
