@seekingbabyk yes you can use both forms of CoQ10. Like @Tinkerbell098 said, Ubiquinol is the more natural form so 95% of what you take is guaranteed to get absorbed by your body. The book says ubiquinone is not very soluble and so much of it is not absorbed, so you need to take a higher dose. Ubiquonol is more expensive, but you might actually get better value out of it as your body absorbs more of it. so the book says take 400mg of ubiquinol or 600mg of ubiquinone. So I've now put myself on 200mg ubiquiol in the morning and 200mg in the evening.
the Biovea one says ubidecarenone on the back and that is ubiquinone I think. What dose did they say you shoudl take @seekingbabyk ?
I bought this one: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LFVDK1E?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 2 a day is only 15 days, so very expensive, but there we go

Honeybunie · 12/01/2023 09:30

Thanks for the link @Tinkerbell098 those are actually much better value. I think the ubiquinone I have I might give to OH now. The ubiquionol capsules are so big, he doesn't want to take them, he's really bad at swallowing pills 😂

Honeybunie · 12/01/2023 09:33

This is what I’ve worked out for myself 😄 I also ordered some R-alpha lipoid acid as recommended in the book

@Honeybunie @Tinkerbell098 aww thanks ladies! It's actually like a full time job/qualification getting your head round all of this lol. I'm sure they said 400 so must be the same one - need to read the email again once tablets come! Just ordered the book too.

How are you feeling now @Tinkerbell098 ? Did you book your private scan?

@MinBins what about you? Do you think you'll hold out for the clinic scan?

Did you get your results back from your bloods @Imisscoffee2021 ?

Jesus Christ @Honeybunie they're huge! Like bigger than the pessaries!

Honeybunie · 12/01/2023 10:30

@seekingbabyk I know 😂😂most of them have a nice coating so they're easy to swallow. The Vit c is the worst one. If you miss to swallow straight away, they roughen up and you're screwed 😂
I got my period today btw. Wasn't much of a wait luckily and I could figure out when I could start again. I might have to wait until June. Got a few things in work in May that I need to be available for. It might not be pleasant being on Stims and having to go in to work, which is 3h away and the stress of it, so June might be better.
@Spin101 I did two peloton 10min taster sessions yesterday. the yoga was okay although a bit rushed, but that's probably because it was a 10min video.. did a gluts/legs one.. nearly killed me and i got a muscle ache today. I'm so unfit 😂

Honeybunie · 12/01/2023 11:00

Jeeezzz I just rang my clinic to check what I need to do to go from NHS to private funding. It's almost like my consultation last week doesn't count. I need to see a private consultant first now, and those have a 4-6 week waiting list too. Well good job I do have time anyway. On the plus side, I can choose one consultant and they will stay with me for the whole process. I only need to buy the 2 cycle package just before starting the IVF cycle again. and pay £115 for the private consultation now

Tinkerbell098 · 12/01/2023 11:42

@seekingbabyk OH wants to wait for the clinic scan, he doesn't want to go to a private one. He's more optimistic than I am. I am very eager to go this weekend, but don't want to not have him at the first scan as I'd love to be able to share it with him (assuming it's all good news). He says so far, everything has been positive, so there is no reason to believe something is wrong. I guess he doesn't spend too much time googling every single thing like I do 🙈! I think my biggest worry is around me not having any symptoms, but I know that it's still quite early and a lot of ladies go through entire pregnancies with very minimal symptoms. I just have to stay positive and keep busy for the next 12 days until I go for the scan.

seekingbabyk · 12/01/2023 11:54

@Tinkerbell098 yeah I really understand where he's coming from. It's hard for us because it's our bodies so obv if it didn't work (fingers crossed everything is perfect), you kind of need to prepare yourself for what's coming. But it's really good he has that positive and optimistic attitude towards it. And with those numbers I would imagine he's probably right!x

MinBins · 12/01/2023 13:01

Oh @Honeybunie those are the ones I took, they're huge, but go down easy compared to my multivitamin ones.

@seekingbabyk My clinic scan is usually at 6 weeks, they didn't do a blood test and said we'll go straight for scan. After that they refer to NHS midwife if it goes well.

It's on the 1st Feb (7 weeks) and I just feel like I'm in a bit of a limbo till then. I was wondering whether to do a private blood test or just wait.

@Tinkerbell098 I don't have any aside from waking up slightly hungry. Also couple of my friends had zero symptoms and had healthy pregnancies. I've heard it's a gender indication of whether you get morning sickness or not. But again, it's via google and hearsay from family and friends.

I asked my OH to get a digital test and he said "we have the scan in a few weeks" 🙄 also he forgot the scan date and I wish I had the luxury to forget scan dates. 😂

Imisscoffee2021 · 12/01/2023 13:02

@Tinkerbell098 I've been to several scans alone and it is odd when you see the ladies with their partners, so I know how you feel. Hope your clinic scan isn't long now!

@seekingbabyk yes the NHS tests came back after 6 days, after they told me 4 weeks and I paid 370 quid for a private NIPT!
They're all low risk bit downs syndrome one is 1:580 whereas the others are 1:100,000, so im glad i have NIPT judt to double check downs, it's not useful to compare but my friend my age had 1:50,000 chance for downs so mine just seems high despite being low risk. My bhcg is slightly high, they want it to be 1MoM and mine is 3 but the letter says no further action needed and I'm low risk!
Was a relief as they said they'd call within a few days if bad news so when I saw the letter was already here I had a heart stopping moment!

Tinkerbell098 · 12/01/2023 13:22

@seekingbabyk hope everything's fine this time. Yes I was pleased with the hCG levels.

@MinBins depends on whether you can hold out until the 1st or not. I'm waiting for the clinic scan as I mentioned because OH doesn't want to get a private scan. It's interesting how our OH's look at it in a different light to us isn't it. I'm like a nervous wreck, but in his head, everything's fine and two weeks is nothing to wait.

@Imisscoffee2021 oh wow that is very fast! Glad everything's low risk. what is deemed high risk for Down's? Are you well below it? I'm sure everything's fine, otherwise they would have flagged it. It's easy to say don't over analyse it, because I'm sure I'd be the same. I'm still all over google with my high hCG LOL! Does this mean you'll be telling family soon? Have you got the gender result yet from the private tests?

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 12/01/2023 13:38

@Tinkerbell098 high risk is 1:150 and below so I'm quite far from that, but it's disheartening when people get in the tens of thousands away!

The private test isn't in yet, expecting it by next Tuesday so I've got a note in my calendar to call parents then, separately as they're divorced so will take ages 😅

Tinkerbell098 · 12/01/2023 13:48

@Imisscoffee2021 yea, your result is quite far from being high risk, so I wouldn't worry about it. Aww not too long to break the news! Bet you can't wait X

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 12/01/2023 15:06

@Imisscoffee2021 aww I'm glad everything came back as fine for you. It will be good to get the second set back too and see if they are the same results. I think the NHS is under so much pressure at the moment they are just giving the worst case so if anything changes it's only good news!

@MinBins I always find January really drags anyway so dread to think how hard it must be for you and @Tinkerbell098 at the moment both wishing it would speed up lol!

MinBins · 12/01/2023 15:56

I'm busy with work @Tinkerbell098 so it keeps my mind off things (a little bit) but I find myself over analysing everything and twinge. Ooff I think I'll wait. I think. 😅

When is your scan scheduled for with the clinic?

@Imisscoffee2021 im glad everything came back okay for you! That's reassuring, and hope everything goes well with the other results you're waiting on! 🙌🏼

@Honeybunie it's going slowly for sure!

Tinkerbell098 · 12/01/2023 17:08

@seekingbabyk it's really draaaging! Last week wasn't too bad as I was really busy with work. This week's a different story! Can't believe it's only Thursday still!

@MinBins scan's scheduled for the 24th 😀

Spin101 · 12/01/2023 20:45

@Honeybunie ah I’m glad you tried peloton. I do think the yoga classes feel rushed. Sometimes I pause if I want to hold a pose for longer, not ideal but it works. I haven’t done a strength class in months but remember the last glutes and legs one I did left me very sore!
Does your NHS clinic do private treatment too? Is there anywhere else close by you could try or are you happy to wait whilst upping supplement intake?

MinBins · 13/01/2023 11:18

Ah fab! That's the week after next - exciting @Tinkerbell098!

@Spin101 I have peloton too, the classes are fab, especially the guided jog and walks x

I can't wait till the weather picks up again so we can go on longer outdoor walks. Ive tried Asana Rebel for yoga which is nice, and Calm app (work supplies this due to the nature of work) and I've found the meditations really help.

Decaffe · 13/01/2023 11:43

Hi all, just had my day 5 scan and there are nine follicles which is good (for me).

Still waiting for the RIF blood test to come back.

Feeling quite guilty because work is so pressured at the moment and my manager isn’t really being very supportive. So I’m feeling very stressed, working overtime and getting little sleep. Gentle exercise is but a distant dream at the moment!

So pleased things are going well for you @Tinkerbell098.

Imisscoffee2021 · 13/01/2023 12:12

@Decaffe wonderful amount! And I understand feeling like that about work, I love my job and my boss is brilliant so felt guilty for time off but this is the most important thing we'll ever do really x

@Tinkerbell098 glad you have your scan booked! Bet every day is so slow til that pops up in diary!

I just got my NIPT results, they give you either a yes or no result, no trisomy result is 1:10 000 and I got it for all of them! And also found out ... its a boy!

Tinkerbell098 · 13/01/2023 13:44

@Decaffe that's a great follicle count. Sorry work's been crazy. Hope it will ease off soon. Are you planning to transfer this round or wait until your results are back and do a FET?

@Imisscoffee2021 aww yey for NIPT results. That's great everything's fine. What a relief! aaand a boy?? wow that is amazing!

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 13/01/2023 13:49

@Decaffe awww that's great news! When will your next scan be?

@Imisscoffee2021 awwwwww that's AMAZING! Have you told your parents now? Or will you still wait until next week? Was you OH there when you got them?

Imisscoffee2021 · 13/01/2023 14:10

@Tinkerbell098 @seekingbabyk thank you! I'm torn between calling my mam tonight or tomorrow day time, my dad will be out at his Friday night meet up with his mates so I'd have to tell him tomorrow anyway.

I got the email at work and couldn't wait to check the trisomy result so opened right away and saw gender so as usual you ladies know before my husband 😂 I'm excited to surprise him, when we first started TTC and I naively thought it would be easy, I had big plans for revelations, even nought a little onesie that said hello daddy . Threw that away in Feb 2021 when we found out about the MFI as was just a reminder every time I saw it. So, this is the next best thing :) we thought it'd be a boy and already had a name picked out, and could never agree on a girls name so perhaps was meant to be :)
