@seekingbabyk yeesss a rooftop bar overlooking Manhattan on a hot summer's night is something else.. do it 😃

@Tinkerbell098 thank you 🤗yeah the embryo I had put in this time was a 5BC. The first one was a 4BB. The first looked better as you could see the outlines of cells. The second was more like one lump. I know it might still be alright, so there is a chance. Just the first looked so much better. shame it didn't make it. that's why I'm thinking no fresh transfers if I have to do it again. What was your grading for the last and this one?

Thanks @MinBins 🤗is this your second IVF cycle? So you'll be having your EC straight after the Christmas break? I assume you'll have a scan at some point too which shouldn't be during the Christmas period?

MinBins · 08/12/2022 10:17

Ah thanks @seekingbabyk I've not been scanned yet but hoping it will all be okay for day 3.

It's my 1.5 cycle 😂 my first one was paused in October as I may have been on a lower dosage (Meriofert 125ml) and didn't have enough matured for egg collection. This time on Bemfola and on double dosage (think 300ml).

Meds arrive tomorrow ready for Saturday. I asked clinic if I should wait another cycle but they said they'd be open and that they'd time it around Christmas Day. I'll be eating healthy over this holiday period. If the next rounds of IVF work, then I'll be making up for the lost cake next Christmas. 😅

MinBins · 08/12/2022 10:18

@Honeybunie forgot to tag you below 🙈

Honeybunie · 08/12/2022 12:00

@MinBins a clinic that is open over Christmas? hallelujah! 👏125 does sound low. I started on 300 of Meriofert and had 14 eggs collected, 12 mature. They said in my follow up consultation they'd probably not change anything about the dose if I had to do it again.
hehe I'm sure a slide of cake here and there won't do any harm 😅

MinBins · 10/12/2022 08:59

Oh those are positive numbers! @Honeybunie - how have you been?

I think for me it was due to AMH & risk of OHSS, PCOS related follicle count. But am on 300iu of Bemfola now and I took the first dose today.

Were staying with my in-laws this weekend and haven't told them about the IVF. Only a couple of people - so it was interesting concealing the injections in the fridge. Hoping no one would be awake in the morning - fail. 🙈😂

Bemfola is much easier to apply than Meriofert, no mixing! Which for an over thinker like me is super time saving 😂🙌🏼 fingers crossed we have positive results this time.

Honeybunie · 10/12/2022 09:40

@MinBins yeah it was a good harvest but unfortunately only 2 good ish embryos out of it 🙁 hope you’ll get loads of happy eggs and embryos 😊
do you have to keep the injections in the fridge? Is that only for certain ones?
Are you going to tell your in-laws? I wish I could tell everyone - it’s rubbish isn’t it.

I’ve tested yesterday morning and today. Both BFN. My gut feeling was right. Somehow it didn’t feel perfect. Not sure if it was the little fella but I also think I might have issues with the thickness of my lining. It was too thin when we tried a natural cycle FET, too thin on 6mg progynova a day, and only just made it to 7mm with 12mg progynova a day. I want them to address that next time. And I’ll try find natural remedies as well and take supplements.

So I think I’ll stop my medication now even tho I should take it until Monday - test day. But it feels pointless and I’d rather not if I’m not pregnant. I don’t think the result will change until Monday. I used the best tests. Did anyone else stop taking their medication early when they tested negative earlier than their test day?

Decaffe · 10/12/2022 10:36

Can you remind us how many DPT you are @Honeybunie?

Honeybunie · 10/12/2022 10:43

@Decaffe My transfer was Thursday 1st December. So 9 DPT right

MinBins · 10/12/2022 22:28

Thank you @Honeybunie! Ah I'm not too experienced in the tests post transfer, but would it be worth still waiting till the Monday?

The Bemfola I have to keep in the fridge - the rest are okay at room temps and I remember Meriofert was okay out of the fridge too. I haven't told anyone yet. I'll just feel pressure so kept it to a few people. 😅

MinBins · 13/12/2022 13:42

It looks like I might be out again during the stims. I've been feeling ill and not sure how I'll progress. Has anyone been poorly during stims? Haven't tested for Covid yet, have a sore throat and feeling tired/headachey.

Imisscoffee2021 · 13/12/2022 19:56

@MinBins sorry you're getting ill? Would you have to abandon the cycle with just a cold? Hopefully not covid, is it worth asking your clinic if you can continue? I didn't realise illness meant you couldn't continue x

MinBins · 13/12/2022 21:25

Ah that's a relief, I'm just nervous it might be covid, but I've not really been anywhere and will be testing tomorrow. 🤞🏼

I'm feeling fine, just sore throat and tired with a cold. @Imisscoffee2021

Tinkerbell098 · 13/12/2022 21:38

@Honeybunie sorry it’s been a BFN for you. Did you test today? Hope you are doing ok. Have you got anymore frosties?

@MinBins i think I had a cold during stims/ after EC I can’t quite remember. Don’t think my clinic mentioned anything about stopping a cycle for a cold so I’m sure it’ll be ok. I’m just recovering from a cold myself during a frozen cycle. Hope you feel better soon X

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 13/12/2022 21:49

@Honeybunie sorry about your bfn, it's a hard knock but you did so well advocating for yourself and being positive, what's the next step for you?

Honeybunie · 14/12/2022 15:25

thanks @Tinkerbell098 @Imisscoffee2021 yeah I did test on Monday with a digital Clearblue as they asked and it was BFN obvs. I carried on with the meds Saturday and Sunday because I didnt wanna regret anything just in case, but yeah the early tests were correct as expected. So we went to/ had three Christmas parties Saturday to Monday to get back to the fun things in life again and meet with frieds which was nice.
I'm doing fine thank you. I was determined not to let it knock me like last time and it worked. Like i said looking to the future now which helps and looking forward to see what they might do differently next time to impove whatever needs improving. I got my period today already after 2 days of stopping the meds. The nurse said to expect my period 5-7 days after the meds. And it's not even anywhere near heavy yet. So I'm coninved I need some stronger medication next time. So I look forward to the consultion and what they suggest.
I have no more frozen ones now. So second cycle of IVF/ICSI it is for us.
My only problem now is that I have to fit it around work somehow. I'm working away all of February, and then again in April. So I'm crossing my fingers my cycle allows me to do an egg collection in March. And freeze all I'm hoping. All fingers crossed for more embryos next time 🙏🙏🙏

@MinBins I don't think they'd abandon it for a cold. If you were absolutely floored it'd be a different story. But ring them and ask to be sure anyway. I had a cold after my transfer and I doubt it made any difference to the outcome.

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/12/2022 17:56

@Honeybunie good to have those three months to gear up to another cycle :)

How's everyone doing on their various stages? I had another scan yesterday as had a heavy work week and was worried I'd overdone it, but gummy bear was there with arms and legs, waving and squirming away loads! Felt positive for all of 12 hours and have woken up at 4am with either flu, covid or strep a, haven't felt this ill in a long long time and it's come so quick, have to stay away from Dr Google! Kicking myself I didn't have time yet to get flu jab, been in bed all day with the worst aches and fever, chills, headache and cough, plus no appetite so vomiting with pregnancy sickness too. Hoping tomorrow brings improvement!

Hope you're all well and feeling festive, can't believe it's next week! Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 15/12/2022 20:55

@Honeybunie glad you’re doing ok and had some fun stuff to take your mind off things. Also great you’ve already thought about next steps and you can take a bit of a break from it all.

@MinBins hope you’re feeling better today. What stage are you at now? When would egg collection fall?

@Imisscoffee2021 aww amazing you got to see bubs moving about. Does this mean you will break the news to family at Christmas? Oh so sorry you’re feeling rough. Take good rest and hope you feel better soon X

FET ladies, did you get a lot of CM whilst on oestrogen tablets? I’ve got loads and think it’s down to the medication as I don’t usually get this much for this long. Hope I’m not trying to ovulate! I'm having my first scan tomorrow to check on lining so they can confirm my transfer day. Fingers crossed everything is fine 🤞

MinBins · 15/12/2022 23:45

I hope you feel better soon @Imisscoffee2021 - there's so much going around currently, hope you get lots of rest to recover!

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 feeling loads better. The cold is still there but I'm over the worst of it.

I have my day 8 scan on Saturday and then again on day 10. Not sure when the egg collection will be - I asked the clinic and they said they can't predict until the scan.

I read online that it can be between day 14-16 - but not sure! Keeping fingers crossed it's all gone okay.

MinBins · 15/12/2022 23:48

Keeping fingers crossed for your next round (hopefully) in March @Honeybunie. Hope you have a lovely next couple of months.

Honeybunie · 16/12/2022 10:15

Oh Jesus @Imisscoffee2021 that sounds awful. I hope you get better real soon. Are you okay to get a flu jab during the first 12 weeks? I have had a voucher from work for ages, but the nurse said I shouldn't get it during my FET cycle attempts. Then I had an appointment but had to cancel it due to a family emergency. Then I forgot about it and now I'm going home for Christmas I don't have time to get it anymore. I'm always ill for a whole day after any jab. But yeah there is so much going around atm I'm also worried I catch something or bring it home to my family, esp. my grandma who hasn't got long to live due to cancer.

@Tinkerbell098 I can't remember having unusual amounts of CM during my FET meds. Hopefully it's just a sign of your lining growing nicely anyway. I hope the scan goes well and you'll get to know your transfer date. Let us know how you got on.

@MinBins great you have your scans tomorrow and Monday. Be nice to know what's going on. And yes get your potential EC date too :) Hope it's all spot on for you.

I've got my follow-up consultation on 5th January. I'm glad it's relatively soon. I thought I'd had to wait longer. So I'll know the next steps and get my medication ready for February. Once Christmas is over my busy period of the year starts and time will just fly by. The IVF cycle will just have to run on the side and I really hope it'll work out time wise. Otherwise it'd be summer again before I know it..

seekingbabyk · 16/12/2022 10:56

Hi ladies! Sorry for the radio silence I ended up with covid when we got back from nyc and today is the first day of feeling a bit more human. There is so much going around at the moment! I'm so sorry you're feeling rough @Imisscoffee2021 - I really sympathise with you! Hopefully you'll be feeling better by Monday and you get it out of the way before Christmas. Also you're not far off of 12 weeks so fingers crossed the sickness should ease soon too. Just get as much rest as possible x

@Honeybunie I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you! It's so gutting but it's definitely worth throwing yourself back into socialising and then you can think about your next round after Xmas.

@Tinkerbell098 so excited for you to get your next transfer! Let us know how your scan goes today!

@MinBins let us know how it goes tomorrow! How are you feeling? I think day 7 is usually the day I start getting really fed up and just want the stims over! Keeping everything crossed for you this round!

I'm feeling really run down at the moment I wish I could click my fingers and it be January. I think a combination of covid, jet lag, exhaustion, stress, etc. Christmas is really hard going for us as we host every year. MIL is quite demanding and we are having to do an hour round trip both morning and night on Christmas Day to pick her up and drop her home. Boxing Day the same thing but at my brother in laws with her. Just feeling like I want to be back to routine, feeling healthy, eating healthy food and normal life. Also everywhere is still icy/covered in snow here which is really dragging on now. Feel like I am ready for spring lol! Sorry for the rant just feeling fed up today!

Not sure what to do about our next round. On one hand I'm thinking just do it in January so its done, on the other I feel like the recovery last time was quite tough and maybe I should give it until Feb/March to let my body recover.

Anyway I can't wait to hear of your updates today/tomorrow x

Tinkerbell098 · 16/12/2022 12:41

@MinBins good luck for your scan tomorrow and hope you can stop stims soon. I think I did 10 days in the end and was fed up after a week.

@Honeybunie thats great the appointment is so soon and you can think about next steps already. It’s always good to have a plan.

@seekingbabyk oh sorry you got covid but glad you’re a bit better now. I think everyone’s ill these days and I’m also sick of the ice everywhere. I go for dog walks every evening and it’s really really cold and I’m always shivering by the time I get back and ready for tea and cake! Really need to watch what I eat during a FET but can’t help wanting all the junk in the world in this freezing weather.

just been for my scan and all ok for transfer on 22nd! The lining was 8.3mm, whereas last cycle on trigger day the lining was 9.8 around the same cycle day so a bit worried it’s a bit thin this time around. I’m starting progesterone tomorrow so hopefully that will help. On transfer day I have to do a lateral flow test in the morning and ring up to let them know it’s negative, then they’ll start the thawing process and let me know a time to come in. An hour before that, I’m meant to do a blood test for progesterone. I’m glad they’re testing progesterone before transfer in case I need more.
how is everyone’s Christmas plans coming along? OH and I have booked a mini break for ourselves on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the Cotswolds so really looking forward to that. It’ll be couple days after transfer so not planning to do much and mainly relax. It’s meant to be the in-laws turn to host Christmas this year so all his sisters would be busy with theirs. My parents live abroad so OH thought we could do something alone. Back to family from Boxing Day. I’m not sure when I’ll test this time as last time I went crazy with the testing (mainly as I wanted to test out the trigger). I’ll try to hold off for a bit this year and stop myself from taking any tests with me to Cotswold.

god that’s a long message!

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 16/12/2022 12:46

@seekingbabyk see how you feel after Christmas and new year if you’re ready for a new cycle. You might feel refreshed after the break and be ok. Either way, won’t be a long wait and you’ve already got some Frosties so not too much pressure!

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 16/12/2022 12:52

@Tinkerbell098 yes I think I'm going to play it by ear but tbh because of possible OHSS, now covid, etc I think I should probably give it another month at least to be as healthy as possible. Also like you just working my way through mince pies, chocolates, biscuits- it's making me feel like shit tbh! I have a fridge full of healthy stuff but just want to be under a blanket with a cuppa and the biscuits lol!

That's great news about your transfer and it's good they are monitoring you so closely now too! A Xmas on our own in a cottage would be the dream! Feeling so jealous of that right now! I think when you are child free there's a lot more expectation! Hopefully this time next year we all be mums or at least pregnant and can let everyone else do the hard work while we put our feet up! Cannot wait for family Christmas days just at home with little munchkins running around 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Honeybunie · 16/12/2022 13:55

Oh noooo @seekingbabyk that's awful you caught covid. Hope you're well on the mend now. yeah you should definitely make sure you're 100% first before starting again. But no stress, you will know when you feel 100% and up for it again :)

@Tinkerbell098 yay you had your transfer day confirmed :) not long now. Your lining sounds amazing to me! but that is quite a difference indeed. did they say anything about it, or did you ask? Well you are well over the 7mm so that's great either way.

I'm also not feeling too healthy. hardly leaving the house as it's too cold. not even been to the supermarket in ages so we just end up eating rubbish haha.
We're having an early Christmas with OH's mother, daughters, sister and her three little naughty girls this Sunday. Luckily not in our house, so not too much pressure on us. Then OH and I are off to Germany on Wednesday to spend Christmas with my family yay. Couldn't go last year as OH had covid. Can't wait for Christmas markets, mulled wine and my mum's food 🍷

what a wonderful thought @seekingbabyk here's hoping we will have all been successful by Christmas next year 💞🎄✨💞🎄✨💞🎄✨
