Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@Honeybunie did you transfer over the weekend? Hope everything went smoothly and you're nicely resting X

@Imisscoffee2021 how are you getting on?

Bellwells · 15/08/2022 09:28

Hey @Tinkerbell098 sorry I thought I updated you Guy’s yesterday, I didn’t have the best news yesterday so spent most of the day crying.

From 8 eggs
2 were premature
3 didn’t fertilise
1 fertilised abnormally
2 became embryos

In order to do the genetic testing I need 4 embryos as I am de novo the first person in my family with this condition. So to test if the embryos have it they are doing karyo matching plus testing the embryos finger print (dna) again mine. And they need 4 embryos for a reliable result.

They are emailing the genetic lab to see if they can biopsy and send samples of the ones that didn’t fertilise/didn’t fertilise correctly (I can’t remember now) , but I told the embryologist to put all communication through my husband as it’s a bit much right now.

I’ve also emailed my consultant (she ooo till the end of the month) and her PA to see if there is any more NHS funding in the pot this financial year so hopefully I hear from them today.

So unless the genetics lab bring us good news it seems like it’s back to the starting line for us.

Hi @Tinkerbell098, I've actually just got off the phone with my clinic as it's CD1 for me so I have my baseline scan boomed in for Wednesday afternoon! Never been so happy to see AF in 15 months😅

Any news on your cycle going ahead this month?

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 09:30

Booked in not boomed!

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 09:33

@Bellwells I'm so sorry you didn't get the result you needed, really hope they can work with the others and get answers for you xx

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 09:34

@Bellwells I'm so sorry to hear. I hope the lab can still test the ones that didn't fertilise/abnormally fertilised. All fingers crossed for you and really hope you'll hear some good news soon. Hope you're treating yourself to something nice X

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 09:35

@Imisscoffee2021 oh that's great! I'm still waiting for a call back for them to let me know if they can fit me in this cycle. The scan needs to be done pretty soon as I'm CD3 now, and yet to hear from them.

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 09:39

@Tinkerbell098 gaah you must be in such limbo! I'd be ringing them non stop! Fingers crossed they call, how far into cycle an they push it for starting stims?

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 09:47

@Imisscoffee2021 yes it's so frustrating and anxiety inducing! It's only been an hour since they said they'll ring back. What do you think is an ok timeframe to leave before I ring them to nag? I'm not sure, but I think the scan needs to happen within the first 4-5 days. It didn't help that CD1 was a Saturday and the clinic is shut in the weekend.

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 09:51

@Tinkerbell098 I'd probably give it to latest 3 hours before they close for the day to chase up, it's so time sensitive it should be a priority! Fingers crossed you get good news today and the phone rings without a chase!

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 10:09

@Imisscoffee2021 they just rang up to say they're unable to fit me in :( they said because treatment will have to pretty much start today and also that collection will fall on the bank holiday Monday, they can't accommodate me. How annoying!

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 10:48

@Tinkerbell098 that's so rubbish! I'm so sorry you have to wait another cycle! I think it's so crazy that these kinds of procedures that can't be put off can't be done on bank holidays. My egg collection date looks like it'll be bang on the bank hol too so I'm hoping mine is open, ten days of stims from Wednesday plus trigger literally hits the 29th 😕 is yours based in a hospital? Xx

Honeybunie · 15/08/2022 10:54

Oh nooo @Tinkerbell098 that is just sooo unfair. Can't believe they can accomodate you because of weekends and a bank holiday! Very sorry you have to wait a little longer.

@Bellwells so very sorry to hear about your results :( sending a big hug. I assume that means you have to do it all over again? Can you use the 2 embryos you had now for future testing, or do you need 4 fresh ones in one cycle? I hope they can at least learn from this cycle and can improve your treatment going forward.

@Imisscoffee2021 great news that you' can start. hope it all goes well.

@Tinkerbell098 yes I had my transfer on Saturday. The procedure went well. I'm still wondering how they can be sure that they actually transfered something so small, but I gotta trust them. Feeeling a bit strange now knowing it's in but I can't obvs feel anything. Trying to take it easy, but have to stop myself half the time. Not used to resting. I guess sitting on my desk working is good for now. And I slept quite a bit over the weekend which was nice. And just waiting now until next week when I can do the test. And praying it'll stick. But also trying not to get my hopes up in case it doesn't work. Out of my 11 fertilised embryos I also only had 2 good ones on Day 5. I haven't seen any stats, but I thought it'd be more. It's quite shocking how many don't make it. I had 4 on Day 5 that were slightly underdeveloped, and they obversed them until Day 6 (yesterday) and if they had developed they could've frozen them too, but none of them did. So we have one in the freezer now. Better than nothing!

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 12:20

@Imisscoffee2021 @Honeybunie it really is frustrating I have no words! I'm just feeling really down. They should be able to handle someone getting their period on a Saturday and have a system in place to deal with transfers/collections on a bank holiday. It's just so absurd I want to cry! I really feel like complaining but don't want it to ruin my relationship with the nurses for the future cycle. Does that mean that someone with a 28 day cycle who would get AF every Saturday would be denied treatment? I have so many questions now, but just went blank the moment they said the word "unfortunately".

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 12:22

@Honeybunie that's great everything went ok and you've got one in the freezer. Glad you managed to rest over the weekend. Keep yourself distracted if you can and all the best X

LetstalkaboutBruno · 15/08/2022 13:03

@Tinkerbell098 its a nightmare isn’t it?! I am only able to trigger with buserelin, so I need to wait for it. There’s been a problem for a while, it has a short shelf life and the last lot that was produced went out of date at the end of July. I believe that the next lot of Buserelin is meant to be available mid Aug, but there has been rumours of September… or so I am told!

I hope it’s back soon!

seekingbabyk · 15/08/2022 13:09

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind me joining you.

I am about to start IVF with London Womens Clinic with baseline booked for Friday. I have menopur 150 to take from then.

Absolutely terrified after bad experiences with clomid which left me with bad side effects and have never had an op before so EC fills me with anxiety.

Any advice on how to deal with the anxiety?

I am not sure yet if we will do a transfer this month. It'll depend how I'm feeling after the collection.

None of our friends or family know do will be lovely to have a little support group here :)

Honeybunie · 15/08/2022 13:59

@Tinkerbell098 it is absolutely ridiculous. You are right, someone with a 28 day cycle would be screwed then. I really feel for you. Things like that get me super angry. And I know.. you always have so many questions after the actual phonecall... just not fair.

1stcycle · 15/08/2022 15:37

Hi all, hope you are all doing well! I went for my baseline scan today to start treatment (day 3 of cycle) however one of my follicles were a little larger than they would have liked so they cancelled this cycle. I was a bit gutted because I was excited and mentally prepared to start stims, but I understand it’s for the best to wait. now I will be taking Provera day 19-25 and then wait for my AF to arrive and hopefully follicles won’t be too big at the next baseline scan.

@acaciabluebell I saw you mentioned you were going to be taking Provera and just wondered how that is going?

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 15:37

@Honeybunie yes, I am usually 29 days, so there is a big chance that the next period will also be a weekend (hope I randomly get a 30 day one, so it falls on a Monday). I rang the clinic to ask if I can get the nurse to ring me back to ask this, but they haven't yet. I will try again tomorrow. It's really annoying and my anxiety is through the roof! How are you getting on? Hope you're having a good day. When is test day for you?

Honeybunie · 15/08/2022 15:55

awww gutted @1stcycle I cross my fingers that everything will be alright next cycle.

that is so annoying @Tinkerbell098 . I hope you get some answers soon!
I'm quite good thank you. luckily I'm not an impatient person and not too stressed about it for now. Keeping myself busy with work but I am reading too much on the internet lol. There's just so many questions. My test day will be Wednesday next week. After 11 days. Earlier that I had thought which is nice. Not long at all really :) Also my bloatedness is gone since yesterday and my insides seem all healed after the egg collection so I'm really happy to be feeling better again down there :)

acaciabluebell · 15/08/2022 16:09

Hi everyone! I am CD2 today and I've got my baseline booked in for tomorrow morning at 11am. Feeling very nervous!!

@1stcycle Provera was fine, it made me feel my usual pms symptoms more strongly aka a strong backache and sore boobs, plus a headache.

Tinkerbell098 · 15/08/2022 16:09

@1stcycle really sorry about the scan today, didn't even realise it would be a reason to cancel a cycle. Really hope you get a better outcome next cycle X

seekingbabyk · 15/08/2022 16:11

@acaciabluebell hope everything goes ok tomorrow- mine is on Friday also super nervous. What medication will you be on?

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/08/2022 16:25

@acaciabluebell you're one day ahead of me, synced cycle buddies! Mines on Wednesday afternoon when I'll be CD3, hope all goes well with yours!

@1stcycle I didn't know that was a possibility, hope it shrinks for your next cycle!
