IVF - Stims Aug - Egg Collection Sep

Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.

Hey @Honeybunie Monday’s scan was all good thanks had another scan today and they called me and said come back tomorrow. I’m due to trigger tomorrow but I think they may hold off and tell me to trigger friday instead.

I’m starting to feel fed up now and I look pregnant but there’s no baby just eggs and crazy bloating.
honestly hormones are getting the better of me right now.

@Bellwells aww bless you. The bloating is so annoying. Wow that's a few scans for you. Glad they're going well :) If you have your trigger on Friday, that'd mean egg collection on Sunday? Are they open on a Sunday?

@Honeybunie yeah my clinic is open 7 days a week.

The guy that done my scan and the lady that done my bloods both recon I will trigger tonight. Once I’ve had the nurses call I’ll give you an update.

@Bellwells that's amazing! Not long to go at all! How many follicles are they seeing at the minute? Hope you get to trigger tonight and you can enjoy a jab free day tomorrow X

@Honeybunie CD1 is probably going to be tomorrow, so I think my collection/transfer would fall during the bank hol weekend, which is what she meant I think. I think the clinic only does collections on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday due to theatre availability, so I'm not sure what is going to happen if they're closed on the Monday.

@Tinkerbell098 I have the same worry, I've emailed my clinic to ask how they manage that when a woman's ideal trigger time would make egg collection fall on a day the clinic is closed. Do they keep stimming and suppressing the oh surge for a few days? Or maybe lower stims to prevent over stimulating, will let you know when they reply!

I have 8 on my right and 7 on my left.

The clinic may be open bank holiday Monday - mine is so I hope your is too.

Just had my phone call with the embryo update. 3 are good quality, 2 average and 6 poor quality. I asked what they look for and it's how many cells they have so far (6-8 cells for the good ones, 2-4 for poor ones), also how evenly in size the cells have divided (the more even the better), and whether the divisions are leaving fragments between cells (like crumbs when a cookie breaks; the less the better). the numbers didn't sound so good to me at first, but she said sometimes the average ones can even overtake the good ones by Day 5 and make the race. So that's why transfer day will be Saturday as Day 5 is the best day to determine the best one which is most likely to create a pregnancy. Fingers crossed. Come on little embryos 🍀

@Tinkerbell098 I just spoke to my clinic who also take NHS patients, and they said the clinic is technically closed on weekends and bank hols but not for procedures that can't be delayed, like egg collection and egg transfer, they're open for those. Hope it's the same for you!

@Honeybunie that's great you've got 3 good quality and a few still on the go. Fingers crossed they'll catch up with the rest and you'll have plenty to go in the freezer. Not long to go!

@Phrenologistsfinger that sounds really tough. I was thinking I wouldn't wanna go through this whole process again, never mind a few times. I guess at some point you have to draw the line and look after yourself and protect yourself both physically and mentally. I wish you the very best of luck 🍀with this attempt. and if it doesn't work out then go crazy and spoil yourself and do all the things that people with kids can't do. that's my plan 😊xx

Hey @Imisscoffee2021 sorry I was meant to message earlier but I’m in and out of sleep we got 8 eggys and I need 4 to make it to day 5 for PGD testing. I get my fertilisation call tomorrow and day 3 a progress update on Tuesday.

@Bellwells no pressure to message, you're the trailblazer in this thread though 😅 so all the questions! That's a great amount, got my fingers crossed the embabies develop and you get enough for testing :) how do you feel after egg collection?

it was the best sleep of my life though

They were trying to wake me up but I kept calling for my husband because all I wanted was him but he wasn’t allowed on the floor so they gave me my phone to call him bless them

I am going to jump in here, although I may be a little behind you! I was due to start next week, but my treatment is on hold due to the Buserelin shortage (I need it for trigger, I cannot use anything else due to my high AMH). I am now due to start Norethisterone on the 25th and have treatment early September. If there is no Buserelin, then I will be bumped back again! So I am keeping everything crossed.

I have PCOS, high AMH and don't ovulate. This will be my second attempt at IVF after recurrent losses from round one. I am having some changes to my protocol, so I am ridiculously hopeful going into round two.

Hopefully there won't be too many more delays going forward!

@LetstalkaboutBruno my clinic is also out of Buserelin, so I've been put on short with Ovitrelle as trigger. Because of the increased demand for short now, they're struggling to fit everyone in. I'm due to get a call today to confirm if I can start this cycle or not. So the Byserelin shortage is now also having an impact on everyone on short cycles, it's such a mess! Hope they sort something out soon for us X
