IVF - Stims Aug - Egg Collection Sep

Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.

I do my menopur in the evenings. Did anyone else do the same? If so did you do your final stim shortly before triggering?

@Spin101 i was told to do a last stims dose about 4 hours before the trigger to give the follicles one last push. Good luck X

@Imisscoffee2021 that's great they'll be giving you extra progesterone support. Got everything crossed for you!

@Tinkerbell098 thank you. they just called and told me not to do anymore stims as my levels are ok and they are happy for me to trigger with ovitrelle. Feel a bit nervous about not having that one last push.

@Spin101 no trust them. I had two 18mm follicles on the last scan that I’m pretty sure I lost due to the extra shot. Yey! Almost there X

I'm on my way for transfer number two, had the call from the clinic this morning that the embryo survived the thaw and they'll monitor its expansion in the next few hours :)

im leaving for my appointment at EPU shortly. Although I know what the outcome would be, still feeling really nervous. Hope there are no further complications!

@Tinkerbell098 really hope they can give you answers on where it is and that your body is naturally seeing it through x

I triggered last night. Can’t quite believe how quickly EC has come round. It’ll be tomorrow morning.

I decided to do a pregnancy and ovulation test. I understand the pregnancy one being positive due to hcg surge. Not sure if I’m being silly but should I be ovulating? I know this stuff doesn’t make much sense if you’re doing ivf. Hoping it’s coz I might be losing the largest follicle and not all of them!

Hi ladies just playing catch up after moving house yesterday- god that's stressful- makes the ivf seem a breeze!

@Imisscoffee2021 yay I'm so happy for you that you got the extra progesterone support and your little blast survived the thaw. How did the transfer go? This is the hard bit now with the TWW but keeping everything crossed for you!

@Spin101 good luck tomorrow - what time is your EC? How are you feeling? Are you going straight in for a fresh transfer if you can?

I have my nurse consultation tomorrow just by phone but feels like it's come around so quickly! Feel so much better going into this round - I just want to get started now!

@seekingbabyk moving house is so so stressful, I think its the most stressed I've ever been, when we moved in 2021 just up the road everything that could go wrong went wrong, rentedmoving van smashing wing mirrors on a narrow lane whike driven by friend, then backed into a lamp post, snowing randomly and our stuff soaked! Lovely to be in a new home and making it your own, and hopefully your future little ones family home :)

Transfer was good, blast thawed well and was am expanded blastocyst when transferred, consultant very positive but I know now not to get my hopes up and read up statistics on top grade blasts, doesn't seem to mean anything! I'm torn about testing this time, tempted to not as I'm visiting my hometown next week and meeting my sisters boy so not sure I want the added stress that comes from agonising over a faint or blank test. Official test day is 7th November:)

@Imisscoffee2021 the worst part is that we're just temporarily in this house as we couldn't find anything we liked and didn't want to lose our buyers so will be doing it all again within the next year or so hopefully! Think I'll get a team in next time and let them do it lol!

Awwww that's amazing they are feeling positive. I don't blame you for being guarded - I think we all will next time but there's no reason this won't work for you and positivity is everything so try to keep optimistic and make sure you get plenty of rest x

@Imisscoffee2021 glad the transfer went well. Hope you have some nice plans for the next two weeks and take it easy. I think I'll be the same with the testing as now I'm really scared to face the same again. Not knowing and having hope is probably better than the anxiety I was facing everyday.

@seekingbabyk agreed with moving house! Don't think IVF is anywhere as stressful as moving haha! Glad it's all done now though, at least for a bit. Good luck with the nurse appointment today. Let us know how it goes.

@Spin101 good luck with egg collection today! Hope it goes smoothly. Regarding the OPK, I've heard that hCG chemical structure is very similar to LH, so OPKs can pick up on that to give a positive. But if you've also had FSH/LH in your stims, that's also probably why you got a peak OPK. With IVF, hormones are all over the place and it's such an artificial environment.

Update from me - EPU were really nice. The scan was similar to the private scan I had on Sunday. They couldn't see anything. They did say my ovaries were enlarged, but it's expected after IVF stims. Also said I've developed two cysts on my right ovary (I knew for a fact that they weren't there pre IVF as they scanned me to specifically look for cysts). Again, said they were common after IVF stims, and should go away in the next 2-3 months, but said to keep an eye on them. No fluid or any other concerns. They took bloods again and said they'd let me know today and discuss next steps. They weren't really sure why I haven't bled yet, think it's the cyclogest. Guess I have to take it one day at a time and see what they advise.

Heard back from EPU. hCG is staying pretty static (now at 68, was 70 on Tuesday). They’re going to do more bloods on Monday. They said it’s a waiting game now to see if I have a bleed and for hCG to fall. My lining has also gotten thicker since Sunday when I had the private scan by 5-6 mm. What’s going on??

What alot for you to take in @Tinkerbell098! Hope the bleed comes soon, so there was no sign of anything in fallopinan tubes too? Glad it's not an ectopic x

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed you get a bleed in the next few days. I'm glad you went and got the first blood test now too so you can monitor what's happening. Let us know how the next bloods go

Appointment was fine today - only a phone call but meds being sent next week and then hopefully baseline on 8th November but not sure how accurate that will be as I was a week late last month so maybe it'll be sooner and maybe later 🤷🏼‍♀️

How's the symptom spotting going this time @Imisscoffee2021 ? It's so hard not to notice every single little thing isn't it!

@seekingbabyk I've had some twinges today but nothing I can say for sure, I'm wierdly having zero progesterone symptoms this cycle despite the higher dose, no sore boobs or anything! I didn't ovulate this month, I got a surge but no ovulation, the nurse said that happens sometimes due to the oestrogen pills. I was worried as my period is due 4 days before test day and only 6dp5dt but the nurse again said I shouldn't come on with meds, fingers crossed I don't bleed early like last cycle!

So other than twinges now and then no symptoms at all!

@Imisscoffee2021 they haven’t ruled out ectopic yet. I’m still PUL, it’s just too small to see on a scan. There is probably still some tissue left which is why hCG is not falling. Why I still haven’t bled is really puzzling them. Aww TWW is the worst! Have you taken some time off work? Hope you’ve found things to keep yourself busy. Everything crossed for you X

@Tinkerbell098 with mine as long as the numbers were falling (even slightly) or hovering they weren't too worried but they rose slightly by around 30 if I remember right and that's when they rescanned and found it in my tube. Hopefully it won't come to that for you. You wouldn't think that the embryo could work it's way up a tube once transferred through ivf would you? I know it can be in other places but I would think a scan would pick that up

This pregnancy and ttc stuff is such a head f*ck! I can't tell you how glad I am to have joined this forum though - it means everything having actual support from people who understand and are in it with you!

@Imisscoffee2021 that's good you're feeling good this time. There's probably a lot to be said about being more relaxed on the second time too. Did you get your embryo development video this time again?x

@Tinkerbell098 this will hopefully be a good TWW as I've got a week holiday and will be visiting family up north, and meeting my new nephew! Can't wait to squeeze him :) I've got so many people to visit I won't have time to do the usual obsessive reading of 'no symptoms but bfp?' and 'early pregnancy symptoms in TWW' threads etc. Most of them are already greyed out as I've read them at some point!
Really hope you get the bleed soon, and can look forward to another cycle xx

@seekingbabyk it's so much nicer doing a frozen one tbh, without the tenderness of huge stimmed ovaries and egg collection, feel very normal :) I got a pic of the fella but I'll email and ask for the video, they said last time I asked that usually people get them after a BFP but I don't mind having it and it not working, it's still good to seenit and it's always going to be part of the journey even if it didn't implant.

Is it just me who can’t get their head around how you can freeze something, defrost it, and then it will continue to grow? It truly boggles my mind. I am hoping that I will be doing a frozen transfer in my next cycle.

Are you feeling a bit more like yourself now after all the injections?

I am on CD14 of my off cycle. I’m not sure as to whether I’ve missed my ovulation and the surge happened in a 24 hour period where I didn’t do two ovulation strips in a day, or whether it’s coming up and has been delayed due to IVF last month and the fact I’ve upped my Ubiquinol to 400mg/day.

I had EWCM towards the start of last week though so I think it’s the former. If that’s the case then I ovulated on Thursday and we only got to DTD on Wednesday. Would it be worth a shot today too?!

I have my post-cycle consultation with the clinic next week, not sure how I’m feeling about it really. In order for me to get my second funded transfer started before I turn to old to quality for it (if it comes to that, I am anticipating it will as my frozen 3BC is not the best quality), I have to have the frozen transfer in my next cycle. So I suppose I'm just anxious that for whatever reason, they're going to say its not possible and that I have to wait another month.
