IVF October/November 2021

I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

@Reevalyneete glad you got some great news!! It feels like a lifetime away for me still... OTD is Sunday! Can't believe I've lasted this far but just didn't want the devastation of a false or real negative till I have to!

Thank you ladies, there must have been some strong baby dust floating about today.... 2 yolk sacks have been found. I'm still very worried as they are saying they are showing as 4 weeks. Surely this isn't right? Both embryos were day 6s, transferred on 29th. Does that jot mean technically I would count from 9th November as being pregnant? I'm so confused, but scan lady seemed fairly confident. I had bloods taken, and my comparison blood is due Saturday. They have also booked me another scan for Xmas eve. Still bleeding, and I would say I'm at period flow stage now, it just doesn't seem to be stopping, again she said that she couldn't find a reason for bleeding either :-/

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 so happy they seen the yolk sacs! That’s all I seen when I went for my scan around 5 weeks so it’s good that they can see them at 4 weeks if that’s what they are saying your at? I really don’t understand how they work the dates out with IVF someone on here probably has more expertise! Glad they are following things up with bloods and scan etc. Try and relax (so much easier said than done) but I went to the cinema and out for tea and it really helped when waiting for the follow up. I even met with friends who don’t know the circumstances and it was so nice to not have ivf, scans, bloods talk even just for a couple of hours.

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 congrats!! Twins!!! As worrying as it is just take the good news today and enjoy it 🥰 fill the diary for the next 48 hours with something nice!!
@Reevalyneete I'm really surprised I've held off to be honest 😂 I'm just really nervous of a BFN and it's enough to put me off! I think I'll test Saturday though just so I've time to come to terms either way before telling the clinic... also worried that we fly next Weds!!

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 so glad you got some good news today and exciting that it was twins. I'm not sure how they work the dates either. I think it is from when they take the eggs out so on egg collection day would technically be the first day you are pregnant as the eggs are already growing. As that would be when I will be 7 weeks from next week at my scan 7 weeks since egg collection. I think that is how it works anyway but can't say for sure x

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 now I have myself all confused as was counting back weeks so it is only 5 weeks since egg collection on my scan date but then they are saying that is 7 weeks as I guess when you normally ovulate in a cycle without IVF you are technically already 2 weeks pregnant as on the first day of your missed period is 4 weeks pregnant but only 2 weeks since the egg was released. So it is very confusing that I have now got myself in a flap trying to figure it out 💁‍♀️

@Reevalyneete I think you are right sometimes it's nice to have a few hours that are not IVF related. From tomorrow I'm really busy with our salon, as you can imagine everyone wants to be beautiful for Xmas, so it's non stop :-/

@LivingonaPrayerandGin it doesn't seem real, and I'm not sure I can be excited when it's so close to going wrong. I feel alot calmer now I know it hasn't ended yet, just going to get stuck into work the next few days and hopefully time will fly, when are you planning on testing, the wait is just awful isn't it!

@Tiger86 as far as I can figure egg collection is ovulation day, so pregnancy counts from 14 days before that.... but mine was a 6 day frozen transfer. So to me logically transfer was 29th, minus 6 days for embryo growth, minus 14 days takes it to 9th November, which is 5+2, so I'm just worried they aren't growing as they should. It's just a scary waiting game again x

The closer I get to my scan date the more anxious I have become. Really starting to feel worried now that everything is going to be over. This is the longest wait of the whole process! 4 more sleeps 🥺

Thanks everyone! It's been a long 2 years!!! Still can't believe it 🥰 scan booked for 22nd Jan which feels forever away?!

You will be fine @Tiger86 I think anxiety comes with this whole process. I switched off this weekend and it was so good to do so. I have my follow up scan in the EPU on Thursday and I’m nervous for that. I’m not sure the nerves for a scan will ever go! Xx

I will be signing out for a while, have had an awful week, a small bit of hope thrown in the middle (2 embryos had implanted, confirmed at the scan Thursday), followed by the lowest of low today, when they have confirmed bloods have dropped and pregnancy is not viable. I have to go Xmas eve to another scan to check everything is out :( I'm beyond heartbroken.

So I am wishing you all the very best for your journeys, and I'm sure I will see some of you in future groups.... whatever your situation, try enjoy Christmas, even if that is drowning sorrows as we will be ;-) loads of love to you all x

A friend gave me this card after I had a miscarriage and I kept it. The words always gave me a little comfort and I thought I would share. Take care xx

Thanks ladies, that's beautiful @Tiger86. Have treated ourselves to wine and Chinese tonight, the next week or 2 will be a Bitch, I'm lucky my other half is so good. Can't wait to get past the bleeding and hopefully be in the right frame of mind to start again soon x
