I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure Sad

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

So sorry @Shaj123 . Take your time and look after yourself x

Gensola · 14/11/2021 20:07

@Shaj123 I’m so so sorry xx have you looked at Czech Republic? It’s so much cheaper than here, it makes it much more possible to save up or pay debt quickly. Sending love x

Shaj123 · 14/11/2021 20:15

Thank you @KatRee and @Gensola.

No I haven’t looked at any clinics abroad, I know some people have gone to Cyprus? I wouldn’t even know where to begin in searching for clinics abroad and also trying to explain the time away Confused

Gensola · 14/11/2021 20:24

@Shaj123 Cyprus is meant to be great too. I’m just planning a 3rd cycle out in CZ republic at reprofit clinic - it’s half the price of my current clinic and they don’t need you there the whole time, you get scans etc in UK at a partner clinic. Even with flights etc it will work out thousands less than UK. There’s a website run by some UK parents who had their successful iVF abroad that I found really helpful www.yourivfabroad.co.uk/

Shaj123 · 14/11/2021 20:27

Thank you @Gensola, I will check it out x

Reefy · 14/11/2021 20:29

@Shaj123 so sorry 😢

Tiger86 · 14/11/2021 21:10

@shaj123 so sorry it didn't work out. Take some time for yourself ☹

want2bemum · 15/11/2021 06:32

@Shaj123 Oh so sorry to hear that lovely, that's devastating :( I hope you are ok and taking some time out to look after yourself xx

PositiveeVibes · 15/11/2021 07:58

@Shaj123 so sorry to hear that! Look after yourself x

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 15/11/2021 08:34

@Shaj123 I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope that you have some nice things planned to cheer yourself up. This whole process is so tough.

I’m currently 6 days post 3 day transfer and feeling like I’m definitely out. I have lower back pain and a crampy feeling exactly like I usually get before my period starts. Right now the whole thing feels like the biggest (and most unpleasant) waste of thousands of pounds ever! I can’t stop wishing that I had started trying to get pregnant the second I got married but I selfishly wanted to travel first and enjoy some time as a couple. Regretting that decision now…

ChocolateinBrugges · 15/11/2021 09:11

@Shaj123
Im really sorry to hear that. Sending you love and strength. This process is so so tough. Be kind to yourself.

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK
Don’t give up hope yet. There could be a number of reasons for the cramping including the medication....Also don’t beat yourself up about doing what any couple would want to do after first getting married. It’s not selfish to live your life. Unless you were aware of a condition, noone ever expects to not get pregnant. We have one child who we conceived first month eight years ago, when we started trying for baby #2 we waited till she was 5 because I thought we would conceive easily again...well turns out she was a miracle and we just never knew. I look back and think we shouldn’t have waited but we had a studio flat when we had her and we wanted to build our lives up...we can’t regret these things - normal life plans.

Shaj123 · 15/11/2021 09:11

Thank you everyone, I feel better that I don't have to take the extra progesterone! It's like my body getting rid of all the extra hormones.

You must not think like that @Fingerscrossedfor2021HK. You were making time for yourselves as a couple and I always feel if you don't make time for yourself and as a couple then how would you become the parents you want to be in life?

i guess the consolation I take is the baby we are supposed to have and the person that they will become in this world isn't ready to be born yet and everything would be worth it when they do arrive.

Shaj123 · 15/11/2021 09:13

@ChocolateinBrugges same here for us, our daughter we didn't really try for and I naively thought it would happen easily for us the 2nd time, the benefit of hindsight I guess!

Tiger86 · 15/11/2021 09:52

Just had my scan and they said I have 17 follicles at the right size so fingers crossed there is some eggs in them. Egg collection on Wednesday x

KatRee · 15/11/2021 10:00

@Tiger86 That's a nice number, I'm sure you'll get a decent number of eggs

@ChocolateinBrugges Is your EC still today? Hope it all goes well if so!

Shaj123 · 15/11/2021 10:07

@Tiger86 sounds like they are a great number of follicles, hopefully theres a good number of eggs to fertilise!

PositiveeVibes · 15/11/2021 11:25

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK don’t give up just yet although I know it’s hard! Aww sorry you feel like that, but you didn’t know this is how it was going to be! I often think why didn’t we start earlier but it wasn’t the right time for us and this is the journey we have to take and I tell myself it will all be worth it! It’s definitely made me a stronger person! X

PositiveeVibes · 15/11/2021 11:25

@Tiger86 that’s a good number! Good luck for Wednesday!

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 15/11/2021 17:28

Hello! Can I join?! I'm awaiting my first cycle of IVF to start this week, after 2 years of trying with unexplained Infertility 🤞

ChocolateinBrugges · 15/11/2021 20:36

Welcome @LivingonaPrayerandGin

Thank you @KatRee Yes, egg collection was today, 8 eggs which was significantly more than I expected, I’m sure some will be immature as they were far behind on the scan but if even 4 are mature I will be delighted, will find out tomorrow

PositiveeVibes · 15/11/2021 20:55

@LivingonaPrayerandGin hello! Hope you’re okay? Good luck on your journey! X

@ChocolateinBrugges glad your EC went well! Aw that’s good.. wishing you luck for tomorrow x

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 16/11/2021 00:03

@ChocolateinBrugges oh that’s a great number - well done you!

@LivingonaPrayerandGin - welcome and best of luck!

Thanks all for indulging me in my pity party and sorry for being so negative - I am blaming the progesterone!!!

want2bemum · 16/11/2021 03:37

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK That's the whole point of the thread so don't worry! It's a good place to offload. The progesterone sucks and I'm feeling really similar. I've felt so negative this past couple of days and now I'm up at 3.30am unable to sleep because I'm feeling so moody and emotional. They didn't tell me these bloody pessaries had so many side effects!

My test day is tomorrow (Wed) as well so that may well be contributing, and we just found out that my partner had an infection in his semen at the time of treatment, which is probably why only one of our eggs fertilised even with ICSI :( So I am feeling even more doubtful about BFP chances.

@ChocolateinBrugges Best of luck for good news today - fingers crossed!

Gensola · 16/11/2021 07:14

@want2bemum good luck for today ❤️

I’m getting ready for transfer at 12, I took the rest of day off but am working online from home 9-11 just to keep myself a bit busy and to minimise disruption as we are really flat out at work now. Then I’ll meditate to relax before going to clinic. Just praying they both defrost ok!

Reefy · 16/11/2021 07:35

@Gensola good luck with transfer.

@PositiveeVibes good luck with collection today!

@want2bemum oh tell me about it with the side effects! I'm also struggling with sleeping. I end up getting up & eating cheerios 😂. Sorry to hear that, I expect that is why the 1 from the 13 fertilised. Good luck with OTD tomorrow, you never know!
