Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

Thank you! Keeping everything crossed!

JeOrdaannnn · 09/07/2021 20:11

@tmc2021 Thank you for the welcome 🙂 Are you currently in a cycle or prepping?
It's been an eye opener for me just how different every procedure can really be. I've had a HyCosy that they struggled to get through my cervix with, but then 2 IUIs after that were both straight forward and done within 5-10 mins 🤷🏻‍♀️ Determined to have an embryo transferred this time 💪🏻 x

@heywhatswrongwitu I'm real glad this time round was easier for you and with no problems 🙏🏻 Are you close to finding out your results from your transfer? I can only hope mine goes as smoothly as yours 🙈 My next transfer is on Thursday and I just know I'll end up sobbing again if they can't get through ☹️

@Janefx40 Thank you for the welcome 🙂 I do love my clinic and they're definitely prepared this time 🤞🏻 We just never know until the day I guess! Thankfully we were blessed with mutant ovaries 😂 and we got an abundance of eggs 🥚 What part of your cycle are you currently at?

@beachbum85 Thank you! 🥰 I believe this is truly our last hurdle before having an actual transfer done now... so if the CD worked, I'll just be hoping we get as far as actually getting one In there, regardless of the outcome after for now 🙈 Am I right in thinking you'll be starting prep for EC this month? Or have I mixed you up with someone else 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

XjustagirlX · 09/07/2021 23:54

Hi everyone

Im due to start short protocol as my period starts at the end of July. Hopefully my medication should arrive next week.

Helene2019 · 10/07/2021 17:28

Sorry if I haven't replied to anyone, I can't keep up with this thread it seems like there's a lot of us in July/August! I have fingers crossed for all of you currently with fertilised eggs and also those in TWW. 🤞

heywhatswrongwitu · 10/07/2021 19:01

@jeordaannnn I can test a week today.. luckily work is crazy at the moment so I'm pretty busy!

JeOrdaannnn · 10/07/2021 23:25

@heywhatswrongwitu eeeeep! Got everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🍀
I don't have any patience during the 2ww, at all🙈😅 Hope you've got plenty of distractions to keep you busy!

Bethpalmer20 · 11/07/2021 04:18

Hey everyone!

How are you all getting on?

My period arrived yesterday (bang on time for once!) so I have started progynova with the aim of a lining scan in approx 12 days time.

I don't feel as excited as I did with my fresh transfer which I feel a bit guilty for. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to go through IVF but just feeling a little deflated after a successful first round and then miscarriage..

hoping4baby21 · 11/07/2021 08:55

@Bethpalmer20 haha me too! First thing Saturday it arrived so today I start progynova. Did they say anything about how long of a gap to leave between doses!

I was having an achy discomfort in what could be my ovary so I'm having a baseline scan tomorrow to make sure everything is ok. If not, then the cycle will be cancelled 😞. So I can't quite get excited until after that.

I feel the same where I'm going through the motions this cycle. I was so hopeful and excited for my fresh cycle. It's protection though if this doesn't work I don't need such a high fall back down to reality. Fingers crossed for us 🤞🏽

Aprilia123 · 11/07/2021 11:00

@Bethpalmer20 @Hoping4baby21 Congrats both on starting. Also on second cycle and know how you feel about the excitement of the first vs the reality of the second. Hope it goes well for you both!

After speaking to the lead embryologist we decided to push our two embryos to day 5 rather than transfer. Just had day 3 update and one is 7 cells and one 8 so keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us for Tuesday!

tmc2021 · 11/07/2021 11:02

Hi everyone good news yesterday all set for emby transfer tomorrow then I start the excellent 2ww 🤣💙💕💙💕💙

hoping4baby21 · 11/07/2021 11:20

@Aprilia123 fingers crossed 🤞🏽🤞🏽 for you the way before transfer is so hard.

@tmc2021 good luck for tomorrow! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Csparkles · 11/07/2021 11:25

Hi all, can I join too.. hope everyone is keeping well. I am due to start my first round of NHS funded IVF ICSI end of this month. We have been diagnosed with male factor 100% abnormal forms on all 5 tests so far. My meds are due to arrive tomorrow.. can't wait to get started.

tmc2021 · 11/07/2021 13:53

@Csparkles hey hope you ok what meds are you starting on? Is this your first cycle? X

Csparkles · 11/07/2021 14:53

@tmc2021 Hi, yes this is my first cycle. I will be on a short protocol, starting with Ovaleap in the evening and then add Fyremadel after few days in the morning. Good luck on your embryo transfer tomorrow.. so exciting Smile

Csparkles · 11/07/2021 15:07

Would anyone on here happen to know if there have been any success stories with 100% abnormal morphology which have been solved through ICSI. Just to add we would also be doing the artificial oocyte activation.

SerendipitySunshine · 11/07/2021 15:07

My medication has arrived - I have no idea what to do with it now! Waiting for my drug call. It's all feeling a bit real now!

JeOrdaannnn · 11/07/2021 16:07

@tmc2021 Aw yay! Good luck for tomorrow 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Hope everything goes smoothly and your 2ww isn't absolute torture 🤣

heywhatswrongwitu · 11/07/2021 23:22

@tmc2021 good luck for tomorrow!

Bethpalmer20 · 12/07/2021 09:35

@hoping4baby21 woohoo, look at us, cycle buddies! They said to just spread it out across breakfast, lunch and dinner. So I'm taking one at 8am, 2pm and 8pm.

Hey @csparkles I hope you're doing well. I'm not sure about artificial oocyte activation as that's not something we did but we are also ivf with icsi. We had something like 99% abnormal forms but our first round was successful so it can definitely happen. Sadly ended in miscarriage but they don't believe this was due to the morphology. Stay positive and good luck to you!

@Bethpalmer20 yes that is what I've done although I was a little late taking my evening one. I'm doing 9am, 2pm and 9pm. I can't work out if the slight nausea I've felt yesterday was period or meds related. I hope not meds related because I'm only 1 day in, which will not make for a fun time! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Heading into the clinic today as I had some discomfort last week so they are making sure everything is ok so fingers crossed we get good news.

Bethpalmer20 · 12/07/2021 10:25

@hoping4baby21 timings sound good to me! Hopefully the nausea is just period related. One of my injections for my fresh cycle made me feel permanently nauseous and it was the most horrible feeling! I'll be keeping everything crossed for good news in your scan today! 🤞

Csparkles · 12/07/2021 10:51

@Bethpalmer20 Hi... thank you so much for your reply. It's always encouraging to hear of positive outcomes. Our clinic has advised the artificial oocyte activation as there is a chance we might be faced be zero fertilisation. Wishing you luck on your upcoming frozen transfer.

Alexm06 · 12/07/2021 14:19

Hey all!
I have finally started my period had my scan today and have now started Progynova and have another scan next week. The nurse said transfer will be 28th or 29th at the earliest so it's all happening now I feel a lot less stressed this time probably because it doesn't feel like I'm doing anything apart from taking tablets haha.

Hope all treatment is going well for you guys!

hoping4baby21 · 12/07/2021 14:34

Had my scan this morning and they didn't see anything worrying. I do seem to have a "left over follicle" from my fresh cycle at 12mm she wasn't concerned but did take bloods just be sure it isn't releasing hormones I guess. If I don't get a call back by 6pm then all goes ahead as planned. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

@Alexm06 great news that you started. We are quite close together then including @Bethpalmer20. I estimated my transfer might be on 27th July. I'd prefer it to happen on Wednesday of that week instead, they did say it is possible to push it back a day or two but I wonder if that impacts success at all? Does anyone have experience of this? Of course my lining could not play ball and delay things anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️

@Bethpalmer20 wow that must have been really rough! Hopefully that won't be the case for us on these meds!

Bethpalmer20 · 12/07/2021 14:44

Hey @alexm06 looks like we will be transferring around the same time! Totally know what you mean about feeling less stressed, especially with no injections it doesn't feel like I'm doing much. Although I do have some progesterone injections to take at a later date so haven't got away with them completely!

@hoping4baby21 really glad they didn't find anything worrying! I'm sure pushing it back a day or two wouldn't be a big deal, the clinic wouldn't allow it if they felt it could impact your chances of success!
