Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

@Helene2019 that's amazing! All the best for it today! 😊

Helene2019 · 18/08/2021 11:01

Thank you everyone! I'm heading to the clinic later today. I hate going in with a full bladder because I'm worried I will wee when my legs are in stirrups 😂

Janefx40 · 18/08/2021 12:46

@Helene2019 yay! Great news. Best of luck. You only need your bladder half full so don't drink too much and you'll be fine (says she who got so desperate last time I actually crept out the room to wee after the transfer - they were leaving me to "relax" for 15 mins!)

manny33 · 18/08/2021 12:53

Hi all

We decided to test today 1 day before our OTD and a BFN as we suspected.😞

We won’t give up and will try again.

Wishing you all the very best of luck on your journey and thank u you all for going through this with me. 🙏🏻

Bobtat · 18/08/2021 14:45

@Helene2019 ahhhh wonderful. All the best for today!

beachbum85 · 18/08/2021 14:56

@manny33 I'm so, so sorry it didn't work out this time :( I'm sending you lots of love and positive thoughts for when you try again! I hope you can enjoy the family wedding - take care of yourself xx

Bobtat · 18/08/2021 15:13

@manny33 BFNs are so disappointing - Hope you're doing ok xx

2021babyhope · 18/08/2021 16:26

I think it might unfortunately be a chemical for me... taking some time out to try and process and focus on the next transfer.

Hope everyone's getting on okay in their TWW - enjoyed this thread xx

Helene2019 · 18/08/2021 18:31

@Janefx40 lol, yes I did the same today!

@manny33 @2021babyhope sorry to hear that. IVF is most definitely a marathon rather than a sprint. Good luck in whatever your next steps are.

Janefx40 · 18/08/2021 19:26

@manny33 sorry about the BFN. Always awful even when you expect it.

@2021babyhope sorry about the chemical. Yes take some time to process but we're always here if you need us.

I had my Day 6 scan today. Have about 7 growing follicles between 8-12mm. Would have preferred them to be closer in size but overall ok. Feeling nervous as this is our last ever collection so was considering delaying to let my body rest for a month but I think I'm just panicking.

@Helene2019 congrats on the transfer! Xxx

Bobtat · 19/08/2021 08:19

@2021babyhope so sorry to hear your news - that is so hard to deal with. Hope you are being looked after. X

Bethpalmer20 · 19/08/2021 10:25

@beachbum85 @janefx40 just popped on to see how you were both doing. Glad to see you have both started. I've just had my lining scan so aiming for our FET next week🤞I feel pretty exhausted to be honest. If we are unsuccessful this time I will be definitely giving myself a 6 month break!

So sorry to see another load of BFNs it really is a tough journey😢 and congratulations to the recent couple of positives, its so lovely to see after what has been a pretty unlucky thread!

@2021babyhope I'm so sorry :( that must be incredibly hard and a total mind I'm sure. Take care of yourself and, like others have said, we're here if you need us

@Bethpalmer20 that's so sweet, thanks for popping in to check! Glad to hear you were able to move onto an FET so soon but, yes, I can imagine it being pretty tough!! Very very best of luck and I hope it works this time :) keep us posted xx

@Janefx40 7 growing follicles sounds good and I hope the smaller ones catch up so that you're sure to get them all! Still a week or so on stims too, right? I'm sure the clinic wouldn't have let you go straight away if they thought there was some risk there xx

2021babyhope · 19/08/2021 19:58

Thankyou everyone 🖤 I appreciate it.

I'm still getting positive tests but I've started brown spotting and they're not getting a lot darker in between and for 9dp5dt I'd expect a strong positive, so I'm just waiting tbh for the tests to go back to negative!

Janefx40 · 19/08/2021 22:13

@2021babyhope I'm sorry. It's not a fun place to be. We're all different and I know some people find it easier to keep hoping and others to assume/accept the worst and you know your body best. So I won't press other than to say that you are still quite early.

@Bethpalmer20 thanks for checking in! I can't believe it's already time for your transfer! Really have everything crossed for this one.

@beachbum85 how are stims going? When do you have your scan?

Xxx

beachbum85 · 19/08/2021 23:20

Hi @Janefx40! So far so good with the stims, thanks :) and my headaches have gone now that I'm on a lower dose of Buserelin, so I'm very relieved about that. I have scans booked on Mon, Wed and Fri and then they'll let me know if I'm ready for EC. When's your next one? And how are you feeling? xx

Janefx40 · 20/08/2021 07:33

@beachbum85 glad your headache has gone - mine seems to be permanent. My next scan is Saturday. I'm still nervous about the two cysts because I can definitely feel something on the left. My left ovary is very sensitive because of where it is placed. Fingers crossed all ok for us both!

Xxx

2021babyhope · 20/08/2021 08:48

Thank you @Janefx40 - today is official test day!

I've emailed my clinic to ask their advice - I don't have any Beta tests booked so I think they'll say just wait it out unfortunately.

Do you know if my GP would do a beta test for me?

beachbum85 · 20/08/2021 09:09

Hey @2021babyhope, I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea but I just wanted to say that I can see the line clearly and I really hope it works out for you and you can get some answers soon

2021babyhope · 20/08/2021 09:11

@beachbum85 thank you lovely - such a rollercoaster!

How're you feeling about egg collection? 😊

girljulian · 20/08/2021 10:25

Great news @Helene2019!!

girljulian · 20/08/2021 10:26

@2021babyhope Your GP should do one. Mine did one for me. Sadly BFN and chemical pregnancy, but they booked me in immediately.

girljulian · 20/08/2021 10:31

And @beachbum85 thank you for being such a sweetie on this thread and always checking in with everyone! I have finally got my period today (5 days after I got the blood test BFN) and I can already tell it's going to be awful. Had a bit of a cry about this being the end of the road with this one. I rang my mum about it and she said (trying to be helpful) "both your grandmothers had six children and each of them lost two as babies, you can cope with a chemical pregnancy" which, yeah she's right but Hmm thanks mum.

beachbum85 · 20/08/2021 12:00

@girljulian I'm so sorry it's been confirmed as a BFN and chemical! It's so hard... I had a long, hard cry when I got my period after our last cycle even though it was a straighforward end... Thinking of you and sending you lots of strength xx
Ha the comment from your mum reminded me of the one from mine (also trying to be supportive) when I told her it hadn't worked this time and she said: don't worry, I also had a miscarriage, no problems getting pregnant but many of us have been through a loss too Hmm I've never had a BFP but thanks mum for reminding me that you had no problems getting pregnant?! Anyway, they mean well...
That's so sweet, thanks for saying that :) I think these threads are sometimes a lifesaver so I'm glad we have them for support!

@2021babyhope did you manage to get your GP to agree to a blood test?
I'm feeling fine about egg collection tbh - it's everything that happens after that freaks me out, but I'm trying to take it one step at a time...
We've just been contacted to be participate in a blind research trial around difference embryo incumbator technology, and it's a decision we're not really prepared to make, so I foresee a weekend Confused

beachbum85 · 20/08/2021 12:00

oops... a weekend of research!
