IVF July/August 2021

Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

Do you have to start a new cycle or have you got any frozen?

Thanks v much guys. I am really disappointed as was all geared up, but I do know I've been super fortunate to have two children with an from the one cycle (one fresh and one FET 9 months later) so I can't be too down for too long as I appreciate that is extraordinary luck and I am grateful every day for them.

Yes, I do have two frosties left from that same cycle - my children were the 4AA and 4AB. This one that didn't take was a 4BB and I think we have a 4BC and a morula left - don't know too much about grading but they are not quite so good so I'm not sure how much luck we will have with them.

@Bobtat I'm so sorry. It's a shitty feeling and just because you have kids doesn't mean you're not allowed to feel sad. Fingers crossed for those other embryos.

@Bobtat I'm in London and go to CRGH and before that I was at ARGC. Both excellent clinics. Very different to one another but both have excellent results. Happy to talk more if you want to PM me x

Embryo update - the first hurdle has been crossed, all three have survived to day three. In my last two cycles, day 4 is where they all stop development - so it is hard waiting till day 5 to see if any have survived. Wish they would give a day 4 update!

@Helene2019 that's really good news! I've got everything crossed for you 🥚🤞. I contacted the clinic this morning about the pain & they said they would like me checked over at G.P or A&E no appointments till September even when I explained the situation! So we were getting really to go to A&E when they called with an update & said 1 was clearly the stronger one so they would like me in today, I explained about the pain & they said come In to be assessed by the doctor there & have a scan & if all looks good they will transfer today. Unfortunately the remaining ones are behind & not suitable for freezing.

Does anyone know how long the trigger shot HCG stays in your system for after a fresh transfer? I figured it would be gone at 6dp5dt?

@Reefy - what a stress! Though good news about ET today hope it goes well. My bloating is slowly going, I did have senekot yesterday though as I was so severely constipated (sorry tmi).

@Helene2019 all clear for OHSS they scanned me & all good so the transfer has been done! I wonder if half of that is my problem so think will pop & get something.

@2021babyhope mine was gone when i last checked which was around the 11th day after the trigger

@2021babyhope I would have thought trigger would have been gone by then. Have you been testing early?

@2021babyhope trigger stays in your symptoms for about 14 days I believe so I wouldn't test before then.

@Alexm06 the trigger HCG wouldn't make tests get darker would it do you know?

It's been getting slightly darker since yesterday morning

@2021babyhope no it would be getting lighter as it would be slowly getting lower.

I would say that's a good sign! But don't hold me to it haha

@2021babyhope I tested out my trigger last time and still had a squinter 12 days post trigger which is really 10 days past egg collection. Best of luck xxx

I agree with @Alexm06 that the trigger injection would be making the test lighter each day. Sounds like yours is getting darker 🤞
