@Marvellouslymadmum that's good! I'm sure they will if you don't ovulate. I've lost all hope aswell. Not feeling confident for clomid at all now.

Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/01/2022 11:15

@J90A I just don't want her to say 'I told you it was unlikely to work, you're on your own now' and send me away! I don't think we can afford ivf 😞 xx

J90A · 05/01/2022 11:24

@Marvellouslymadmum no they won't! They should increase your dosage. Are you private or nhs? You get 3 rounds of ivf on the nhs. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/01/2022 13:23

I'm nhs but we won't get any ivf, I have two children from a previous relationship and so does my partner, we don't have any together but we will be discounted because we have them plus we are over the age maximum anyway so either way it wouldn't matter. My only chance would be ivf in another country which I've read good things about but still alot if faff xx

J90A · 05/01/2022 13:51

@Marvellouslymadmum ah ok I didn't realise there was age limit etc. There are other treatments they can try after clomid so don't give up hope! Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/01/2022 13:53

@J90A yes it's different in every area too, some people can only get one round, some more, it's a postcode lottery unfortunately 😞 I'm hoping if it doesn't work they'll try a laparoscopy as I have suspected endometriosis and a hycosy to check for blockages 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xx

J90A · 05/01/2022 14:00

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah it's unfortunate it's not all the same. I am in Scotland too so the guidance differs here.
I am also hoping to get a laparoscopy but I don't think I will get that until ivf I will need to ask again I can never remember once I leave what they have said. I've had a hsg as part of the investigations and they say it increases fertility for 3 months afterwards.

What symptoms do you have for suspected endometriosis? I'm wondering if I also have that due to my auntie having it and wondering if that's why I'm not getting pregnant still even though I'm ovulating. I do have pcos Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/01/2022 14:24

@J90A well I can have irregular cycles but not always, they're very heavy and clotty (sorry) very very painful sometimes from ovulation but always a few days before af backache and abdo pain, gets so bad no normal painkillers touch it have to have prescribed stuff. Hurts to sit down when af is here. Pain during and sometimes after sex. I do have adenomyosis which doesn't help with some of those things but they're more endo related xx

J90A · 05/01/2022 16:32

@Marvellouslymadmum I have heavy painful periods. But I'm not sure if that's the pcos or if it's endo. Xx

Kay00 · 06/01/2022 16:31

Hi ladies! I hope you are both well. Sorry, I keep popping in occasionally - I think because I'm not getting the notifications.

@J90A, i'm sorry you're not feeling confident about the Clomid anymore. I feel the same. Do you mind me asking (you both) what Clomid cycle you are on now?

I'm sorry to hear you think you could have endometriosis @Marvellouslymadmum xx It sounds tough. I don't think I have it, but its one of those things that could be lurking without causing any obvious issues.

I'm currently 12DPO on my 4th Clomid cycle and although I haven't tested I'm sure I'm not pregnant. When AF arrives I will call the fertility clinic to arrange an appointment with the consultant to discuss 'next steps'. I wonder if she will suggest a Lap, or whether we will just be looking at the IVF route.

I have been pouring myself into IVF research and I'm learning a lot. I'm hoping to be able to access the 1 x free cycle on the NHS, but will use savings and pay private if I need to.

Thank you also to whoever posted the ITV Sharon Marshall, I just watched it and cried my eyes out xx

J90A · 06/01/2022 16:41

@Kay00
Hey I hope your well

I'm on clomid cycle 7 (ovulated 4) took my last tablets today feeling very tired and down hoping it's just the clomid and will ease off.

That's what I plan to do this cycle, not test I think coz I've basically gave up it should be easier this month to not test!

I feel I should start looking at ivf it seems so complicated with all the jargon I see. Oh it's so sad isn't it! And so true you never see anyone speak about it. Xx

Kay00 · 07/01/2022 08:31

@J90A I don't feel like I need to test either, I'm 99% sure I'm not pregnant, and my temp dropped today which kind of sealed the fate.

I agree IVF is co complicated! And no one talks about it, but I found the following recourses really helpful and I'm feeling much more empowered:

theduff.co.uk/ - really simple to understand website
w3.abdn.ac.uk/clsm/opis/tool/ivf1# - tool to work out your chance of success in IVF
www.thefertilitypodcast.com/podcasts/page/2/ - Podcast with real women's experiences

J90A · 08/01/2022 17:56

@Kay00 thanks Kay! I will have a look at them. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/01/2022 12:51

@J90A it could be either!

@Kay00 thank you, I'm cycle 2 of clomid now, though it should've been cycle 3 but 1 was mega long (60 days) and this one will be longer than average (probably around 36-38 days) so hoping when I speak to the consultant she will up the dose!

There are lots of ladies going through ivf on other threads I'm on so I've picked up quite a bit of info
Xx

J90A · 10/01/2022 13:06

I had my scan today CD 11 14mm follicle. Not getting another one until next Monday which I'm a bit disappointed. But will find out then if I ovulate.

@Marvellouslymadmum how you getting on with this month? Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/01/2022 23:23

@J90A at least they're scanning you to check! I had my day 21 bloods today but know they won't show anything as I've had super high opk yesterday and today and my temp rise right up today too, had loads of twinges in my right ovary so I think at least I'm ovulating earlier than last month even if it's still later than I should be! Xx

J90A · 11/01/2022 06:46

@Marvellouslymadmum they didn't scan me when I was on 50mg either. That's good what day you on. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/01/2022 08:03

@J90A I don't think I'll get scans on a higher dose either but we will see, I'm cd22 today and even higher opk so it's looking much better than last month!

J90A · 11/01/2022 08:13

@Marvellouslymadmum how come? That's good!! Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/01/2022 10:33

@J90A because it's nhs and they don't seem that fussed about monitoring xx

J90A · 11/01/2022 11:01

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm nhs too! I know that they said when your on 150mg you have to get monitored. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/01/2022 11:03

@J90A ahh ok so it may depend if they put me on 100 or 150mg then xx

J90A · 11/01/2022 12:14

@Marvellouslymadmum you might still get it with 100mg don't see why not xx

J90A · 11/01/2022 12:15

@Marvellouslymadmum I think they will go up to 100mg rather than jump up because they need to be careful they don't overstimulate you. Xx

Kay00 · 11/01/2022 14:31

Hmm... I was monitored on my first two cycles, the first was 50mg and the second was 25mg. Once they were happy I was ovulating and not over stimulated they stopped monitoring me.

@Marvellouslymadmum good news that you might be about to ovulate earlier this time!

I'm starting cycle 5 at the moment, but with 5 days of spotting I'm struggling to work out id CD1 has happened yet. Its annoying, and confusing when I need to start Clomid on CD2.

My first 2 days of spotting were very light watery pink. Since then it has been a bit darker, but not enough for a pad, no fresh blood and no big clots. So I'm a bit confused.
