Update.. just had a scan etc. There keeping me on 50mg as it worked first two time but I'm getting scans now instead of the grime tracking

J90A · 21/09/2021 09:32

*urine tracking

Clomid1 · 22/09/2021 14:39

@J90A so what happens with this cycle?

J90A · 22/09/2021 14:50

@Clomid1 I've started progesterone again to being on a bleed. Then start clomid again day 3-7 as normal (still on the 50mg). Then I will go for scans to check for ovulation rather than doing the weekly urine tracking. X

Clomid1 · 22/09/2021 15:00

@J90A oh wow I never knew prog was used for that. How long does it usually take to bring on a bleed?

At least with scans you can be sure you ovulated. I am just guessing with opks really because I only had the one blood test. Finished for this cycle now to wait to see what next week holds 😞.

J90A · 22/09/2021 16:49

@Clomid1 take it for 7 days then get a bleed 7 days after that so long!! Blood tests are good they can tell better than urine samples. With them I do them weekly then freeze at home and hand it after 4 weeks then it takes two weeks to get the results by then my period has been and gone lol or onto the next cycle. 🤦‍♀️😂

J90A · 23/09/2021 09:02

I am sooo down today. Doesn't help my job is so quiet just now and I have way too much time to sit and think. (I also work as a maternity secretary) don't feel it affects but I think it must on some level. I'm considering taking some time off work as I'm miserable but I don't know if that will even help. Maybe give me more time to think. Anyone else had time off in this journey ? Xxx

Clomid1 · 23/09/2021 14:55

@J90A i completely understand I am also pretty down about the whole thing. It’s made worse by the fact your taking prog which really affects your moods. I wouldn’t take a break from work personally because its a big distraction.

If you can maybe plan a few holidays to take your mind off things

J90A · 24/09/2021 13:22

@Clomid1 I had to go home yesterday as I was crying for no reason lol took today off back Monday. I have underlying mental health problems and I've come off the medication at the fertility drs suggestion. I think I'm triggered by the stress I agree is a good distraction so will hopefully tell better by Monday x

s154 · 27/09/2021 15:05

@J90A I have had time off as my job is quite demanding in financial services. Had a HSG today and told one tube is blocked. I am feeling so upset as I imagine the only way forward is IVF now x does anyone know as it's weeks before I can speak to a consultant

J90A · 27/09/2021 16:57

@s154 I think I'm gona do the same soon. The more appointments there are the more stressful I find it. Aw I'm so sorry. I don't know but I'm sure they can possibly do surgery to unblock it? There is something called laparoscopy? To remove but of endometriosis they could maybe do the same with that? Xx

s154 · 27/09/2021 17:55

@J90A I had a month signed off work earlier in the year with the stress of work, TTC and a few other health issues. It is so stressful I would consider it.

From reading online they can't unblock it so it makes sense why I didn't catch on the first 3 months of clomid. Wish I did the HSG earlier as feel like I have wasted 4 cycles of clomid

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/09/2021 17:57

@s154 sorry your tube is blocked, there are things they can do, plus you can still get pregnant with one. A laparoscopy won't unblock a tube unless it's endometriosis blocking it as far as I'm aware but they're also pretty hard to get one done on nhs as they're so expensive!

I had my phone call today and start clomid next cycle 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

s154 · 27/09/2021 18:42

@Marvellouslymadmum good luck on clomid! I wasn't sure if I need a follow up lap and dye ? Given I am on 4th cycle of clomid I would probably push for ivf once I'm through my 6months on clomid, although I'm 26 so not sure if should wait it out longer before that!

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/09/2021 18:52

@s154 thank you. a hycosy is the one with the dye, they can try and flush the tubes at the same time to see if it clears the blockage too. How long have you been ttc? It can depend on that as to if you should push yet or give it more time

s154 · 27/09/2021 20:26

@Marvellouslymadmum that sounds like what I had today, they didn't have any luck flushing the blockage out. I'm about 15 months in so I'll be close to 18m once I have finished clomid. I finally have an NHS appointment on Wednesday so I will ask about ivf wait times and start mentally preparing myself

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/09/2021 20:36

@s154 hycosy and hsg are pretty much the same thing, I think the Ivf waiting times depend on your area but talking to others on these threads most wait between 1-5 months from being referred so not too long. 18 months isn't that long and you're still young so I wouldn't worry about rushing into ivf just yet. It can take a good couple of years to happen at any age 🤞🏻

J90A · 28/09/2021 16:01

@s154 yeah I feel like because clomid worked twice I thought they was one less stress then it stopped working which I didn't know could even happen it's got me even more stressed for this month because it might not even work to ovulate never mind actually getting pregnant. I've ended up with a virus so had a few days off but defo thinking about longer term for this. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow! Xxx

Kay00 · 29/09/2021 00:03

Hi ladies!
1st Clomid cycle here, 50mg per day.

I had my floof scan yesterday (CD15) and it showed I had a nice thick lining... but I had three large follicles:
R: 21cm, 15.5cm
L: 14.5cm

She said anything over 14cm was a risk for producing and egg during ovulation, which (based on 21cm follicle) Is likely to be within 24 hours. So I could release 3 eggs... and risk triplets.

Obviously I don't want triplets but I also don't want to waste a cycle, and tbh we had already DTD loads so... we DTD again last night and this morning 🙈

The nurse said that if my progesterone on CD21 test shows I ovulated then next cycle i need to take 25mg per day of clomid as I actually over stimulated 😆

J90A · 29/09/2021 13:06

@Kay00 oh wow! Amazing news it's worked so well! Keep us posted. Imagine triplets lol. Xx

Kay00 · 29/09/2021 15:24

@J90A OMG triplets might be a step too far - haha! Its first week back in the office this week and a colleague of mine walked in and announced she is pregnant... with twins! Obviously I'm thrilled for her, but now terrified it could happen to me haha! Grin

J90A · 29/09/2021 16:12

@Kay00 haha do you have any kids now? Or is this one your first?

s154 · 29/09/2021 16:28

So I spoke to a consultant today who explained as I have a blocked tube I have not much hope of conceiving as the blocked tube will affect the working tube . My only option is surgery to likely remove the tube so I have been told to stop taking clomid. Feeling really deflated as I have wasted all this time and now a 4 month wait for surgery

J90A · 29/09/2021 17:44

I'm so so sorry @s154 take this time to recover and get a break for the emotional rollercoaster every month. Plenty self care ❤️ xx

Kay00 · 29/09/2021 21:28

@s154 so sorry to hear that 😔 at least you found out now before you used all your Clomid cycles up.

@J90A this would be my first 🤞🤞🤞
