@Lou8319 @6543336787gesgvjhg how are you both doing? You must be really close now to the finish line!
X

Lou8319 · 28/11/2021 09:54

@Sungirl11 I’m week 39 today! Can’t believe we’re nearly there, it’s gone so quickly.

Getting rather uncomfortable now, but only 1 part engaged and no Brixton hicks yet, so don’t think we’ll be early.

Had midwife on Friday and my blood pressure was higher than normal, and after measuring spot on every week, now measuring one week behind, so for a growth scan this week and an extra midwife for bp check. Just as I thought I’d got through normally!

Lou8319 · 28/11/2021 09:54

Braxton hicks - not Brixton hahahah

Sungirl11 · 28/11/2021 10:07

@Lou8319 yay!!! You are there!!
I haven't had any Braxton hicks either!
I measure a bit bigger than average and my little one in the scans also measures bigger but who knows!
I am almost 34w and have my apt on Tuesday so will see how it's going!
Excited to see your wee ones! 🥰

Lou8319 · 30/11/2021 10:00

Had our growth scan and they were all happy with it. Was really reassuring as they checked all the vital organs, blood flow, placenta etc.

And we got to see our little one again, and got told they have hair already!

@Lou8319 @Sungirl11 good to hear your both ok.

Can't believe you're nearly 40 weeks. I'm 38 plus 1. I've had two growth scans as they said he was small but they are happy with him now. Got two sweeps booked in next week and then induction booked for 14th December (day before due date) but hoping I will start naturally. Fingers crossed.

Lou8319 · 03/12/2021 19:57

@6543336787gesgvjhg you might beat me then, they won’t book an induction until 12 days after my due date, so 17th.

And they’ve not booked any sweeps or anything. I’m seeing the midwife next Friday for a check up on measurements, if I’ve not had the baby by then.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 03/12/2021 21:59

@Lou8319 it's mad how different areas/hospitals are so different isn't it!

He's moving around lots which is good. I've had slight period type pains but that's it.

Are you struggling to sleep? I get up 3 times in the night and my left side (the way I sleep) is in bits some nights. I roll onto my back and hubby tells me off haha xx

@Lou8319 I'm sure baby will arrive soon ❤️

Lou8319 · 06/12/2021 09:25

@6543336787gesgvjhg I get up
once for the toilet, but I wake up multiple
times to turn as my legs get sore. The last week or so I’ve also developed carpel tunnel at night so very sore hands too. And some nights I have terrible hot flushes!

Just when you want a good nights sleep before baby comes you seem to have your worst!

Due date was yesterday but my husband had booked a lovely lunch out so we weren’t just sat waiting.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 07/12/2021 12:54

@Lou8319 hope everything is ok. Hubby is getting no sleep either as he says he can just hear me tossing and turning all night.

I've been to get a sweep today. Couldn't do it as she thought as too early but said he is engaged, felt his head and very low down and cervix is thin which is good! Also lost my plug last night.

Hope everyone is ok. Getting period cramps again today x

Lou8319 · 09/12/2021 08:35

Had the worst nights sleep yet! I’ve now got pains in the arch of my foot which are worse at night, and baby decided to spend about 3 hours somersaulting.
I’m officially ready for them to come out now!

6543336787gesgvjhg · 09/12/2021 10:05

@Lou8319 do you feel really emotional?

They couldn't do either of my booked sweeps. Just got back and couldn't find my cervix. Think I cried because I will be induced and hoped to start naturally before Tuesday. Also realised now the induced can take longer than I thought. So even longer until we meet him! As long as he's heathy and happy. Just disappointed if that makes sense. X

OP posts:
Lou8319 · 09/12/2021 12:44

I’ve been emotional for weeks!
I’m not keen on being induced as it can take longer, be more painful and there’s a higher chance of assisted delivery. I’ve been told if I’m induced just go for epidural.

I’ve got midwife tomorrow and she said she’d offer a sweep. Although she also said they are phasing them out across the nhs due to the Group b strep risk, so I don’t know what to do.

Sungirl11 · 13/12/2021 14:10

@Lou8319 @6543336787gesgvjhg how are you both doing??

Lou8319 · 13/12/2021 15:04

@Sungirl11 still waiting here!
Im not great with surprises normally, so waiting for something to happen is torture!

Decided with my midwife for no sweep, so will just wait and see. And I’ve tried the old wives tales and none of them work either!

Lou8319 · 16/12/2021 04:56

Well we have our little miracle baby. A little girl called Delilah.
The birth was not the easiest. went natural labour for the best part of 19 hours, to then need an emergency c-section.
But it really is true how you forget every painful bit of it the minute you see them.

Sungirl11 · 16/12/2021 05:06

@Lou8319 super congratulations!!!!!!! My best friend went into labour yesterday too 😍
Sometimes things don't go as planned but the most important is to have her here and you are both ok and safe.
Take time to recover and let others take care of you too.
Very jealous to be honest! Can't wait to have my little one 🥰 (only 36+2) haha
Big hugs ❤️

Lou8319 · 19/12/2021 22:20

@Sungirl11 enjoy the time you have left before no sleep and sore nipples take over.

beachbum85 · 04/01/2022 12:10

A belated Happy New Year to all - I hope you had a good break and the year started out well for all of you! I just wanted to come back and thank you for all the support last year :)

Huge congratulations @Lou8319 and welcome little Delilah xx
@Sungirl11 and @6543336787gesgvjhg I'm sure congratulations are in order too :)

I hope everyone else is doing well and for all of those still waiting or starting new cycles in 2022 - I'm keeping everything tightly crossed that this is your year Star

Lou8319 · 10/01/2022 16:32

@beachbum85 thanks! It’s amazing and tiring and stressful all in one.

Hope everyone is doing ok this year

Sungirl11 · 20/08/2022 08:24

Hey everyone!
@Lou8319 @beachbum85 @6543336787gesgvjhg how are you all doing??

beachbum85 · 26/08/2022 15:31

Hi @Sungirl11 !

Nice to hear from you 😊
I'm well thanks! A lot has changed since the last time I was on here... We now have a 3-month old little boy, after our second round of IVF in August/September last year. I sometimes still can't believe it worked for us...

How are you? And everyone else?
I hope all those with babies are keeping well, and especially that there's been some good news for those who weren't lucky on this thread xx

Sungirl11 · 26/08/2022 15:45

@beachbum85 wow congratulations!!
We are doing really well! Leia is 7 months now and is an amazing pickle! Always happy and growing really fast! ❤️

granddesigns · 26/08/2022 17:01

Thanks for reawakening the thread with updates - by way of our own update, our March 2021 cycle was successful and we met our long awaited little girl in November a couple of weeks early, and in a hurry! She is wonderful and growing into a little person as the days go by. I'm trying to enjoy the last bits of mat leave before going back to work and starting to think in my mind when we might start exploring the treatment options for our Frosties given past lack of success with FET but that we have a number of potentials from the successful fresh cycle last year!

Congratulations to those who have been successful on this thread and thinking of those still exploring options or undergoing treatment in pursuit of growing their families.
