@6543336787gesgvjhg same! 33 haha
I was wandering if maybe it was because of age too, as my friend is over 35 and they are having more scans and visits because of that.
But obviously not that haha
@PurpleUnicorn01 I had one at 7w too. And paid for two more private ones... £79 both. 🙈

Lou8319 · 09/06/2021 20:40

@Sungirl11 I’m 37. there was a
Box the midwife ticked for IVF on the paperwork in the big book you get from the midwife, which she said just automatically led to a Consultant appointment.

I’m not having any more scans or anything at the no though. I’m not entirely sure what difference it’s going to make seeing a consultant at 26 weeks

Sungirl11 · 09/06/2021 20:46

@Lou8319 yes it was ticked on mine too, the whole fresh/frozen, donor or not etc.
But she did say I will only see her the whole time. Here they are a caseloading team, so the same midwife has a group of mothers all their journey including after birth. She said it's new things that are being introduced. Maybe that is the reason, no clue. Haha
I have my scan at 12w and then I see her again at 16w. And i have her number that I can call when ever I need. She also said if some day I need just to have a cup of tea and a chat she will make a space for me. It was really nice to be honest

Lou8319 · 09/06/2021 21:33

Yes I’ve got one midwife the whole way through which is nice. I should have an appointment wk 16-18 and I’m now 14+3 and not heard yet. My 20 wk scan is wk 21 as I’m away was 19 and 20

Crazydoglady123 · 09/06/2021 21:50

@Sungirl11 what a bargain on those scans!! Your midwife sounds lovely.

Mine will be 2 mins up the road at a small hospital. In our area it's the place to give birth (if low risk) or get moved to after giving birth as they're all so lovely there. When I had DS I had something called Group B Strep so we had to stay in for 48 hours for monitoring so moved from county hospital to this one the next day so it'll be nice going back there. With twins apparently you have appointments/scans every 4 weeks throughout pregnancy

Sungirl11 · 09/06/2021 22:10

@Crazydoglady123 yes! I booked at 3am for the same day online. It was 10% disc and we got another free scan in 15 days. The place is called "Numi Scan" not sure if there are any more, this one is in Stansted.
It was great to be honest!

I got asked for a urine sample to check if I have Group B S... they treat it at birth so baby doesn't catch it right (if you have it)?
We are thinking about home birth, the midwife mentioned this and told me to think about it, but talked all about the benefits. Haha I was scared but i've been reading so much and it looks safe and goes with what I wanted for my birth. So if it all goes smooth we might do that. Will see haha

PurpleUnicorn01 · 09/06/2021 22:46

@Crazydoglady123 that's amazing. I really want 2 but im with the nhs and im 34 so im not sure if they will allow it.

Crazydoglady123 · 10/06/2021 07:49

@Sungirl11 oh you're not a million miles from me then. Stansted is my local airport! Yeah with GBS you have to have iv antibiotics while you're in labour as it's when your waters break it can be passed onto the baby. We only found out as I was overdue and they did a urine sample so was so lucky. Wow a joke birth! I was born at home and a friend had her baby at home. I had my DS with just gas and air which I think you can have at home too? My friend hired the pool too so had a water birth.

@PurpleUnicorn01 I'm 33 but private and they ultimately let you have the final say

Sungirl11 · 10/06/2021 08:28

@Crazydoglady123 yes! Water birth and gas and that. All allowed.
They just need to check the house conditions and location etc, but I believe it's protocol as we have a new big house so shouldn't be a problem haha
I'm also 33 and could choose if we wanted 2 transferred going private. But my husband was really against it so we did one haha

Crazydoglady123 · 10/06/2021 09:29

@Sungirl11 sorry just seen I spelt joke instead of home birth 🙈 That's so exciting for you! When's your due date again? Yeah I'm kind of thinking we was slightly crazy going for two but it's really weird, I felt really low at the beginning of the year with it all and had a spiritual reading and the lady pulled up needles and the number two. She couldn't say what it meant whether it be twins or the number two being poignant but in my head I just knew we needed to transfer two ☺️

Sungirl11 · 10/06/2021 09:38

@Crazydoglady123 I got it haha!
Our due date according to IVF is the 11/01. But this will be adjusted on my 12w NHS scan with baby measurements.
He (or she) is measuring to date for now though.
We might be due quite similar as I believe twins are due a bit earlier right? Xx

Crazydoglady123 · 10/06/2021 12:01

@Sungirl11 yep...due 8 days after DS birthday (27/12) 🙈 twins due on 04/01 atm! One is measuring a few days behind but apparently that's normal

Sungirl11 · 10/06/2021 17:41

Girls... have you heard this song?
"Made for me to love" from RaeLynn
I can't stop listening to it 🙈
So in love ❤️
(Needed to share) xx

6543336787gesgvjhg · 11/06/2021 15:13

@Sungirl11 I had a listen last night Smile

Guys I've prob said this before but I'm still not 100% on having the jab. Was meant to have it last week but they cancelled on me. Got it in the morning. Have you guys had it and been fine? I've watched videos and listened to stuff but it's all just so new and worries me. Taken us 3 years to get here so just worried. Midwife said they recommend it. What have you guys done?

Thank you xxxx

@6543336787gesgvjhg I spoke to two midwives (my one and a friend). They both told me they recommend it but it's a very personal decision.
My midwife told me if I was a bit unsure to wait until second trimester when I knew my baby is all ok and it's all going fine. As there have been births from women that got it in second trimester and it's all been ok.
The answer was a bit "as midwives we have to trust in science" haha
We will get it after 12w when we know it's all ok. But again, if you are not 100% and can wait and take precautions (as catching covid pregnant is really bad) I wouldn't do it.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 11/06/2021 17:13

Thank you @Sungirl11 feel like it's just put on us to make the decision. But only feel this way because of the media attention!!

I am in the second trimester so feel more comfortable now 😆😆

@6543336787gesgvjhg I had the Pfizer when I was 10 weeks, no side effects.

I’d checked the nhs website, that said it was perfectly safe and my midwife also said they advised to have it.

It is a personal thing though.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 11/06/2021 19:34

@Lou8319 thank you I'm going to have it tomorrow as long as they have the right jab there haha

Hi All,

Hope you are all doing okay.

I will be having my 1st injection 1st July argh! Excited and nervous.

Sungirl11 · 14/06/2021 14:04

@6543336787gesgvjhg how are you? How was your jab? Hope you are feeling ok.

@PurpleUnicorn01 that was quick!! Woho! Exciting 😍

PurpleUnicorn01 · 14/06/2021 14:13

I know @Sungirl11 i feel like it has come quickly since all the tests were completed. I think all the months of tests etc is the longest bit. Seems pretty smooth sailing after all those bumps lol

6543336787gesgvjhg · 15/06/2021 20:50

@PurpleUnicorn01 it will fly by. I can't believe I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. After all the wait it's mad and all the injections are a think of the past and forgotten.

@Sungirl11 hey thanks for asking. Jab went fine, hurt for a day but now all fine. Strange I don't feel sick or anything now but read that the second trimester is like that. More energy etc... remind me how many weeks you are?

On Saturday my two best friends made me a hamper up, bio oil, a pregnant day by day book, my favourite chocolates, a dad to be t shirt for hubby, face masks etc was so lovely. I'm so glad it wasn't anything for baby just feels too soon for all of that. Do you guys feel the same? Xxx

@6543336787gesgvjhg i'm 10w today! I haven't felt sick or anything at all, only the migraine at 6w and that is it.
We bought a home doppler on gumtree for £10 and we heard the heart beat today. It was really clear and nice to hear.
And... from week 9 to 10 I have grown a bump... I am not skinny but i've always had a flat stomach, and everyone has noticed it haha 🙈
We have the harmony test and scan tomorrow morning.

I'm glad you are feeling ok after the jab, i'm planning on having it at 12w too.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Lou8319 · 21/06/2021 10:28

Morning all, hope everything is ok for everyone whatever stage you’re in.

Is anyone else finding all the waiting between appointments and results etc completely intolerable!?!?! I thought the two week wait was bad, but each time the waiting gets longer.

Sungirl11 · 21/06/2021 13:42

@Lou8319 you should be having an appointment soon right?
How are you doing?
I think the more it goes the less monitored it is so yes it takes ages to get from one thing to another 🙈
We've had regular appointments with all the testing etc and from next week which is our first NHS scan then it will just be weeks and weeks of wait until we next see someone.
Xx
