Thanks so much, congrats to you too. We are close then I am nearly 5 weeks now 😊

I'm having quite a few symptoms. Struggling with sleeping through the night (hence this message!) Getting really hot flushes esp at night to the point I have a fan in my bedroom 🤣 going to the bathroom a lot & definitely have an increased appetite. Waking up hungry for the first time in my life! No morning sickness yet (I've read 8 wks onwards is the most common?) Hoping to avoid it of course. But have felt nauseous & certain foods are no longer appealing! Crazy how your body changes so quickly. This is my 1st BFP, ever after TTC for nearly 3 years.

Is your 1st scan next week? Have you been in this position before? I'm definitely anxious about the 7 wk scan, but for now am trying just to stay as relaxed as possible & be healthy. Back to work tomorrow (from home for now thank goodness) so will be a distraction.

One of my good friends just gave birth to healthy identical twin boys after IVF! Their first cycle! My cousin's partner just had a baby boy after their 3rd cycle. They had a terrible time including a MC after their 2nd cycle & surgery due to complications I love to hear IVF success stories because we all know what we have had to go through to get there. . . Fingers crossed for more on here soon xx

Thank you @lclarke11 💕

For anyone wanting distractions during the tww, I have recently started listening to audio books when I can't sleep. 'Greenlights' by Matthew Mcounaghey is lovely, so uplifting and of course that voice is so soothing 😍 It helps me drift off to sleep every time and has some really nice tips for being positive (without preaching at you!) xx

@Bella1984 I've woke up this morning so tired and then so tired before bed. I sleep right through luckily but always been like that.

Yes first scan, first ever BFP, been TTC for around 3 years too. Been married just over 4 so seems a crazy amount of time.

Think what I'm struggling with is believing it's real... I'm hoping the first scan it will feel more real. I think as well because we're not telling anyone it's harder and we aren't really talking about it either. Think it's been a big part of us for so long we're just waiting for confirmation everything is ok if that makes sense x

@6543336787gesgvjhg I understand you 100%, we sound like we have had fairly similar experiences. I think any couple who has a BFP with IVF will be so cautious until the first scan , and beyond. It doesnt feel real to me either, I keep looking at the photo of my tests!

You're so lucky you sleep through, mine has been terrible. The tww was my nerves & now its my bladder and temperature mainly! Hopefully it will improve. I will be having a power nap over my lunch break today! 😴

My husband is extremely private about ivf, maybe as it's him that has the issues which is awful as I have never made him feel guilty, just bad luck. I've told him to say its me if he wants but he wouldn't do that. Only his mum knows, not even his best friend. I am quite different in that I am very close to my family (one of 5) so they have supported me the whole way through. I also have some amazing friends with children who know we've been trying (they all had multiple kids so easily, people don't realise how lucky they are eh)

So everything crossed for us both, positive thinking 🙏 xx

You're totally right @Bella1984 - 7 week scan was wonderful and reassuring and settled my nerves for about 24 hours! We saw a clear heartbeat and everything was in the right place but it's always the next hurdle.... still doesn't feel real! This week we come off progesterone support and every twinge still makes me worry! I've been keeping a low profile to try and stay sane, generally tired by evening but symptoms wise ok so far - eating a a lot and a bit queasy if I'm hungry but so far so good which is good but doesn't help with the worry!

Bella1984 · 20/04/2021 12:48

@granddesigns yes same here RE eating more and also a bit nauseous. Good signs I think 🤞

So have you had your 7 week scan already then? Congrats! Amazing news, definitely a big hurdle to get over isn't it.

I came off progesterone the day of my ODT, it's so nice not to be on any injections / medications isn't it!

Waiting for the General Manager of my fertility clinic to call me back regarding my shielding letter for work. Shouldn't be this hard work! Hopefully get it sorted soon.

Do you work? Have they been supportive? x

Sungirl11 · 20/04/2021 12:56

Hi ladies!
So that is EC done, out of the 7 follicles I had they could collect 6 eggs. So not too bad. That is all we have! And it was looking so good before we started ei! Aw well.
We will get a call tomorrow afternoon to see how many have fertilised and then Thursday, Friday updates. And we have transfer on Sunday if there is anything ti transfer ofc.
I'm feeling really well, very mild sort of period pain. A bit disappointed with the number but not much I can do.
Hoping for one or two to make it nicely (and praying).
Big hugs xx

Crazydoglady123 · 20/04/2021 13:04

Glad to hear it went well @Sungirl11. I know it's hard but it only takes one and quality over quantity. Everything crossed for you 🤞

Bella1984 · 20/04/2021 13:40

Hi @Sungirl11

Don't be too disheartened! I had 10 good follicles but only 5 eggs collected (long story in previous post)

All 5 fertilised, 4 made it to embryos and one day 5 to transfer. Currently nearly 5 weeks pregnant after BFP last week.

So there is always hope! I was so so sore after my first EC (10 eggs) but very little pain after more recent one. I think it depends on how many eggs collected, if you have fluid, who the consultant is etc!

Everything crossed for you xx

@TTCBabyH

Congratulations!

Took me a while to find the thread again.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/04/2021 14:13

@6543336787gesgvjhg yay congratulations!

Gosh lots of bfp on here. Pleased for you all.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 20/04/2021 14:35

@PurpleUnicorn01 thank you. Glad you found the new post. What stage are you at now?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/04/2021 14:46

I am miles away from you guys yet. I have my second appointment next week where they are supposed to tell me what treatment I can have.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 20/04/2021 16:38

@PurpleUnicorn01 not too long to wait. I think we had that meeting on 15th Jan so hopefully won't be too much longer for you.

@Sungirl11 glad to hear your EC went well. Fingers crossed for lots of fertilised eggs 😄

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/04/2021 17:03

@6543336787gesgvjhg you are with the nhs too right? I hope there isn't a long wait.

Sungirl11 · 20/04/2021 17:35

Hi girls!
@Bella1984 i read your post of ovulating early! Can't think how you must have felt. But i'm so glad the one had to be the ONE.

Thank you all for your best wishes. I really hope that they are good and we get one or two good ones. I just want my little miracle Daffodil

6543336787gesgvjhg · 20/04/2021 19:25

@PurpleUnicorn01 yes through NHS funding but it is a private clinic - Fertility Partnership they do all the scans etc at the clinic or satellite offices. Nothing to do with a hospital

Hi @Sungirl11

Yes when I had 12 good follicles the day before it was pretty heartbreaking. I very rarely cry but when I came round after the sedation I burst into tears when they told me! We had gotten 10 eggs in first EC last year and that hadn't been enough for us. Seemingly MFI (abnormal sperm morphology for us) affects how many embryos make it from day 3 to day 5 and also how high a grade they are. Our embryologist told us this i hadn't known that the first cycle. So to only get 5 eggs and have 6lbs of fluid on my womb was not the news we had hoped for! The staff were lovely and so supportive. The consultant held my hand while I cried 🥰 so really against all the odds we have got our BFP! I hope you do too xx

Sungirl11 · 20/04/2021 20:09

@Bella1984 thank you for all that info! I had no idea.
You have been very lucky seeing how unfortunate it was all the way! I'm so happy honestly, it had to be Smile

I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon to get an update on how many mature and fertilised.. i'm scared to death Confused

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/04/2021 21:20

@Sungirl11 i hope it goes well for you tmrw. Smile

Crazydoglady123 · 20/04/2021 21:31

@Bella1984 what a journey you've been on!

First stims injection done tonight! I felt so stressed leading up to it as the pen I find sooo complicated compared to the buserelin 🙈

6543336787gesgvjhg · 20/04/2021 21:40

@Crazydoglady123 that does look complicated mine weren't like that at all other than the trigger

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/04/2021 21:44

@Crazydoglady123 hope it goes well.

Bella1984 · 20/04/2021 23:50

@Sungirl11yes, I would say very unlucky to begin with but so fortunate to have gotten to this point given it was less than straightforward! (My life never is 🙈)
I found the waiting between the EC and the ET the hardest on both cycles actually. After going through so much everyone deserves at least a chance at transfer 🤞 hope you get good news tomorrow x

Bella1984 · 20/04/2021 23:56

@Crazydoglady123 (awesome name btw, massive dog lover here, we rescued a little fur baby last April and she's the best thing for us, like my therapy dog 🥰)

Your injections are very different to mine! I was on Fyrmadel x 2 every morning and then 1 x menopur every evening. The only pen injection was the Trigger shot for me (Ovitrelle) 36 hours before the EC.

I did all the injections in my stomach I prefer it to the leg for some reason. I only did the trigger shot in my thigh. They are a pain, I lay down for all mine this cycle after a fainting incident on the 1st morning of my 1st cycle. My husband found me on the bedroom floor 😱 because my BMI is a little high (28) I had to do 2 fyrmadel in a row, I actually hated them. The menopur were no issue for me.

A journey indeed, the end result will make it all worth it xx
