Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

Yeah from what I remember last time egg collection was day 1. So your day 5 will be Saturday. Exciting that you have the go ahead for collection!

Bit lost on the acronyms! What are OTD and ODT?

StayingPositive8 · 16/08/2020 17:25

@Lepatz Day 1 is the day after egg collection from my treatment plan. I had egg collection on the Saturday and embryo transfer on the Thursday (Day 5). Best of luck for the collection!

@loulamay OTD is 'official test day'

kikisparks · 16/08/2020 19:58

@Lepatz day 1 was the day after collection here too. Egg collection on Wednesday and, unless something awful happens and we end up with no embryos, transfer is tomorrow (Day 5). You can ask the embryologist on the day. That’s so exciting you have your trigger today and egg collection booked!

@StayingPositive8 good luck for tomorrow, you’ve done really well holding out to OTD!

loulamay · 16/08/2020 20:19

@80SM - my OTD is technically next Thursday - my clinic do a beta blood test 7 days after transfer. It seems really early to me though! I did test at home last time and got a very faint line but the beta was pretty low (although did double over 48 hours) and then the home tests didn't get much stronger, so when I went for my six-week scan there wasn't anything to see.

I think I might wait a couple more days (I have the form to get a blood test which I can take in whenever) this time round and test at home. Possibly 9dp5dt if I can wait that long! Maybe 8dp...!

I've also had a very small amount of light pink discharge today and some twinges which I'm really hoping is implantation. Trying not to obsess... easier said than done...

West2401 · 16/08/2020 21:35

Hope everyone is finding everything ok!
I'm on day 5 of STIMS started cetrotide today and I'm shocked at how exhausted I've been. Having afternoon naps and so so bloated. Nausea is coming and going but I've had really bad back ache. Going in for my first scan tomorrow fingers crossed it's headed in the right direction. On short protocol so if everything goes to plan retrieval is just over a week away...just got to be extra careful as I have PCOS so big risk of OHSS. I'm usually so anxious but the one benefit of being so exhausted is I genuinely don't have the energy for anxiety 🙈 xxx

CardboardCat · 16/08/2020 21:43

Thank you everyone for saying nice things, it really is appreciated 😘

I'm feeling a bit better today. I got pregnancy bombed by my next door neighbour today though which was just a facepalm moment- she's 16 weeks. Timing really is everything! I am a bit better than yesterday though. Telling myself I'm on my own path and have my own story which is far from finished.

I'm really hoping that tomorrow they will tell me to trigger, not least because I fucked up mixing my Menopur and will have to pay to replace it if more stims are needed. I'm choosing to see the funny side of this because it's just so typical of me!

CardboardCat · 16/08/2020 22:01

@Lepatz That's brilliant having collection booked in! So exciting.

@Mseddy Good luck tomorrow at your scan. Fingers crossed for both of us that we get the go ahead to do the trigger shot.

@kikisparks Good luck for your transfer!

@StayingPositive8 All of us are rooting for you in here, I really hope you get your positive. Sending lots of good vibes your way.

@West2401 Hope your scan goes really well tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for lots of people. Can't believe where we all are now compared to a few weeks ago!

Custardandcream · 16/08/2020 22:30

@CardboardCat sorry to hear about your wobble, hope you’re feeling better today. You’re right the big gaps between the hurdles doesn’t help! Hope you get good news tomorrow.

@loulamay I have a scan on Friday to check my lining and a blood test so hopefully will find out next weekend if I can have the transfer on the following Friday (if the embryo survives being defrosted, I only have one frozen)

@Lepatz thank you I’ll have a look at that app, I have a few mindful meditations from last time but they are for pre and post transfer so might help to have something a bit more general. Hope the trigger went ok.

@Mseddy I hope you’re COVID test comes back negative, and that you find out quickly!

@StayingPositive8 Fingers crossed for you!

@kikisparks hope everything goes ok tomorrow!

I’m feeling better today, trying to focus on what I can control and taking each day as it comes.

CardboardCat · 16/08/2020 22:47

Thanks @Custardandcream 🙂 I'm really glad you're feeling better today.

Mseddy · 16/08/2020 22:55

@CardboardCat we are in the exact same position! I spilt one of my doses too. So if I need another dose tomorrow I have to get one from the clinic, and I'm sure I won't be getting that for free haha. Mine is £40 a vial and I need 3 vials to make one dose up because I'm on max. Given my discomfort tonight I'm taking a guess that things are ready for trigger though. My scan is 0750 so early morning for me! Just hoping I don't wake up to pee every hour again!

Sabz36 · 17/08/2020 07:26

Morning everyone

Just wanted some advice I am 6 days past transfer and for the last 3 days I've had the worst nausea ever even to the point of throwing up. It's now graduated to (look away now) diarrhoea. The thing is most of my other symptoms such as sore breasts and acne have disappeared only to be replaced with this, some twinges in the back and bloating. Should I call the clinic? Not sure if this is food poisoning as I can't keep anything down and everything makes me gag aside from some chicken broth last night

Mseddy · 17/08/2020 07:43

@Sabz36 morning. Sorry you are feeling unwell. I think it's so hard to tell what symptoms are what in this whole process. The progesterone can cause quite alot of side effects. If you are unsure I would give your clinic a call for peace of mind. How far away from your test date are you?

OP posts:
Sabz36 · 17/08/2020 08:06

@Mseddy they said Saturday but technically I can test on Thursday (according to Dr Google)

Mseddy · 17/08/2020 08:21

@Sabz36 I'd love to pretend I'm not in the early testing crew but I 100% will be. I can't help myself!! My clinics OTD is like 2 weeks post transfer, I mean if I was pregnant by that point id be like nearly 5 weeks! 19dpo! I think last time I started testing at about 6dp5dt. Tbh it helped me because it wasn't a definate BFN. It was like well maybe it's too early, I'll try again in a few days etc. It helped me get my head around things a bit.

@StayingPositive8 is today the day? Sending all the luck and baby dust!

Just had my second stim scan. I had 10 good sized follicles and a few smaller ones. I'm triggering tonight for egg collection on Wednesday. Still haven't heard about my covid swab but I'm hoping it came back yesterday and was negative!

OP posts:
West2401 · 17/08/2020 10:07

@Mseddy that's brilliant news! Plenty of follicles there, everything crossed!

Just had my first stim scan and nothings going on 😞 they've increased my meds so fingers crossed something starts appearing soon. Did this happen to anyone else? Bit rubbish since I'm getting all the side effects, just nothing's happening!!!!

Lepatz · 17/08/2020 10:32

Happy Monday everyone - and good luck to everyone with all the things today. It’s a big day for lots of us!

@StayingPositive8 Everything crossed for a positive outcome today!

@Mseddy yay for the trigger tonight, and for the 10 good sized ones!!

@CardboardCat Fingers crossed for a trigger today! I was freaking out last night doing the trigger shot in case I messed it up - it's exactly the type of clumsy thing I'd do!!

@Custardandcream Glad to hear you’re feeling better xx

@Sabz36 Sorry you’re so sick, sounds horrible. I got really sick on progesterone before. But definitely worth calling the clinic to be sure :)

@West2401 I had my menopur upped after the first bloods as wasn’t responding as much as hoped - and the first scan showed v inconsistent growth so I was asked to wait 3 days til the next scan. I think it’s usual to have to adjust as you go - as 3 days later I showed way more growth - and by trigger day on day 11 almost all follicles were over 10mm :). As someone said here when I was freaking out - things change fast in follicle land :)

Egg collection tomorrow - I’m excited and a bit nervous. To those who’ve been there - how long does it take?? I’m super teary today. Not sure if it’s the hcg - or just the emotions of the moment :)

Mseddy · 17/08/2020 10:45

@West2401 I didn't respond very well on my first cycle, they where quite worried on my day 9 scan, but I was already on max stims so couldnt have my dose upped. They scanned again on day 11 and I had improved slightly but still not up to what they wanted so I had a 12th day of stims and they didnt paint a very positive picture. I ended up with 10 eggs from that cycle, so things reallly can change very quickly. Try not to be too disheartened, your clinic have seen it all before and im sure they wil respond appropriately.

@Lepatz exciting that egg collection is tomorrow. I'd love to be able to answer your questions on how long it takes, but my idea of how long it was and the reality of it from my DH point of view differ alot haha. I would say I was back in my cubicle waiting for my DH to be allowed back in within 15 mins. He says it was well over an hour! I can only remember a tiny little bit of the whole thing, being moved onto the trolley after the procedure and then my DH coming in. The whole thing is a huge haze because of the drugs. I have zero anxiety about the process itsself this time, my only worrry is finding out how many eggs.

OP posts:
loulamay · 17/08/2020 11:11

@Lepatz - I'd say from arriving to being sent home I was probably at the clinic for a few hours? Definitely no more than 3. The procedure itself only takes about 45 minutes but there's the prep and then you get knocked out and then you get a bit of time to come round afterwards, and they gave me tea and a muffin! You aren't allowed to drive home yourself afterwards. I'd get some Nurofen and a hot water bottle at the ready in case you're sore, and just take it easy! So exciting :-)

@StayingPositive8 - thinking good thoughts for you!

@Sabz36 - the hormones definitely mess with my digestion too. From constipation to diarrhoea. Such a joy.

@80SM - how are coping with the TWW?! I have pretty much zero symptoms apart from being a bit tired, the occasional abdominal twinge and wanting to eat everything in sight.

@Mseddy - trigger time! bring it on!

LennyFitz · 17/08/2020 11:30

How's everyone been feeling through the stimming phase? Like @West2401 I'm only on day 6 and really not feeling great. Queasy, tired and a bit under the weather. And only half way through! I don't remember feeling like this so early last time, but it was a year ago so maybe my memory's just a bit faded!

West2401 · 17/08/2020 12:58

@Lepatz @Mseddy thanks for the reassurance! Just so frustrating feeling all the symptoms and not actually seeing any change. Fingers crossed for second scan on Friday.

@LennyFitz hope your symptoms aren't too bad - I currently can't get through my day without a lie down or a nap! Being a PT isn't the easiest job at this stage, counting down the days until Saturday as I've taken 2 weeks off for collection (hopefully!) and transfer 🤞🏻

CardboardCat · 17/08/2020 13:53

Thank you for the good thoughts everyone! So the scan was ok. Good news is that growth seemed to slow for the outlying big follicles but the smaller ones are catching up. So no trigger for me today, two more days of stims BUT I'm much happier as there seems to be 9(!) follicles between 10 and 17mm. Much more consistent than the last scan which had a 16mm monster and all the rest around the 6-8mm mark. @West2401 As others have said, things can change so quickly.

The other good news is that I've seemed to get away with my Menopur mistake. The long version of the story is that I managed to spill half of the solvent that dilutes the powder. The vial should have contained 4 doses of 150 but after spilling half the solvent I could only draw up two doses. None of the actual powder spilled though so I'm left with a more concentrated solution. Last night I have myself a "half" dose of double concentrate and the clinic seemed happy enough for me to continue that for two more days.

My lining has also grown from 5.2mm to 6.5mm so they seem confident it should get to the level they need for a fresh transfer.

It's slow and steady from me it seems, no medals being won but we might just cross the finish line!

kikisparks · 17/08/2020 14:19

One good quality embryo on board. Unfortunately nothing to freeze yet but they might have something tomorrow, they’ll call and let me know. OTD 27 August- there’s no blood test I’m just to do an HPT then email them.

@Lepatz for egg collection I arrived at 9.45am and left just before 1pm.

@West2401 sorry to hear how you’ve been feeling, hopefully it’s not too much longer til egg collection.

@CardboardCat sorry about the pregnancy bombing :( hope you get told to trigger today!

@Sabz36 sorry to hear you’re feeling so unwell, probably best to call the clinic just in case.

@Mseddy great news on the follicle front! That’s exciting you’re triggering tonight.

@west2401 sorry to hear that. It’s good that they’re able to increase the meds, is it your first round? They told me to expect that they might need to change things up in the first round as they never know how your body will react.

Mseddy · 17/08/2020 14:38

@kikisparks yay for having an embryo on board! Finger crossed for a nice sticky one. Hopefully your others will do good over night and make it to the freezer tomorrow.

@CardboardCat that's good about managing to get around your mistake with the drugs. It sounds like your follicles are getting there and evening out nicely.

I got a call from the clinic to tell me my trigger and collection times. I was nervous to answer becuase I was scared it was the dreaded "your covid positive" phonecall. Was relieved when it wasn't. Then they rang me back half an hour later and I could barely answer through fear! Turned out they just wanted to know what sandwich I want after my egg collection! Honestly my nerves cant take anymore!

OP posts:
loulamay · 17/08/2020 14:50

@Mseddy - you poor thing! Hope you chose a good sandwich Grin

@kikisparks - whoo hoo! join the TWW club! Hope you're feeling ok?
