Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

Oh great news on the 'blastoblastocyst' @LizTay80! So brilliant to have a top quality one :D. Everything crossed for it and you xx

I've also struggled to keep up with the threads! Sometimes I don't refresh before I reply, and realise I've missed a load of new messages :)

Welcome @MrsT36 - so sorry to hear about your previous cycles. Hopefully the different approach this time will give a different outcome :) I'm also on buserelin jabs at the moment, how are you finding them?

I didn't get birth control but did take norethisterone after my last ovulation. It gave me headaches, and a bad taste in my mouth... and also the worst cramps after my period (finally!) came. I spent yesterday with a hot water bottle and painkillers!

Today I'm feeling full of optimism - the sun helps I think. This whole thing is quite the rollercoaster....!!!

IVFJourney2020 · 05/08/2020 15:56

Hi guys! New to mumsnet

I've been looking for a support network for a while and you are all so supportive of each other it's so amazing to see!

I've joined this thread as my partner and I have been trying for almost 3 years for a family - We are currently on our 2nd cycle, (after a failed fresh transfer in January 2020). I had a FET on Monday (3rd), all went well and looked very promising as graded a hatching 5Bb - But I forgot how stressful this TWW is .. Is anyone else losing their minds?? haha!

I am also a neonatal ICU nurse who suffers with anxiety, so the idea of returning to work after another possible negative cycle and wearing all the PPE during a pandemic is looming over my head.
Can anyone relate? Thank you X

kikisparks · 05/08/2020 16:10

@LizTay80 congrats on your embryo transfer, a top quality blast sounds great- I’m not surprised it looked like a firework, what with them using that special technique to blast it into your uterus 😂 were you on your own or did your DH get to come in with you?

All fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you!

kikisparks · 05/08/2020 16:17

@IVFJourney2020 welcome, hope the TWW passes quickly for you, I can only imagine how hard a wait that is as I’m earlier on in the process, sounds good that you had a promising embryo, sending vibes for it to be sticky🤞

That’s so impressive you’re a neonatal ICU nurse that job must be incredibly hard in general and I can imagine it could bring up lots of personal feelings too whilst going through infertility.

Mseddy · 05/08/2020 16:18

@LizTay80 congrats on being PUPO! Fingers crossed for that little embaby. We only got one blast (although not top quality) last cycle, so I know what you mean when you say there is alot of hope riding on it. It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase all your eggs in one basket, I giggled about that quite alot last time!

@IVFJourney2020 welcome. I'm a NICU nurse too, although I work in transport at the moment :) work is a bloody tough place at the minute, let alone being around babies all the time! I had to have a few weeks off at the beginning of this year because I just couldnt cope being around patients! Fingers crosse for your little embaby

Thanks everyone and @StayingPositive8 good advice on planning something. I’m in work so hopefully I’ll be distracted!
@LizTay80 got everything crossed for you that this is the one 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@seven201ive not looked at the lubion yet I’m too scared!! Has anyone had it before?
Just had a wobble as I’d re joined the gym and my husband was like you can’t what about covid!! So now I’m worried I shouldn’t go even though I really could do with losing some weight! Anyone been brave enoughto go back yet? X

seven201 · 05/08/2020 16:41

@MrsT36 I used Lubion last transfer too. Because it's an oily one it just needs a bit of a wider needle. It's actually fine though. My clinic say it needs to be done in the bum, so dh does it. It's only 3 times a week (for me at least) so ok.

That's annoying about the gym! You've just got to decide what you feel comfortable with I think. If you want to go then you should, just follow the precautions the gym will have set out.

@IVFJourney2020 welcome. The wait is not fun but can't last forever.

LizTay80 · 05/08/2020 17:18

Thank you lovelies

@kikisparks
Ha ha yeah wasn’t quite a water pistol as my husband envisaged 😂
He wasn’t allowed in the room due to covid restrictions but came with for support. Such a shame as he said he would of liked to of seen it.

Feels so surreal to know it’s just in there now. I honestly needed the biggest wee after I thought the pressure would push it out! 😂

@Mseddy
Ha ha quite literally all our hopes, future and money in that one basket.

@IVFJourney2020

Big welcome and hello!
Pleased to hear your recent FET went well. Hope you managed to stay nice and relaxed, but busy enough to keep your mind off testing during this time.
When are you due back to work?

CardboardCat · 05/08/2020 20:13
@LizTay80 that's great that the transfer went well.

@CardboardCat oh sorry! Blush
Lol- it's probably something I should have thought about a bit more! 🤣

CardboardCat · 05/08/2020 20:21

@LizTay80 Congratulations, so excited for you! A top blastocyst sounds fantastic 😁 Do you have any plans for the TWW?

@IVFJourney2020 Welcome and hope your wait goes quickly! So in awe of you and @Mseddy being neonatal nurses. Such an amazing job to do but I can't imagine how bittersweet it must be sometimes.

Mseddy · 06/08/2020 07:55

Still no AF for me. My plan at work was to stay at work until day 9 but have no patient contact. I'm not even day 1 yet and I've wimped out! I went in this morning and before my shift had even started I was in floods of tears because a colleague has been identified via track and trace and is now isolating but had worked all weekend following her contact not knowing. It was too much of a risk so my anxiety shot through the roof! So that's me off work for the forseeable! I'm not a million miles from one of the lockdown areas (10mins drive) and this colleague lives in that area. This cycle is sooooo much harder than last time!!

kikisparks · 06/08/2020 10:19

So sorry to hear that @Mseddy that’s so stressful, sounds like you’ve made the right decision for your mental health to stay off work. I’m lucky to be working from home but DH has to go in to work and I’m worried about him catching it and our cycle being cancelled. It feels like there are so many things to worry about at the moment, it’s hard to get anything done!

I did some fertility yoga last night which I really enjoyed, felt so calm and clear headed afterwards. I then didn’t sleep well and woke up worrying again so my head has obviously cluttered back up!

I’m on day 5 of stims and I’ve been for a blood test this morning, they’ll call me this afternoon if my meds need to be reduced or increased, if all is well then I won’t get a call. First scan is Sunday, I really hope things are progressing ok.

Mseddy · 06/08/2020 12:54

@kikisparks good luck for your scan. Which fertility yoga do you do? I'm going to try some I think

nextweek · 06/08/2020 14:06

Just catching up on all the recent posts. Hope everyone is getting on ok.
@Mseddy that sounds really stressful, if you can stay off and avoid the anxiety of it then that's probably for the best.
@kikisparks good luck for your scan on Sunday!

I'm going in for my day 3 baseline scan tomorrow

kikisparks · 06/08/2020 14:06

@Mseddy it was organised by the Fertility Network, it’s free although you can make a donation, there are 3 more sessions- sign up is here: fertilitynetworkuk.org/events/fertility-yoga-august-12/ it’s not suitable for post egg collection or in the TWW but any other time is fine, it’s very gentle.

I’ve just had a call from the clinic that they want me in for a scan tomorrow, they wouldn’t say much on the phone (I suspect the person phoning doesn’t know much) except that oestrogen levels are a bit higher than expected. I’m really scared now that my cycle may be cancelled due to OHSS risk. I’m already on the lowest possible dose of stims apparently. I’m crossing everything for good news tomorrow that the cycle can continue.

kikisparks · 06/08/2020 14:07

@nextweek good luck for your baseline scan tomorrow!

Lepatz · 06/08/2020 14:56

Ahh, sorry to hear you're still playing the AF waiting game @Mseddy. It caught me out how stressful that bit was!! Probably part flashbacks from previous 'trying' months when trips to the loo were fraught with nerves...

@IVFJourney2020 Welcome :)

@kikisparks I've signed up for next week's yoga - thanks!

Good luck with the baseline scan tomorrow @nextweek - we're cycle buddies!

I had my downreg baseline scan this morning. Went well, thin lining / 18 follicles. Which is less that I had in the couple of scans pre COVID... but apparently still good for my advanced years?! I guess now is the time to find out if they're any good...

Lepatz · 06/08/2020 14:58

@kikisparkssorry, sent too soon - hope everything is ok with the scan tomorrow. It's great they are keeping their eye on you - it's hard not to get freaked out by unexpected things though :)

Ro198 · 06/08/2020 15:24

@kikisparks I had this on my last scan/blood test and at egg collection they said I was fine. Try not to worry, it’s probably fine and they are just being cautious

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 06/08/2020 16:16

Hi everyone,

Can I join you all please?!
Myself and DH had our second round of IVF this week. I am 40 and this time it was a FET, so the process has been a bit more straight forward than it was last time so far anyway! I’m taking Progenova tablets 3 x daily and using Utrogestan pessaries 3 x daily. I have to do my first pregnancy test on 15th Aug and another one 2 days later. I am very nervous because last time I started bleeding quite heavily 2 days before the first test and sadly had an early miscarriage.
We are trying to stay positive but there is the constant worry about it happening again.
I have just started going to weekly reflexology again to try and help manage my stress levels.

@kikisparks - I’ve just seen the link you posted regarding the fertility yoga, thank you for posting this, I will check this out following the TWW all being well.

Wishing you all so much luck and sending positive energy to you all! x

StayingPositive8 · 06/08/2020 19:10

Evening everyone and hi to everyone that’s new.

Embryo transfer happened at lunch time so now it’s just the waiting game! Unfortunately it wasn’t top grade as it hadn’t completely become a blastocyst but it’s managed to get this far... Waiting to see tomorrow if one of the other eggs progresses enough overnight to freeze but I don’t think it’s likely. So just concentrating on the one that’s in!

Hope everyone is feeling good this evening and manage to enjoy some of the lovely weather over the weekend. Fortunately we are heading back to Suffolk to stay for the weekend and to try and relax for the beginning of the long wait!

kikisparks · 06/08/2020 20:16

@StayingPositive8 congrats on your embryo transfer and being PUPO, fingers crossed for you.

nextweek · 06/08/2020 22:01

@Lepatz Nice to have a cycle buddySmile I was sure what number of follicles would be considered 'good', guess I'll see what I've got tomorrow!

CardboardCat · 07/08/2020 08:38

@StayingPositive8 Congratulations on your embryo transfer!

@kikisparks You've inspired me to go back to Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube again.

@Mseddy Sounds like you've made exactly the right decision. It sounds like your employer is supportive and doesn't underestimate the stress involved in this process which is lovely. I hope you can enjoy (is that the right word?) the step back and find some peace in it.

Welcome to everyone just joining us 🙂 I can't scroll back very far on my phone to see your user names!
My period has started today!! I did a little celebratory period dance from the bathroom to the bedroom this morning 😂 First time I've been happy to see her! Trying to call my clinic but the phone lines aren't open yet.

Lepatz · 07/08/2020 09:43

So I started my stims last night. Woken up feeling... odd! Super relaxed, almost a bit sedated. In a good way!

Has anyone else had this on the stims? And does it last!?? Or what other side effects did you have? (I'm taking 375 of menopur.)

@CardboardCat haha re the period dance - and congratulations!

@nextweek Good luck today, may your lining be thin, and the follicles plentiful :)

@StayingPositive8 Great news you had the ET, and fingers crossed the other one made a push over night. Have a relaxing time in Suffolk. London is going to be stifling today!!
