Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

@LizTay80 all sounding very positive! Friday is so close, ill have everything crossed for a nice big healthy batch of eggs :) and hopefully no OHSS!

@Kiza is the letter you are waiting for for your first appointment with the fertility clinic or for you to start your cycle? We had our first appt with the clinic in May 2019 and didnt actually start our first cycle until end of October 2019. It can be quite a length process having all the extra tests and scans that the clinic require on top of what the GP have already tested. Fingers crossed for a nice quick process for you!

I am due to have my egg collection on Saturday now, I could continue with my cycle after blood tests came back showing that the cyst I had was not growing.

I’ve been told today I now have to wait to find out if I will need to freeze all embryos from this cycle now as I could be at risk for OHSS. I only have 16 follicles, 10 of these have grown more than the other 6. Ive got 1 Bemfola injection left to take. I’ve had a blood test done so might find out today or I’ll have to wait until Saturday.

For the others that had to freeze, how far in advance did you find out?

CardboardCat · 29/07/2020 13:55

@Mseddy 16 follicles, that's amazing news! So pleased for you :)

@Ro198 That's fantastic! So glad your cyst hasn't affected your cycle. What a bloody rollercoaster though.

@StayingPositive8 Three follicles is fab, I've got low AMH as well. Got everything crossed that they keep on growing and you get top quality eggs from them!

Welcome @Kiza :) Hope you manage to get your first appointment soon. As someone else said, don't be scared to chase a bit. I'm finding more and more that I have to advocate for myself (totally against my people pleasing nature to be assertive but sometimes it's the only thing that works).

How is everyone today? I've hit a wall at work. I'm on day 8 of 8 and I'm so tired. Only another hour or so to go though and a couple of days off.

Bruce2 · 29/07/2020 14:42

Hi all

Hope everyone well today
Nice to hear some ladies are receiving positive news around treatment and follicles

@CardboardCat day 8 of 8 you must be exhausted!

Had my first post stim scan today. All looked ok, need to continue with injections then see where we are on Friday. They think trigger injections on Saturday and Egg Collection Monday...but again need to see how Friday goes.

Hopefully going to head to beach this weekend, trying to make plans so I don't become obsessed thinking about it all

Anyone else got ways of keeping them occupied

kikisparks · 29/07/2020 15:28

@StayingPositive8 sorry to hear that you didn’t get the numbers you wanted, but I’ve been hearing a lot about quality being more important than quantity so it just takes one good one! Fingers crossed for you.

@LizTay80 congrats on your good scan results, that’s so exciting you have egg collection so soon! Best of luck for that on Friday.

@Ro198 that’s such good news about the cyst you must be relieved. And exciting you’re so close to egg collection too!

@CardboardCat no wonder you’re exhausted! Hope you have a nice couple of days off.

@Bruce2 glad to hear your scan went ok and egg collection is not far off for you either. I’m off just now and had been overthinking things but today we went for a long walk and I feel refreshed.

I had my last norithisterone yesterday so just on period watch now. Thanks to those who replied about the spotting. I didn’t call the clinic about it in the end as it was only a small amount and I wasn’t too worried.

I got some good news on my other health issues and after feeling really rubbish yesterday I’m in quite a happy place today (being off the norithisterone helps I think!) but after saying the other day about having stuck to my whole foods no sugar diet for so long I decided to indulge today and had a bit of cake Smile and I’m not feeling guilty! We’re going to the in laws for dinner tonight which should be nice.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I've been under a fertility consultation since October last year and after all the tests was referred for IVF just before lockdown.
The IVF clinic (NHS based) phoned a month ago to say they have accepted our referral and secured funding and hopefully starting soon as I'm on the top of the priority list due to turning 40 in October. I'll give them till the end of the week and then call again. 🤞🏼

Eggling · 29/07/2020 16:02

Hi @Kiza that sounds really positive, I'd echo others in saying you need to chase and advocate for yourself a fair bit when it comes to fertility treatment. It sounds like your NHS trust are on it though, that's quick to get funding secured and all sorted in my experience!

I'm waiting for my post-provera bleed so I can start my FET cycle. Had a fair bit of spotting this morning so I thought it was here but that seems to have stopped for now. I was very down yesterday and a bit crappy so I expect it will come soon, just want my body to play ball for once!

unknownscot · 29/07/2020 18:35

😢 Just got my bloods back - I Have no MMR antibodies so can’t start on Sunday as planned. My GP has lost all my vaccination records so need to get new vaccines. Heartbroken is an understatement.

seven201 · 29/07/2020 20:20

@unknownscot I'm so sorry. is that clinic policy or your preference? I'm not rubella immune but I've had the vaccine 3 times (including in 2016) but my clinic are fine for me to continue. It just doesn't stick with me for some reason.

Mseddy · 29/07/2020 20:33

@unknownscot so sorry to hear that :( it's better for them to be safe than sorry I guess. At least if you are vaccinated and then get a bfp you are protected headed into measles season. I know none of that will take the pain away anyless.
Does your works occy health hold a copy of your vaccination history? I know mine do but I'm not sure if that just because I'm a nurse.

Oh no that's awful they've lost your record. I'm so sorry you're having to delay. Really upset for you. I know how badly it hurts when time is marching on and you just want it to happen now. I'm sending you lots of love & hugs
kikisparks · 29/07/2020 22:49

@unknownscot so sorry to hear that, it’s gutting :( hope you can get your vaccine done in the next couple of weeks and be booked in again to start ivf as soon as possible.

Eggling · 30/07/2020 07:06

@unknownscot oh I'm sorry, how frustrating for you. I hope you can get the jab and get booked in again really soon.

CardboardCat · 30/07/2020 10:16

@unknownscot That is absolutely gutting 😔 So sorry you're having to delay. I really hope you can get it sorted soon.

unknownscot · 30/07/2020 10:23

Thank you so much for the messages.

I knew something was up with the letter I received - there's been so many bloods/immunisations to chase up with my GP and a very long winded story about my MMR immunisation.

Anyway, I found an email from 17 June to my clinic with my MMR vaccine on it.

I'm livid that they didn't upload it to my file at the time.

I'm now on an urgent message trail to try and confirm if I can actually start on Sunday!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Thanks for all your support. It's such a stressful time. X

CardboardCat · 30/07/2020 10:29

@LizTay80 and @Bruce2 So excited for you guys with egg retrieval imminent.

I called yesterday to pay for my meds and they're being delivered today so I'm happy with that. Big box o drugs should be here at lunchtime 😁

@unknownscot Good luck!! I really hope it works out for you. There is no one more motivated than a woman being told her IVF may be delayed so kick arse on the phone! xx
Mseddy · 30/07/2020 10:49

@unknownscot I've got everything crossed for you!!!! They can't put you on hold now surely!

@unknownscot fingers crossed for you!

seven201 · 30/07/2020 13:37

@unknownscot oh that is great. I really hope they can make it happen for you this month.

seven201 · 30/07/2020 16:19

Anyone else get awful headaches with progynova? It's driving me mad and paracetamol doesn't make much difference. I'm only on day 3 of taking them so I'm hoping it starts to ease off. I don't remember these headaches from last time.

Also, I'm going to a friends house for drinks tonight. As I'm doing a FET I figure it's ok to have a few glasses of wine. Transfer isn't scheduled until 13th ish. Will I just feel massively guilty about it tomorrow?

Sabz36 · 30/07/2020 18:01

@seven201 my clinic has asked that I socially isolate during quarantine. Literally from the first lining scan which is crazy

seven201 · 30/07/2020 18:22

@Sabz36 mine hasn't mentioned anything like that. I'm only going to the garden, so won't be in the house.
