Check this link out @Lily999 @rainbow178 @Stace999 - it gives you a 'day by day' of what happens after a day 5 transfer:

www.conceptfertility.co.uk/2017/05/31/what-happens-after-an-embryo-transfer/

Viletta · 05/02/2020 12:54

@BambiOnIce80 thank you letting me know about new nice guide! It makes sense!

Lily999 · 05/02/2020 14:10

Thank you @BambiOnIce80 according to this implantation is happening now and not 5-7days after transfer... My acupuncturist said I should have a session on Saturday to increase the chance for implantation, but I am on day 2 now so Saturday will be day 5 that is too late.... should I ask her to see me sooner?

Viletta · 05/02/2020 15:15

@Lily999 I don't think acupuncture can really help implantation, it's down to embryo and endometrium quality. Implantation continues for a while and acupuncture can keep you nice and relaxed during that time. My clinic said if I feel tense in my uterus I can take magnesium b6 supplement which I take whenever I feel crampy.

Lily999 · 05/02/2020 15:24

Hm.. thanks, I was there yesterday and she said she will use the needles around the abdomen area on Saturday to make sure the implantation is assisted and the blood flow is exactly as it is supposed to be.
Now I am quite doubtful about the whole acupuncture process... hmm.

Viletta · 05/02/2020 15:52

@Lily999 It does make sense that you are doing everything possible to ensure positive result and the work that was done yesterday hopefully helped with the implantation. You never know when exactly it will happen for you, right away or a couple of days later. I wouldn't obsess about trying to time acupuncture to the exact time as you don't know and implantation is a process that happens over many days or even weeks. You are doing all you can now which is great! Hope it works!

UnicornPuff · 05/02/2020 16:59

@Chooklass congratulations! I hope you got a really good blood test result and have a happy and healthy 9 months.

Lily999 · 05/02/2020 17:17

Thank you @Viletta I guess then Saturday will still be fine, I just need to let it go and enjoy being pupo :)

UnicornPuff · 05/02/2020 17:39

@41trying since my BFN I have bought, read and am waiting for delivery of lots of supplements from it starts with an egg. It gives you lots of condensed info on lots of research papers, supplements they looked into and which are useful for what and how to put it together. It looked a lot bigger than it actually is because there are so many references to the research papers (which I must confess I have not checked out myself but I find reassuring!)
I always thought we would be ok as we were predominantly MFI and other than my AMH being low which the clinic were not concerned about everything had looked fine. I have bought everything that she suggests for me from the book except the melatonin and the DHEA as they are not available without prescription in the UK, however when my clinic phone with the telephone review I will tell them that my plan is to add them in and unless they have an objection and reason I will get then as they are available online.
As we have to pay for a cycle from scratch including ICSI I think we are looking at 7k and although the supplements are expensive, if they give us a higher chance of success +/- a chance of a frozen embryo then actually in the long term they will be a saving!

BambiOnIce80 · 05/02/2020 18:17

Ive just had a look back at when I did acupuncture around ET @Lily999 📍 I had it the day after ET (to allegedly help with blood flow to the uterus/endometrium/whatever) and then again at 3dp5dt, purely because that's what fit with what I was working and when there were appointments available! 😄 Like @Viletta says, don't sweat it and enjoy the relaxation you get from it.x

@UnicornPuff it sounds like you've formulated yourself a very thorough plan going forward there 👍 When are you due to have your telephone review?x

Betsyboo87 · 05/02/2020 18:28

@Chooklass just jumping on here to say congratulations! I recognised your name from out LP spotting thread in ttc. Hope you have a healthy 9 months

Chooklass · 05/02/2020 19:15

@Betsyboo87 😍 Thank you for your message! So lovely! X

Stace999 · 05/02/2020 21:29

@Lily999 I am fine, nothing at all to report had the call yesterday to say none of the other embryos made it to freeze so I think we made the right call in putting 2 back. They didn't want us to but I didn't want to discard a blast even if it was slow, it had sped up growth rather than slowed down so I think it deserves a chance however slim. The other was the same only a grade 2 and not even able to be graded with a letter but it had picked up in 24 hrs. Fingers crossed they are just slow..! If its a BFN then we will find out what our clinic suggests.
Just on the progesterone subject my previous clinic was 200mg per day until 12 weeks. Current clinic is 600mg per day and 2 oestrogen tablets per day until 12 weeks.. Seems a lot to me but I guess they have their reasons.

Pinkstars2501 · 06/02/2020 06:59

Morning ladies. I started full flow and Endo pain last night so didn't even get to test day. I took a test anyway this morning just to confirm and as suspected, BFN.

Strangely I feel less upset now I've taken the test, even though I'm in absolute agony. I think the whole process is just exhausting. At least I know where I am.

I've got two in the freezer but the clinic freeze them in pairs so I think those will be put back in together eventually. I need a bit of a break first though.

Good luck to all of you yet to test 😊

QuantumGirl · 06/02/2020 08:04

Sorry to hear about your news @Pinkstars2501 but glad you have Frosties. Having a break sounds like a great idea 😘💐🥂

Wimbledon1 · 06/02/2020 08:33

So sorry @Pinkstars2501. Really tough, but it sounds like you are taking the best attitude to it and agree a little rest and treating yourself is well-deserved right now. Take care of yourself x

@Sarab2020 I think you are testing today? Good luck 🤞🏻

MrsLouB · 06/02/2020 09:07

@Pinkstars2501 so sorry to hear your news, take a break and take care of you xx

twinkleyes35 · 06/02/2020 09:24

Pinkstars2501 · 06/02/2020 09:38

Thankyou

duckling3 · 06/02/2020 11:56

Hi all ,

I hope it's ok to join, I had my first fresh icsi 5day transfer yesterday and now in the lovely tww. Appart from worry about the actual procedures I've been totally calm up til this point but I'm definitely feeling the syptom spotting start now - probably far too early for there to be any symptoms 😬

Sorry to hear about the bad news some have had.

seven201 · 06/02/2020 12:18

Please can I join? I'm in first ivf round. Had collection friday, transfer yesterday. Got one in and two in the freezer (the second one got added this morning making a last minute improvement on day 6!). I've been told not to test until the 18th which seems aggeeees away!

How does the numberpdnunberpt work? So t must be transfer but what is d?

seven201 · 06/02/2020 12:19

Oh oops pt then dt !

Viletta · 06/02/2020 12:22

@seven201 welcome! It's for example 3 days post 5 day transfer (3dp5dt) meaning it's been 3 days after a 5 day embryo was transferred. Day of transfer fours as 0. Hope this helps!

Viletta · 06/02/2020 12:27

@Pinkstars2501 sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. FET is so much easier and less medicated, hope it will work next time! Xx
