First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

Thank you @41trying, I remember you had bad results with the short protocol, I hope I'll have some luck with it, we'll see...

Bestofyou1982 · 16/01/2020 22:15

Good luck @Lily999! It sounds like you have a stressful time of it recently. Glad they have gotten back to you and now you can move forward again with short protocol. 🤞

41trying · 16/01/2020 22:17

@Lilly999, what meds are you going to be on?

Rovera12 · 16/01/2020 22:27

Hi @Lily999 my twin went private and get AMH was 17 within 9 months it dropped to 14.6. She was on short protocol collected 18eggs can’t remember how many fertilised but got 4 day 5 embryos frozen. She had to freeze due to ohss and also wants to save some money being that she’s having treatment as solo.
I was on a short protocol n like you know I am still in the process. My clinic never checked my AMH or maybe I was never told the results.
@Nmvasey sorry to hear about your news.
A very big welcome to the new ladies, congratulations to all.

Lily999 · 16/01/2020 22:41

Thank you girls, I am a nervous wreck at the moment constantly questioning whether I made the right decision or maybe should have waited for the long protocol, but it's done now, let's hope we'll get eggs like this.
@41trying we will find out about the meds tomorrow they'll give them to us at the clinic.
Thanks @rovera12 it's strange your twin had OHSS on short protocol, allegedly the reason for having short is to avoid OHSS? So confusing..

justkeeprunning5 · 16/01/2020 23:21

@41trying I had acid reflux on a few occasions whilst taking progesterone on my fresh cycle. I have only ever had it a few times before (usually after too much Prosecco - before I gave up drinking to TTC), so sure it was the progesterone. It seemed to pass quick enough for me. Hope it does for you too.

justkeeprunning5 · 16/01/2020 23:25

Thanks @HJF84 . On day 7 of Buserelin today waiting to decrease the dose and start on oestradiol when my period arrives. It seems to be taking less of a toll on me than the stims cycle but I’m getting impatient thinking it’s still a month to go until transfer. Are you doing medicated or natural?

Rovera12 · 16/01/2020 23:45

Hello ladies permit me to ask silly questions, anyone planning to transfer double if lucky enough to get more than 3 embryos?
Who believes in pineapple core/macdonalds chips after transfer ?
Also is anyone asking their clinic to check progesterone on the day of transfer ?
I read it good to know as the levels determine implantation most times, I asked my clinic long ago, I was told they don’t do it but if I want to pay it is not a problem. I don’t mind paying as it won’t cost a lot .
Hopefully it’s goodnews on Saturday so fingers crossed.

Dia12 · 17/01/2020 03:32

You should be on progesterone support by the time you have ET so levels should be really high anyway.

I would like to have a double transfer if I get enough 🤞🏼. I thought most clinics do double transfer if you're 40 and over but not sure if that's across all clinics.

I'm at day 7 of stims with 300 iu gonal f. Trying to eat high protein and low carb and trying to go on long walks to get some exercise in but I'm struggling to sleep so feeling exhausted all the time.

Rovera12 · 17/01/2020 05:33

@Dia12 my clinic considers only age 35 and above,Few months before I become 35.
Omg feels weird going back to work almost a week later. I dont know how to answer questions today. I am just going to be quiet and run off end of shift. I will be off for another 2weeks from tomorrow.
Good morning ladies, wishing everyone success in all they do today.

BambiOnIce80 · 17/01/2020 06:55

Morning all! 🌞

@rainbow178 they told me the day after EC that 8 had fertilised normally (4 from IVF and 4 from ICSI) and they're due to ring me this morning to let us know how many/if any are still going (day 3 today) 🔮 If any are still going and the quality is average or below, we're hoping to transfer 2 today. If the quality is better than average then we'll wait for hopefully one on day 5 (always good to have a tentative plan!). How are you getting on?x

@BaileyBadger4 you can rip up the dates for your normal cycle 😉 The IVF process takes control of it with all the hormones they're pumping into us, so you shouldn't expect AF until around about if/when you stop the progesterone (although I understand that some people start AF even on the progesterone before day 14 if it's a BFN). If it's a BFP then you won't see AF for a looong time! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Lily999 my heart goes out to you lovely 💓 What a totally horrid day you had! 😟 I think it's very unfair of them to make you chose what you want to do, but I guess from their point of view they've messed up and are trying to stop you from getting mega stressed out (research shows that happier cycles have better outcomes!). I'd look at it like this; I'm guessing you're a good 3 years away from 40, so you're likely to be getting the full 3 cycles on the NHS? If so, it really can't hurt to try a short cycle and see how you respond 👍 Even if you don't get a bumper haul of eggs from it, you could still get a few good quality embryos and end up pregnant 🤞🏻If you don't then you know that the next 2 cycles should be long protocol and you're hot to trot... win-win really 🙂 Please don't stress and let us know how it goes at your appointment today.x

@Rovera12 I agree with @Dia12 and I'd save your money as far of the progesterone goes seems were on it already 💸 My plan if we get as far as ET is to watch as many daft comedies as Netflix/Amazon prime/iplayer/4OD allows! 😂 My clinic is big into the research that says women who laugh lots after ET have statistically higher BFP rates, so I'm going to try for that. I think first up will be AJ and the Ruby on Netflix - I've watched the first couple of episodes already and was laughing my arse off! 💃🤣

Minster2012 · 17/01/2020 07:29

@Dia12 our clinic tests progesterone the day before transfer to ensure it’s over a certain level and they give a top up injection if not, but it’s quite a low level from memory of the thread I was on 2.5 years ago when it was standard practice across most clinics to test progesterone.

Rovera12 · 17/01/2020 08:08

@BambiOnIce80 wishing you goodnews today, @Dia12 I read that even when one is on progesterone the levels are not high enough in some cases, that is why they prescribe more. Just like @minster2012 has said they give in injection form.

rainbow178 · 17/01/2020 08:14

@BambiOnIce80 they're really good numbers, yay!! Hope you get a good news call today! 🤞🤞

I'm ok, on day 5 of stims and have been tired/sick/headaches but also a bit of spotting for 2 days which is worrying me- have you heard of that before?? I might phone up later and see if it's normal.

Good luck for later!

Melissa1983 · 17/01/2020 08:19

Good luck for today @BambiOnIce80 ❤️

I'm hoping today's my last scan with EC Monday but I'll see what the clinic say today 🤞🏽really hoping and praying for some good news on EC as I don't have the option to do another cycle. I'm urgently waiting on an operation scheduled for Feb which has already been put off since October so I could go through IVF first.

Minster2012 · 17/01/2020 08:55

@BambiOnIce80 good luck for today 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Lily999 · 17/01/2020 09:03

Thank you ladies for the support, really needed it! @BambiOnIce80 so true now I am looking at it from that angle. I'm 34, so got 6years until 40 where I should be able to squeeze in the 3 NHS rounds and why not give short protocol a shot if we are here?
Good luck today for the call, we are leaving in an hour for the scan to get this show moving now after all the wait! :)

BambiOnIce80 · 17/01/2020 09:14

I'm the same @Melissa1983 - this is our one and only fresh cycle so it really is now or never! 😥 I was dreading bad news from EC, so the very first thing DP said to me as I was coming round from the EC sedation was "darling, they got 14!!!" 😯😂 Good luck for your scan today and please report back 🍀

Freakishly enough @rainbow178 , I had brown spotting on day 5 of stims too! I rang the clinic and they said they weren't worried about it because it was brown, so it was probably just the remaining 1.5mm of my lining coming away that they'd seen on my DR scan. I had my first stims scan the next day and all was well 👍 Check with your guys if you're worried.x

Thanks @Minster2012 @Lily999 🥰 They said they'd ring before 10am and for me to call if they hadn't by then... I'm trying to adopt my usual 'Che sera, sera' attitude towards it all, but I'm not going to lie - my hands are sweating like mad! 😥

Lily999 · 17/01/2020 09:32

Oh @BambiOnIce I can relate to that, but so far your numbers have been great, I would be very pleased with these, so only half an hour to go, hope the phone will ring soon!
@FlapJackered, fingers crossed for EC today!

Chooklass · 17/01/2020 10:06

Day 9 stims scan showed lots of follies growing nicely, though not as fast as they initially thought, so EC will be Weds at earliest now. Was initially a bit disappointed, but then I was also worried about ohss!? Canny win! Keeping me on same dose so they must be happy! Good luck today everyone xx

OP posts:
BambiOnIce80 · 17/01/2020 10:16

You are very lovely @Lily999 🤗 You're quite right that I needn't have worried - I've just got off the phone and it's good news 😪 7 are still in the running and are "good" quality, so they wouldn't advise ET today and we'll be going in on Sunday instead (day 5). Fingers-crossed that some of the embies are still going strong then🤞🏻🔮

I missed that it's EC for you today @FlapJackered! Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀

They said exactly the same on my day 9 scan @Chooklass! 😂 They said EC would be Wednesday or Thursday... then my oestradiol came back and they wanted me in the next day for another scan/bloods and EC changed to Monday or Tuesday! Fingers-crossed for a good oestradiol result for you later🤞🏻

BaileyBadger4 · 17/01/2020 10:20

@Chooklass exact same as me. My day 8 scan on Wednesday showed 12 follicles on right and 6 on left but all smaller than expected at this stage so have another progress scan on Monday and then go from there! Was hoping to have EC Monday but obviously that's been put back a bit now. They also kept me on exact same dose of meds so seems like they're not too concerned 😊🤞

jcurve · 17/01/2020 10:24

@FlapJackered Good luck today! Fingers crossed for a brilliant outcome.

I had our call from the embryologist and sadly it’s not great news. Of 5 collected, 3 eggs were mature. One egg didn’t survive, one has fertilised not quite normally and one has fertilised OK.

They have recommended freezing this round as I had a bit of fluid in the uterus yesterday, but we are now hoping that just one fertilised egg survives and becomes freezable, so I’m not pinning my hopes on having anything useable.

Melissa1983 · 17/01/2020 10:41

@BambiOnIce80 14 eggs is just amazing! On my day 7 scan I had between 7-8 follicles so that's going to be best case for me as I really don't think they will access the right ovary due to my cyst. Hoping you get the call soon and will look forward to some news from you.

@BaileyBadger4 @Chooklass I'm day 9 today so similar to you both so EC could possibly be later than I'd expected but was really hoping EC is Monday as it's my birthday next weekend and really wanted to go shopping. Obviously my ICSI success is the most important to me but due to ill health I was really hoping I'd be able to do something on my birthday as Ive literally been stuck indoors for about 2 months.

@jcurve sorry to hear you've had some bad news but like they say it only takes one embryo 💕

rainbow178 · 17/01/2020 10:48

@BambiOnIce80 oh did you!? What a coincidence! I think I will ring otherwise it will be on my mind all weekend. That's good news about your embryos, good luck for Sunday! How does that work For your diary and work!?

@jcurve sorry to hear that news but I suppose it is better to wait until the ideal time to transfer so think of it maybe as a positive and at least it won't go to waste?
