And @beth804 congrats to you too :)

carleygh · 18/12/2019 09:13

Oh no @dragonfly1978 😢 it's still so early though. I'm not clued up but what's an IC a cheaper one? I'm sure they wouldn't detect that early at all! X

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 13:07

Thoughts please! Is there any point going for a scan on CD5 or CD6? Will they be able to see follicles or is it too early? It's the only slot my doc has over Xmas. She's not back til I'm on CD26 and there's no point seeing her then.
Just wondering cos it's Xmas Eve and I kinda wanna drive to be with my family that day, but don't want to miss a scan if it's important. I do tend to ovulate each month so it's probably not vital I get scanned? I'm on letrozole and not clomid anymore so don't know if the multiple follicle thing is still an issue 🤷

LaurenN23 · 18/12/2019 14:47

@sylva123 I think if you know you ovulate each month i would be more inclined to not bother if you have plans. I went on CD9 and although dominant follicles were identified they weren't massive (13mm) so I'm not sure if a dominant follicle would be obvious so early! Hope that helps x

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 14:58

Thanks @LaurenN23 . I haven't even come on my period yet, so it might end up being even earlier in the cycle. Think I'm gonna skip it and hope for the best. She said see her on CD9 but she's on holiday then and they have no one to cover. Clomid didn't over stimulate me so hopefully this won't either 🤞. It'll be weird not going to hospital this cycle. I was there every week last time!

LaurenN23 · 18/12/2019 15:17

@Sylva123 I think that's fair enough!!

What are you on now?

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 15:29

@LaurenN23 I'm on CD33 which is crazy late for me but the progesterone made my cycle long. Period might be tmw or another few days yet. Definitely not pregnant, just late cos I was taking the progesterone.
Then it's back to the letrozole and cyclogest. I should probably leave this thread now I'm not on Clomid 🙊.
Where are you with everything?

LaurenN23 · 18/12/2019 15:40

@Sylva123 Ah okay! This threads for everyone on similar meds, ignore the title!

I'm ttc #1 2 years, 25, PCOS, DH SA is all good, I had high prolactin levels so went on meds for that, when my level dropped I ovulated for the first time ever naturally but didn't fall pregnant, then my consultant wanted me to just go straight to clomid so I'm on my first round, CD16 and I got my first positive opk of the cycle yesterday morning, it was negative again this morning so hoping I ovulate today/tomorrow - we've dtd every day for 7 days so far 😂 knackered!! Hoping and praying I get my BFP soon ❤️

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 15:56

Oh that's exciting to get your positive opk. I hope it works for you this month. You're doing everything you can! And fair play for dtd every day! My OH is 42 (I'm 36) and he keeps saying he's an old man and can't dtd every day like he used to!
It's great that they didn't make you wait and put you straight on clomid. I had two years of waiting and I wish I'd known the issue sooner so I could have done something.
Good luck this month!

LaurenN23 · 18/12/2019 16:54

@Sylva123 it is exhausting, both physically and mentally, it peeves me when people say 'trying is the fun part' and I feel like screaming 'not if you've been doing it for 2 years to no avail!'

what's your story? I'm sure you've shared it in the thread but it's hard to keep up and remember the details!

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 17:00

@LaurenN23 I hear you... I feel totally exhausted by it and I feel like it's changed me. I used to be so bubbly and optimistic and always smiling and full of beans and lately I feel so knackered and blue. I've also been trying for #1 for 2 years now. I have a luteal phase defect which means my progesterone is super low for some reason and there's never enough time for the egg to implant before AF comes - cycles are irregular and short. Progesterone & cyclogest lengthened them this month though, so I feel like at least something is moving in the right direction! I had my first normal luteal phase!

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 17:01

And yes "trying is the fun part" haha!! Xx

LaurenN23 · 18/12/2019 17:04

@Sylva123 brilliant news that it's lengthened this cycle! Finally getting somewhere! Fingers crossed now for next cycle 🤞🏻 I also feel like a shell of my former self, I feel like I don't have a personality anymore, I just live in a constant thick fog. I think about TTC 24/7 and it's exhausting. I've become such a pessimist and a worrier, I used to be care free now I'm a miserable bastard haha 😂

carleygh · 18/12/2019 17:27

I feel the same @Sylva123x should I leave but I don't want to 😂 my consultant told me over stimulation doesn't happen with Letrozole it that helps x

carleygh · 18/12/2019 17:28

Also does anyone have any idea if my period will be later than expected because I ovulated late? X

CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 17:43

@carleyg how long is your luteal phase hun? Count how many days from the day after ovulation to the day your period started last month, then this month you ovulated the Friday wasn't it so if your luteal phase is 14 days you'll be due to come on 27th x

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 17:46

@laurenN23 I'm so sorry you feel that way too, but am also glad to have someone that understands. A " thick fog" is exactly it. I think it's because we don't know how long this journey is gonna be - it could be months or years more of this, or we could get our bfp next month. It's so difficult for people to get it outside of this little bubble.

I hope we return to ourselves in 2020!

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 17:46

@carleygh that really does help, thank you! I'll cancel my appt on Xmas Eve so someone else can have it & so I can go home and see my dad :-) There's no point me going so early in my cycle if there's no danger of over stimulation.

And yes @carleygh if you ovulated late it should push your period back if you have a steady luteal phase like most people. I think most people get AF 12-14 days after ovulating? (My luteal phase is a weirdo so not completely sure of what's normal).

Sylva123 · 18/12/2019 17:46

Oops sorry didn't see @CharlotteCx had already answered you xx

carleygh · 18/12/2019 19:29

Amazing that makes sense @Sylva123 @CharlotteCx so I'll be due 27th as my phase is 15 days. Just a reminder do I count the day I ovulated as day 1? I don't know if it was the Friday or the Saturday as I got positives both days? X

CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 19:42

Your luteal phase starts as soon as you've ovulated ☺️

CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 19:45

@Jesskir89 sorry only just seen this, we dtd on the Sunday Monday thurs fri and sat and I ovulated the Friday, and thank u :)

Beth804 · 18/12/2019 20:01

@Jesskir89 Thanks very much! 🥰 We dtd every other day x

How u feeling @Beth804 ? Are your boobs still sore ? I was sick this morning 🙈 my friends baby done a poo and the smell of it made me throw up 🤣 god knows how il cope at work I'm a support worker & change people on a daily basis 🤦🏻‍♀️

Beth804 · 18/12/2019 20:15

Oh no @CharlotteCx , hope it was a one off! Yeah, boobs still sore and feel massive! I'm just feeling knackered at the moment! Consultant said I should have an early scan to check for multiples because of the clomid 🙀. You should ask about it - we were going to pay for one anyway!
