Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

@Nmvesey, as far as I am aware my clinic just doesn't do EC over xmas. They did say depending on DR scan and when it happens I may need to take meds a couple extra days.
It's crazy how everyone's clinic is different

Nmvasey · 15/12/2019 21:49

I know , it’s strange. I mean I’m sure they know what they’re doing and they’ve got good success rates, just no doubting now hearing other people’s protocols

notReginaPhalange · 16/12/2019 09:18

@41trying interesting to know that you started the treatment and you still don't know the key dates. I've read that once you start the treatment they give you a timeline tailored for you. Apparently it's not the case then. My January is full-on work-wise, was hoping to clear some dates to make sure I don't have any trips on those dates, but looks like it all will be last-minute... :(

41trying · 16/12/2019 12:35

@notReginaPhalange I think especially long protocol, it depends when AF arrives and how you respond to meds, making sure folicols are correct size ready for trigger that's why they cant give dates. Well that is what my clinic said to me

UnicornPuff · 16/12/2019 12:38

@41trying and @notReginaPhalange I have been given dates for EC and ET but been told that they may all change depending on how the progress scans look. So rough dates!

Sabz36 · 16/12/2019 15:15

Not sure if anyone can answer but if AF arrives on the weekend can you start stims?

41trying · 16/12/2019 16:16

@Sabz36 have you been given any meds or been told when to take them?

Sabz36 · 16/12/2019 16:19

@41trying not yet I'm having my consultation 2nd with the nurse then AF starts 11th

41trying · 16/12/2019 16:33

@Sabz36 they will run through it all with you, depending on protocol.
I did a short protocol with no down regging and started Stims on day 5 of cycle

Millie202002 · 16/12/2019 16:38

Hi I haven’t been on here in a while as been busy working/Xmas.
Has everyone started their cycles?
I’m wondering if anyone else is awaiting a period due this week to call their clinic (long protocol) I’m really nervous to call incase they say I can’t start due to Christmas, even though I wouldn’t start till 21 days so that works out as janruary 6th and that’s when the clinic re opens x

41trying · 16/12/2019 21:12

@Millie20202 evening! I am waiting AF should have arrived today but on day 9 of buserlin with a no show. I really need it to come in the next few days for DR scan, so they can decide when I start my meds if all is good.
I hate waiting. My clinic just doesn't do EC over xmas, so fingers crossed it works out within the dates

FlapJackered · 17/12/2019 07:05

@BambiOnIce80 drugs arrive today! It feels like Christmas Day! 😂
It's my last fertile week this week so I am praying for a Christmas pre-ivf miracle!
I am half Swedish and one of our Christmas traditions is a meal where we take shots throughout, i don't know how I am going to get away with not drinking with the whole extended family there 🙈, they will probably think I am pregnant!

@Millie202002 good luck! Fingers crossed the dates work out for you.
I am not starting until new year, so a bit later than you.

Mrbay · 17/12/2019 22:17

Hi all, can I join?
I'll be starting injections on the 28th, ready for a FET towards the end of Jan.
It'll be my 3rd transfer, 1st didn't stick, 2nd stuck for a few weeks then at 5/6 weeks. So fingers crossed this one is genetically normal 🤞
We've got funding via the NHS and due to DH being in the army we get 3 full cycles, has to be some benefits!
Male and female factors at play so low eggs and sperm that needs a sat nav!

BambiOnIce80 · 18/12/2019 07:50

Well, a very merry early Christmas to you @FlapJackered! 💊💉🎁🎄😄 Keeping my fingers crossed for you for that natural Christmas miracle 🤞🍀🤞🍀

Welcome @Mrbay 👋 I'm doing my first (& only) long protocol fresh cycle for primary unexplained and I start my buserelin jabs on the 27th, so our time lines might be similar-ish, even though we're doing different types of cycles?! Hopefully it'll be third time's a charm for you 🍀

How're you doing @Nmvasey and @duckhouse? Are you guys at the scanning stage yet or have you got a while longer with the buserelin?

Day 9 of microgynon for me and 8 more to go before I hit the buserelin 💊💉 I've not been on the pill for about a decade, but I'm having some seriously vivid dreams over the last few nights (don't remember that being a thing the last time I was on it 🤔). Was having the standard "I really need the loo and everyone that I can find is occupied/filthy/unlockable/doesn't have a door on it" dream, but then I walked past a massive mirror and saw that I'd got a big black silhouette of a tattoo across my neck and began freaking out because it looked 🤬ing awful!. DP was then chuckling at me and telling me I'd gotten drunk the night before and had had it done - didn't I remember?! He spun me around and on my shoulder was a massive black silhouette of a rearing 'my little pony' unicorn and it was the horn that was across my neck 🦄 😱 Panicked so much that I woke myself up, bathed in sweat! 😰 Seriously - what's all that about?! 😂

Chooklass · 18/12/2019 08:58

Hi all! Sorry - set up this thread then disappeared for a bit, but glad to see it's still going! I'm on BCP until 3rd, egg transfer due last week of Jan. All happening a bit later than I'd hoped.

Yesterday was a nightmare. I had my egg transfer trial and despite trying several ways they couldn't get through my cervix 😬. I have to go back in a few days for an operation to 'stretch' my cervix. Holy crap - what?! Of all the problems I'd imagined, this is not one of them! I'll be knocked out so won't feel anything, but still. I guess that's why they do a trial?!

notReginaPhalange · 18/12/2019 10:55

@Chooklass bloody hell, obstacles everywhere! Was it painful? Especially once they realised it's not coming through? I have my transfer trial tomorrow, feeling a bit uneasy about it.

Chooklass · 18/12/2019 11:15

@notReginaPhalange I found the second attempt more painful as they made me fill my bladder up and a nurse was pressing down on my bladder with the ultrasound thingy while the doc was poking about. They decided pretty quick it wouldn't go in, thankfully. Most folk are fine with it, apparently! I'm totally dreading the stretching op though! 😳

BambiOnIce80 · 18/12/2019 12:27

Crikey, sorry to hear the practice transfer was a bit of an ordeal @Chooklass 😞💐 Thank god they found out in the practice! I know someone who had similar, but during the HSG procedure whilst being investigated - they forced it open there and then without any anaesthetic! 😱 Really good news that your clinic is being more sensible about it (and giving you lots of lovely anaesthetic!).

If it helps relax you at all @notReginaPhalange, I had my practice transfer last Tuesday and I was lucky that the catheter went through without a hitch - didn't even really feel it. Very similar to a smear test (speculum wise), so not much different if the cervix isn't blocked 👍🤞🏻👍🤞🏻

Chooklass · 18/12/2019 12:44

@BambiOnIce80 My HSG was a nightmare! They had to stop it, but nothing was mentioned at the time about why, or that it should be fixed. I'm a bit annoyed about that now!

OP posts:
Nmvasey · 18/12/2019 13:44

Ah @chooklass that sounds painful!

Does anyone have super dry lips or bad skin whilst on bureselin?

BambiOnIce80 · 18/12/2019 13:51

Eeek @Chooklass! 😨 Does that mean that you could have been blocked for all this time? Remind me, are you unexplained? Hope I'm not overstepping here by putting my thoughts out there (massive apologies if I am! 😳), but if so, could that be your explanation?!

Chooklass · 18/12/2019 14:31

Hi @BambiOnIce80 ! Yes, we're unexplained. They said it can't be totally blocked (because periods can get out, so sperm could get in!), but I can't help wondering if it's been contributing.

OP posts:
UnicornPuff · 18/12/2019 17:45

@Chooklass did they struggle with the Hsg dye test? That sounds exceptionally stressful fingers crossed it is over quickly and quick recover.

Millie202023 · 19/12/2019 10:33

Have started AF and clinic said I can start down reg the 9th of jan. scared and excited all rolled into one at the moment! Anyone starting around the same time as me. Btw I’m sorry if anyone replied to me and I havent acknowledged, there’s so many comments I get a bit lost in it all looking at who replies to what and who lol. X

41trying · 19/12/2019 10:39

Morning all. Day 12 of buserlin for me and no sign of AF should have been Monday. If it doesn't come by Friday I'm not sure I will get my DR scan done. I hate this waiting game. Anyone else AF arrive late when taking buserlin?
