Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

@meganlouise1988 that it so unexpected, I’m really sorry. Crossing everything for you for today, when are you expecting to hear? X

Meganlouise1988 · 12/01/2020 10:04

Thanks guys, I’ll ask when they call. And to those using frozen sperm, try not to let this worry you - it’s VERY rare to have zero fertilisation. X

UnicornPuff · 12/01/2020 10:08

@Meganlouise1988 I got the letters wrong Blush CAVD/CBAVD is congenital (bilateral) absence of vas deferens. Not always but I think the main cause is either cystic fibrosis or CF carrier. We didnt like my husband was a carrier until the diagnosis of CAVD. The consultant uroligist guessed the cause prior to the bloods confirming.
Did they freeze all three vials? And would they have used the less mobile vial first? I hope they answer your questions well when they phone today.

Meganlouise1988 · 12/01/2020 10:13

@UnicornPuff oh yes that’s what they’ve said my partner has (or doesn’t). Did your husband have a scan or anything? Mine never has. Yes they froze all 3, I would hope they didn’t use the less mobile one first but I do wonder...they said the first 2 were moving well so I just can’t get my head round it. Has your husband had SSR? X

UnicornPuff · 12/01/2020 10:40

@Meganlouise1988 yeah he had a USS tested to confirm and bloods tests which confirmed the reason. The consultant was amazing and told us everything then arranged tests to confirm what he had already felt.
He had a SSR before we started IVF drugs. They did a sample freeze and thaw on the day but said it doesn't guarantee a good thaw on the day.
How is your partner coping with the whole process?

Meganlouise1988 · 12/01/2020 10:44

@UnicornPuff what’s a USS? We didn’t have a sample freeze and thaw, are you NHS? He’s gutted, keeps saying sorry, breaks my heart 😪

UnicornPuff · 12/01/2020 10:57

@Meganlouise1988 ultrasound of testes. It's just a scan which confirmed they had not developed. We are NHS and they did a sample freeze and thaw on the day of SSR I guess it is a clinic thing.
It's so hard watching the person you love feel so guilty over something they have not caused and have no control over.

BambiOnIce80 · 12/01/2020 11:14

I'm so, so sorry to hear your news @Meganlouise1988 😔 I understand what you mean about grieving and it's awful that your husband is feeling responsible for something he has absolutely no control over. Sending you love and the best of luck for the next step 🍀💙

FlapJackered · 12/01/2020 15:09

@Meganlouise1988 I am so so sorry ❤️ that must have been very hard especially after doing so well with the eggs. I hope you are ok and have some support. I don't know if it will help you but I always find a good way to look at it is that your baby just isn't ready yet, soon it will all go to plan and this will just be a hard memory. Sending lots of love xxx

jcurve · 12/01/2020 16:45

I’m really sorry @Meganlouise1988 to hear your news. Sending lots of love - take care of yourselves over the next few weeks xx

41trying · 12/01/2020 17:20

@Meganlouise1988, so sorry to hear, I hope your holding up ok. I know it wont matter what we all say right now that will ease the pain, but I hope they have some answers for you over the next few days so you can move forward.
I've been through EC twice which didnt fertilise, different story but understand how you feel.

Kellyprt1 · 12/01/2020 17:50

@Meganlouise1988 sorry to hear :(, I hope your OK xx

Chooklass · 12/01/2020 21:41

Day 4 stims here. No side effects yet but ganirelix injections are not fun! Seems to be a bigger needle than bemfola? And stings 😩.

I think a few of you have EC tomorrow - good luck! Xx

@Meganlouise1988 That must have been so difficult to hear. Hope you are okay xx

Had my second progress scan day 10 of stimulation. I am ready for collection. 3 eggs over 18 with 4 over 14 so they think I have a maximum potential of 7 eggs on Wednesday!
How is everyone's progress scans going?

BaileyBadger4 · 13/01/2020 09:58

@UnicornPuff I am on day 5 of stims (Menopur) and have my first progress scan on Wednesday 😬🤞 Been feeling fine on the stims. Had a couple of twinges yesterday and a period-pain like feeling on day 1 but all in all been feeling 👌

Good luck everybody today! 😘❤️

MissHoney85 · 13/01/2020 10:13

Egg collection done, now waiting around to be allowed home. It was all fine. They got 10 eggs which I'm happy with. They can't say yet how many are mature but early signs are good. They will call tomorrow morning to tell how many have fertilised 🤞

Meganlouise1988 · 13/01/2020 10:15

Good luck today everyone xxx

Lily999 · 13/01/2020 10:15

Girls, I know it happens to people, but I can't believe I am now one of them.
AF was due yesterday and there is no sign of it arriving whatsoever. I am not pregnant because DH had an awful virus during my fertile window, but I always spot about 2-4days before AF arrives. Nothing. Nothing at all. I am a regular and it is so annoying I know people say that, but the ONLY time I want AF to arrive and it's late.
I have to call the clinic and go for a scan on day 3, I was gonna go tomorrow, but now as it is not happening I am getting more and more frustrated. Anything I can do to get it come? Any tips? I want to start stimms so desperately I have been waiting for this for almost a year now and it's so difficult! :(
