Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

@flapJackered day 10 it was so not as much time left to grow. They are scanning me again on Monday and then looking at either Wed or Thursday for EC. I have Low amh so at the min for my circumstances things are looking OK. How many days left have you got before EC?

Feline123 · 11/01/2020 10:15

I got my times and details for EC over the phone...the nurse was brilliant, spoke clearly and went over it twice....I wrote everything down and yet I’m still worried I wrote down the times wrong!! I’ll be so glad when this part is done so I can stop worrying about it!

FlapJackered · 11/01/2020 10:40

@Kellyprt1 same as you, they are saying it is likely to be Wednesday for EC if I look ready by then but I think it will all depend on Monday's scan. 🤞🏻for both of us!

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 11:11

@FlapJackered i am on mild IVF as well and stimming for 9 days, 2days later egg collection which is monday. Do u mind me asking your dose?
I asked why i was on a low dose, i was told i was doing mild IVF. My dose of gonal f was 150/112.5 and 75iu.
@Meganlouise1988 sure I can self certify for a week, I was avoiding that just incase I might need to self certify during pregnancy(100% positive it's my time). I pray and hope for everyone here to be successful.

FlapJackered · 11/01/2020 11:27

@Rovera12 I was originally on 75iu of bemfola then they increased it to 125iu. I am not sure if it is the same as Gonal F? I am on day 9 of stimming today but they are looking at Wednesday for me as most of my follicles are a bit slow growing.
How are you feeling about the EC? I am quite keen to get it done now.

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 13:08

@FlapJackered I am excited it happening on monday and so positive it's going to work, at the same time thinking if it does not happen how will I cope?
Wow we worry for everything, from how good one is responding to how many eggs retrieved, and then hoping it reaches blast stage ,finally worry over the two week wait for pregnancy test been positive.
I also also hoping they allow me transfer two embryos if I get enough .

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 13:12

@Meganlouise1988 how are u feeling today post egg collection?

BambiOnIce80 · 11/01/2020 16:52

Afternoon ladies 👋 My scan was at 9.30 this morning and I've just had the final call with my oestradiol result and the plan!

Scan showed 2 follicles that are ready to go with about 8-10 at 16-15mm, so they want to do EC on Tuesday to give the ones that are nearly there time to catch up 🤞🏻 The catch is that my oestradiol is getting into OHSS territory, so I might've had to have gone in on Monday if today's result was way higher than yesterday's. My result today is higher again (9100), but is not "outrageous" so they're happy to give the stragglers until Tuesday to catch up 👍 Dropped my final dose of gonal-f tomorrow to 150IU and then ovitrelle at midnight... on a school night! 😫 No idea how I'm going to stay awake until then and still be able to function on Monday! I'm soooo not a night owl!🦉😴

On the deodorant front, the nurse said it's fine to wear it as long as it's not strong smelling, so no body spray, perfume, heavy make up etc (she pointed out that they all wear deodorant! 😂). Finally get to crack open my EC nightie that I've had waiting in the wings too! 🤩

And I've just realiaed @Chooklass that we may indeed be in the Simpsons waiting room at the same time! 😄 They want us in at 8am on Tuesday! 😁

Sweets208 · 11/01/2020 16:55

Hi, can i join you ladies? I'm new to mumsnet and first time posting anything. Was due to start IVF last September but fell pregnant naturally after trying for almost 3 years. Unfortunately had missed miscarriage. So we've gone back to the original plan and starting IVF as I'm older and do not have a lot of time to mess about. Period started yesterday so tonight I am due to give myself my first injection... Scary.. I'm not looking forward to mixing up these drugs... I've had an opportunity to read your posts and wish all of you the best

Chooklass · 11/01/2020 17:08

Exciting @BambiOnIce80 !!! I prob won't be there for my scan until 8:30 to avoid the initial 8am rush so you'll probably be through waiting in your cubicle by then! I'll send positive thoughts through the corridor for you!! 🤞 (Also glad I'm not the only one who bought new nightwear ... 🤣🤣)

Hi @Sweets208 , welcome to the group! Sorry about your loss - that must have been awful 💐x

BaileyBadger4 · 11/01/2020 17:22

Welcome @Sweets208 👋😊

Ladies who have bought new nightwear.. is that for after the procedure or to wear during the procedure? I'd like to buy some but not sure when I'm supposed to put it on! Haha as I think they give you hospital gowns don't they? lol

Chooklass · 11/01/2020 17:36

@BaileyBadger4 I think it depends on clinic. In Edinburgh we just wear our own nightie or pj top for procedure. When I had my cervix op last month they got me to change into bedclothes as soon as I got there in morning, then took off bottoms just before going into theatre.

OP posts:
BambiOnIce80 · 11/01/2020 17:41

@BaileyBadger4 the clinic that @Chooklass and I are going to ask you to bring your own nightie for the procedure to try and keep everything nice and chilled and less clinical... Which led me to run out and buy one just for the occasion! 😂 Everything I have is small and lacey/satiny and definitely not for public consumption! 😳

@Chooklass the queues weren't too bad on our Tuesday appointment, but it was crazy, crazy busy on Friday! The consultant said that Monday's and Friday's are by far the busiest and all the clinic staff dread them! I'll be sending positive vibes right back atccha' on Tuesday 💓😊

Welcome @Sweets208 👋 Good luck with your first jab tonight 🍀

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 18:00

@Sweets208 welcome to the group! It's the best group I ever joined. Learnt alot of things here and the lovely ladies here gives me hope one way or the other .
@BaileyBadger4 my clinic asked me to come with a dressing gown and slippers, though it also says gown will be provided.

Chooklass · 11/01/2020 18:18

@BambiOnIce80 That's good to know! I was in on a Friday at 8am a few weeks ago and it was certainly mad!

I'm taking my thick dressing gown this time as I was cold when I came round after cervix procedure. 🥶 I thought hospitals were always too hot so had brought all thin things! I think I'll take my own food as the lunch they provided wasn't great (cheap white bread sandwich and yoghurt). That makes me sound like total food snob but I'm not usually fussy (and I was so hungry I wolfed it down anyway 😂).

BambiOnIce80 · 11/01/2020 18:59

Oooh, thanks for the heads up @Chooklass! I am a total foodie and hadn't thought about bringing our own snacks 🥯😋 The unit was nice and warm this morning (and the nurse apologised about the heat!), but I think I'll rummage through the wardrobes and find a suitable dressing gown out tomorrow - don't think my usual onesie will be acceptable! 😄

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 19:03

Hello ladies I need an answer please. I was told to take my cetrotide I ejection at 6.30 and then take my trigger shot at 8.30pm. I was really busy at work a d forgot, I just took it at 7pm! I dont know if I should trigger at 9pm or 8.30pm really confused now 😂

UnicornPuff · 11/01/2020 19:14

@Rovera12 I would call and speak to the out of hours pharmacy and then leave an answer phone message telling them when you took your trigger. I think they are quite specific about times for trigger and then EC. My guess is the pharmacy will tell you to take at the agreed trigger time but that's why they have emergency numbers!

BaileyBadger4 · 11/01/2020 19:26

Thanks guys. So how long does the EC and ET procedures actually take? From going in to leaving the hospital? I know I'll get told more nearer the time but always good to be pre-prepared 😂👌

Rovera12 · 11/01/2020 19:51

@UnicornPuff you are right, I just called the emergency line and left a message . The doctor just called me back now to take it at 8.30pm. Feeling better now 😁

Sabz36 · 11/01/2020 20:08

I'm having my first scan Thursday following starting stims tomorrow. I'm on Bemfola pre filled so no mixing, has anyone else had any side effects?

Chooklass · 11/01/2020 20:16

Hi @Sabz36 I'm on day 3 of bemfola and only just started to get a few stabby pains around ovaries today. I had a bad headache the first day so have been making sure I drink loads of water.

Kellyprt1 · 11/01/2020 20:16

Can I ask you all a question. When you have your ultrasound does you oh go in with you. Mine never has as no need but she told me loads of things the other day on my scan and I didn't take any of it in and I had ask the nurse to come out and talk to my husband. If I asked if he could be in there would they let him?

Chooklass · 11/01/2020 20:18

My OH always comes in @Kellyprt1 - I always need to ask him if he remembers what they were saying!
