Dec/ Jan IVF support

Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Ok done with scan. Egg collection likely to be on monday after my blood results .
My lining is 15.4b, follicles 4 btw 20mm and 14mm and 12 within 10mm and 14mm

My full on PMS hit today meaning AF is expected probably on Monday so I can start stimms on Wednesday, I also need this weekend to fly by haha
@rovera12 when will you find out the results of the blood test?

This is so strange reading all these posts, so many of you are experiencing the same things as me at the same times! I too have had a lot of cm and panicked but my scan this morning went well... I have 12 follicles and a good lining so the EC is going ahead on Monday, eek! Somehow feel better about it now that I know when it’s going to be!

I’m having IV sedation... does that mean I’ll be awake during the EC? Xx

Thank you so much everyone! I thought I’d be out of it for a few days but I feel great 😂 I think that’s maybe relief more than anything. I’m back in bed now and have a little bit of pain but nothing like what I expected. It’s honestly so much easier than I anticipated. Re time off, I would definitely give yourself at least another day off the day after, just to rest and recover. They gave me a painkiller which lasts 18 hours so the pain might increase but I’ll let you know. It’s just felt abit like period pain with a few shooting pains xxx

I’m so nervous waiting for my next scan to see my lining and determine transfer date it’s awful but such a long way away still, not until the 22nd which seems AGES

I had my scan this morning and it was a bit confusing, I have got two follicles steaming ahead then lots of smaller ones at around 9/10mm - I think their plan is to sacrifice the big ones and wait for all the others to come up. Just waiting to hear if they will up my dose again.Lining is good at 10mm though, so that is something!

@Meganlouise1988 that is fantastic news! Keeping everything crossed that all those eggs turn into embryos.

@unicornpuff My lining is 10mm too today. It looks like we are at a similar stage. They are aiming for EC on Wednesday next week for me.

@BambiOnIce80 that is great news! Although frustrating you haven't got the date settled yet, hopefully it will all work out.

Sedation should mean that you'll be conscious but probably won't remember any of it @Feline123 , even though you might be chatting away to the staff! I'm trepidatious about it, but I trust the clinic that it'll be fine 🤞🏻

I've just spoken to the clinic and my oestradiol is 6600 (was 1170 on Tuesday), so they want me back in tomorrow morning to find out if EC will be Monday or Tuesday now... the twists and turns never stop! 😄 Rang my hairdresser and the absolute superstar has managed to move my appointment back to 12.00pm from 10.30am 👌

... This is clearly the most important part ladies - I will not have horrendous roots for EC day!! 😜

@Lily999 I got the call now that egg collection is going ahead on monday. Last gonal f tonight (reduced dose).
@Feline123 yea fingers crossed for us all on monday.
@BambiOnIce80 mine was 4800 (oestradil)from the blood test on Wednesday. I did not ask what the levels where today when I got called,to be sincere I dont even know what it means(pardon me).

I’m pretty sure the nurse said I didn’t need to do stims injection (Gonal f) on the day of trigger injection but still need to take DR buserelin... does that sound right?!

@Lily999 I am at pretty much the same stage as you- first DR scan on Monday and hoping to start stims on Tuesday. I am on merional, what are you on?

Hi @rainbow178 I am waiting for my period to start (Due Sunday or Monday), I have to call the clinic and go in 2days later for the fist scan. On that day they will give me my meds so at this point I only know that it will be one of these:
Gonal-F/Bemdola/Menopur/Meriofert, but I don't know which one. Also that on day 5 of stimms I will have to start Ganirelix then wait for EC day. So we could be on the same, but I will only know it on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on which day will good old AF friend of mine shows up.

Can I ask you ladies closer to EC day how many scans have you had altogether? Trying to have a rough idea so I can schedule work and stuff.. Thanks!

12 hours on my feet with this great big swollen belly isn't pleasant under my uniform I have undone buttons to be trousers haha

Can a 8mm catch up I was thinking does doing a bit small to catch up not sure why she measured it

@Lily999 I had 4 scans in total, every other day (excluding weekends!) but only had scans once I started stims, which for me was Gonal f!

@feline123 yes I was told not to take my gonal f on trigger day.
@Lily999 I had in total 4 scan same as @feline123.
@Kellyprt1 I am about to finish my 12hour shift in 3 hours, goodluck till the end of your shift. My nurse said the little follicles will likely catch up.

@FlapJackered did they say they would be sacrificing the 2 bigger follicles? My clinic kept saying about the others catching up so I assumed that the bigger ones slow down! Are your big ones already ready?

@Lily999 I started stims last sat and had my first scan today. I am now the same as @feline124 scan every other day except weekends till EC which is either next wednesday or friday.

@UnicornPuff they are not quite ready, they are at about 14/15mm and the rest are between 8-10mm. She did mention the others may catch up, but I think what she meant was that she wouldn't reduce the meds for the sake of the larger ones. She wasn't overly clear though so I could have completely misunderstood! 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Rovera12 do you work in health care too my work has been good to be honest. Two more shifts and then off for two weeks.
@flapJackered what day stimming are you on?

@kellyprt1 yes I work with the nhs and a very very busy ward. I tried not to tell anyone including my managers as I managed to go for scan by swapping shift once n the other days my shift was to start late.
I have 2days annual leave which I will use for egg collection on Monday, go back to work Thursday and Friday. Next Saturday is hopefully my ET I will have to call in sick and send my sick note in on Monday.
If you don’t mind me asking @kellyprt1 is your two weeks off sick or annual leave?

Hello ladies can I ask those off work for 2weeks wait, did you get a sick note from GP or from the IVF clinic. Hopefully my egg collection is Saturday and I won’t be able to see my GP till the following Monday.

@Rovera12 I have EC Monday, I've got the day off and I'll have the day off for transfer.
I think I may drive myself mad having 2 weeks off as it will be a long waiting game, but then again I have more admin job role and out on the road, so no lifting or anything.

@41trying a lot of lifting, pushing and all . I will go to Scotland and Oxford to see my nieces .

@Rovera12 I work for a private company that works inside NHS hospital doing mri scanning its leave. I can't get no time of sick for ivf. My boss knows and she has been really good.
It's so hard when things get moved around as well. I have got to work tomorrow and Monday. Its the Monday one that will be the worst as I am starting to get uncomfortable and we have more elderly etc on a Monday.
My husband works for NHS. He has struggled but no giving them an exact date for next week for op as he has clinic.. So hard isn't it

@Kellyprt1 yesterday's scan was day 8 of stimming. I was thinking the same about my 8mm ones, but apparently they can catch up? What day are you on? I am on mild ivf so I think generally it can take longer to get follicles to EC size.

@Rovera12 my clinic will give me my sick note. They said they will give it me on transfer day and backdate it to EC, so might be worth asking? Don’t forget you can self certify for a week too. X
