Dec/ Jan IVF support

Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Other than an intermittent headache I’ve had no other real systems on stims so far, kind of willing on some cramping etc... well I never thought I’d hear myself wanting side effects. IVF officially sends you nuts! 🤯

Good luck with your scan too @Rovera12 it is so worrying I’m really sure my DH doesn’t get the brain power keeping sane takes!

@unicornpuff I get migraines anyway so I found myself taking my migraine medication on the really bad days, triptans & antisickness tablets & on not so bad days I ate salt & vinegar crisps, drank flat coke, took ibruprofen & whinged 😂

I finally started my period and had my downreg scan today which showed 13 follicles and E2 result of 96 pmol/L. Does that sound about right? I'm not sure what'a normal estradiol level should be at this stage.

Hey guys, quick question, I'm booked in for a back neck & shoulders sports massage on Monday. I've got knots in my shoulders that normal massages just don't touch. Suddenly thought, am I even allowed to have a deep-tissue sports massage whilst stimming?? Second guessing everything right now 😂

Also got an acupuncture session booked in for the 17th after my day 10 scan. Can't hurt right 🤷‍♀️☺️❤️

Evening all. First night tonight the tight tummy and bloating. I have my last scan in the morning that will hopefully confirm EC for Monday.

After a day of no symptoms at all ladies, I've come home, nipped to the loo and I have a f🤬k tonne of EWCM 😳 I remember that we talked about this earlier in the thread, but I've scrolled back 7 pages and can't find what was said! 😣 Can anyone remember if this is something to be worried about or not?! I'm dreading getting to tomorrow's scan to be told "whoops, looks like you've ovulated already - soz. End of the road for you" 🥺

... It'd certainly explain why I'm not feeling bloated today if all of my eggs have done a runner already!! 😭

@ BambiOnIce80 can I call you my twin for tonight? I was about to post aswell asking if it’s a bad sign or not to see EWCM and if it’s bad to have the jab on my Yiggs? I felt bloated after dinner and could not bear giving it on my stomach tonight(don’t know if it was my food),I also felt some twinges on my right ovaries.
Hopefully tomorrow is good news for everyone.

I've been jabbing my thighs more than my stomach @Rovera12 (aka twinnie 😉) because there's more room on those for jabs than my stomach! 😄 The nurse said that's absolutely fine and to be encouraged so that we don't keep injecting into the same site 💉 👍

@ BambiOnIce80 thank you . yes from tonight I won’t do on my stomach anymore. I started my reduced dose tonight 112.5iu.

@BambiOnIce80 I am so glad you said about the EWCM as I had the same yesterday! I think it must be a good sign from the oestrogen our follicles are giving off? I googled it and it seems quite common. 😬 Hopefully our eggs haven't done a runner yet! 😂

EWCM strikes here today too, how strange! Look forward to hearing everyone’s update who has scans today - could I be cheeky and ask that someone mentions the EWCM and let’s us know what they say? Dr google says it’s all pretty normal but always good to get medical clarification

Had my day 6 scan today lining is 10. Left has 4 follicles between 11-14 right 6 follicles between 9-16. The nurse thinks there is the potential my collection will be brought forward from next friday to wednesday.
Having been reading this thread I know it potentially wont but i am going to have to arrange with work just in case.
I have been so worried as I am completely symptom free other than headaches which seems less linked than bloating etc!
How has everyone else got on?

I had 10.
2 on my right ovary
1 thats only 8 needs to catch up :s
7 on left she is concerned about them accessing them funny position so I won't know until day where it's good number or only ones from right
Lining was 9.7 :)

Morning all. I had EWCM this morning too. Well scan went ok, lining 13.6 which she said was beautiful and took scan pic lol. 3 follicles are 3 at 18 and 2, 16 one 10. She said 2 had gone already from Wednesday scan but still good enough to collect. Wait for a call this afternoon to give me time for trigger Sat, already for EC Monday. I need this weekend to fly by now

Good to read everyone's good scan news! They were happy with mine. I'm a little concerned that they're too big now - mostly 18-22mm with a couple of stragglers - esp with egg collection not until Monday. The nurses seemed happy with it all though so just have to put my faith in them I guess and stop looking at Dr Google!

After tonnes of worrying yesterday my scan showed that everything's going OK after all 😪 Lining 10.7mm and more follicles than I had on Tuesday - 11 on the left and 7 on the right. Biggest is 17mm and smallest was 8mm, so don't think all of them will be viable. They apparently want 3 eggs over 18mm to do collection. They've sent me away with the trigger shot and instructions that I'll be told when my oestrogen result is back between 2 & 3pm this afternoon if EC will be Tuesday or Wednesday. If it's going to be Tuesday, then I'll have to go in for a scan tomorrow morning (my appointment at the hairdressers is bloody doomed! 😂) and if it's going to be Wednesday then I'll be back in on Monday for the scan.

Very relieved that the lack of symptoms didn't mean anything! I'm now wondering if the acupuncture the night before might have helped ameliorate them 🤔 I mentioned the EWCM @Nmvasey and the consultant wasn't worried at all. Said it was to be expected 👍

Having EC during the week have people taken the next day off too? I am not having GA but sedation so just wondering if people recommend it or not.

I'm having fentanyl (sedation) for my EC @UnicornPuff and the consultant said I'll definitely need the day off of it and after it.

It's more because of the injury to the ovaries though than the GA/sedation aspect!

@UnicornPuff I had the same sedation as EC for my cervix op before xmas and they were very firm about me being with a responsible adult/ not driving/ cooking, etc for a full 24 hours after I came out. To be honest I felt fine the next morning but think EC will be sorer so that might be more of a factor than the sedation itself?

I’m up and awake! Fabulous news with the scans ladies, I’m so happy for you!! They managed to get 14 eggs so I’m absolutely ecstatic, from my follicles I only thought I’d get about 10 which I would have also been very happy with. Feeling quite woozy and tired but so relieved it’s over and done with. It also was not as bad as I expected, was on the verge of tears when I went into the theatre room but it’s over so quickly. Was awake before I knew it. Embryologist is calling tomorrow apparently to let us know if any have fertilised. Have a good day everyone, hoping scans etc have helped put minds at rest xxx

Am pleased to read everyone's scan went well.
My appointment is for 9.20 and am here almost an hour later to be called in for scan. Blood test done so fingers crossed.

Day 8 for me. I have 7 “good follicles” out of 17 and 12mm lining. It looks like my egg collection might be pushed back a day or two to allow some of the promising stragglers to catch up.

@BaileyBadger4 I had a remedial massage on Monday (likewise get really bad muscle knots!). My clinic said it was totally fine as long as you’re not in a very hot room (ie sweating profusely).
