Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Oooh, very exciting that you're onto stims next @Nmvasey! 🤩 Who knew that they put us into groups?! My AF is still going on, so I'm tentatively daring to hope that I might be joining you on Friday if I'm in the right group! 🤞🏻🔮 🤞🏻🔮

Hope your scan goes well today too @Kellyprt1 🍀 I'm not sure if they do the AFC again 🤔 My doc said at the first scan of the cycle that that AFC would be the one that we'll be cultivating with the drugs going forward (because the down reg stops the cycle there, basically). Let us know how you get on.x

Glad to hear that the extra days took care of what it needed to @41trying 👍🏻 How did the stims jabs go this morning? 💉

41trying · 31/12/2019 11:52

@BambiOnlce80 I'm doing mine in the evening.
The nurse said the needle of them are not great, so I will need to jab it in, not like the DR one. Not looking forward to it really, but suppose once the first is out the way it will be ok.
@@Nmvasey, that's good news then. What meds are you taking? I'll be on 300 dose

Nmvasey · 31/12/2019 11:54

I know... feels a bit impersonal but basically people in each take generally need scans etc generally the same day so said they have to stagger people. The nurse said that the stims help balance you back out so should feel better than how you were on the down reg. I was generally OK, it’s just cosmetically I’m dropping to bits 🤣

Are most people having a quiet one tonight?

Nmvasey · 31/12/2019 12:07

@41trying That’s my schedule, I’m on the blue plan. I drop down to 0.2ml of buserelin and 225 of Meriofert.

LottSE20 · 31/12/2019 12:20

@nmvasey we’re to a friends house for dinner. I’m not looking forward to the sideways glances about me not drinking (esp as they’ll think it’s for a better reason).

I’m starting stimms this eve 😬 and next scan is Friday. I didn’t have down regs as I’m on the short protocol so they just base it on my period. I’m on 225 dose of menopur and then fyremadel from day 6 to prevent egg release.

Kellyprt1 · 31/12/2019 12:30

@BambiOnIce80 just been for my scan.
They don't do afc again. She said everything was quiet none were big enough to measure and that's what's expected. I am starting stims tomorrow
The needle looks slightly bigger on the pen BUT she said the needle is thinner meaning it goes in easier. I am 450 iu thinks that is quite high. Took about 15 mins to find my left ovary in sure that wand has moved all my organs Hmm haha

41trying · 31/12/2019 12:36

I'm glad they say we will feel better, mood wise I have been terrible.
Well I wish us all luck going into 2020 eith some good news

Kellyprt1 · 31/12/2019 12:38

@Nmvasey Hi I was ok on down regulation had to swap to injections was having nose bleeds on the nasal spray. Made me laugh about having a quiet one in.. For the first year ever we are staying in.. I can't drink.. I am trying to be relatively healthy and I am bloated.. I'm staying in with the dogs :) scan in 10 days to see if the stims are working.. This makes me so scared. Low amh plus clomid didn't even make me ovulate even on 150mg and I am 27. Hope everyone has a great new year

Meganlouise1988 · 31/12/2019 14:29

Hello

Would you mind if I joined? I am 31 and currently undergoing IVF (ICSI) due to MFI. I started buserelin on 6th December, had my bleed after 10 days and now I am on day 4 of stims now (started later due to clinic being shut for Christmas). I have been on 225g (3 vials) of meriofert and had my first blood test this morning, the clinic have just called and said I’m slightly under where they want me to be and want me to increase to 375 (5 vials) until next Monday. What does this mean? I was out shopping when she called and couldn’t ask everything I wanted to! Any advice would be appreciated as I’m really worrying that it means I’ll be a poor responder or not get any eggs!! I know I’m probably being irrational, I’m just finding the whole process incredibly stressful.

Congratulations to those who’ve had a BFP and baby dust to all those on their journeys, hopefully 2020 will bring lots of babies! Xxx

LottSE20 · 31/12/2019 15:16

@Meganlouise1988 welcome! I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice except that I think adjusting the drugs is completely normal - that’s why you have tests during the stimms so they can make sure you are responding as you need to. But if you are really worried, why don’t you give them a call back to put your mind at rest. Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Meganlouise1988 · 31/12/2019 15:35

@LottSE20 thank you! I think I will do, just to stop myself worrying! Xxx

Nmvasey · 31/12/2019 15:45

@meganlouise1988 I’d imagine everyone reacts differently and they have to increase/decrease people’s dosage accordingly, I’d try not to worry. Sounds like they’re intervening in good time to hopefully get your eggs to where they need to be in time for collection. Easier said than done not to worry : )

BambiOnIce80 · 31/12/2019 16:46

Really glad to hear everything has gone well with your scan too @Kellyprt1! 🤩

We'll definitely be staying in for a quiet one tonight 🛋️ There's massive fire works where we are and the kitten was less than impressed with the practice run last night 🙄 Plus, unless it's a party where I can take a bath, get my onesie on and collapse on the sofa and watch the new series of 'You' then I don't think I'd be interested at the moment! 😂

We've got some Erdinger low alcohol beer to try and make ourselves feel festive at least 🍻 Has anyone got any other low/0% alcohol recommendations?

Kellyprt1 · 31/12/2019 17:35

The new serious of 'you' omg I have to read for an hour after to wind down after I watch it.

Thank you and thank you for letting me join.

Have fun :)

Nmvasey · 31/12/2019 17:53

@BambiOnIce80 @kellyprt1 but how did he get the glass cage to LA? 🤣 now that’s what’s winding me up!

rainbow178 · 31/12/2019 17:56

@BambiOnIce80 I have some sparkling alcohol free 'Chenin blanc' and plan to drink it out of a wine glass- will let you know if it feels like alcohol! At least we all won't be worrying about hangovers in the morning- every cloud hey!?
@Meganlouise1988 - it's good they put your drugs up, they mustn't have seen as many follicles where the eggs 'grow' (I think that's it!?) so putting your drugs up will hopefully mean you will get more appearing and fingers crossed, more eggs.

I am on day 4 of down reg now and don't feel much different....hope it lasts!

Meganlouise1988 · 31/12/2019 18:12

@nmvasey I’m trying really hard to stay as calm as possible, it’s so hard!! I hope so! Provisional egg collection date is 10th so let’s hope that’s plenty of time to grow x

@rainbow178 I didn’t actually have a scan today which I thought was odd?! I won’t have my first scan to check growth until 6th Jan. I just had bloods so I’m guessing maybe a level of hormone isn’t high enough in my blood?! Are you on buserelin? I found downregging ok, I’ve had a few hot flushes the past few days but generally was ok! Are you just waiting for a bleed now?

rainbow178 · 31/12/2019 19:16

@Meganlouise1988 oh yeah, that is strange, I've always had scans, not bloods. Maybe though like you say they can tell from the blood tests. I would say it is definitely a positive they upped your drugs though.
Yeah, just on buserelin and waiting for the bleed, first scan booked for the 13th

41trying · 31/12/2019 20:36

First Stim injection down, they said jab so I did defo not very nice.
Different meds last time, they injection pen was so much easier.

Nmvasey · 31/12/2019 20:48

@42trying does it sting? Someone said it does. Woo hoo first one down. I’m just using the same needles as what I do for the buserelin so should just be the same for me, albeit more liquid

MissHoney85 · 31/12/2019 21:44

First menopur done, found it much harder to inject than the buserelin so not sure I did it right 🤔 hopefully practice will make perfect

41trying · 31/12/2019 21:52

@Nmvasey, a little after.
MissHoney85 same for me, I'm sure the first is the worse

rainbow178 · 31/12/2019 23:47

@MissHoney85 @Nmvasey I have found the buserelin injections a bit tricky- the needle just doesn't seem to want to go in without really pushing which is really weird to do! I remember the stims being easier but they do sting a bit more- but no more than 30 seconds.

The things we have to do.....

BambiOnIce80 · 01/01/2020 10:07

My jaw literally dropped when I saw the glass cage @Nmvasey @Kellyprt1! 😮😂 Think I'm going to have to suspend belief on how it magically appeared in LA though 😏

How was your booze free chenin blanc @rainbow178? 🍾🥂 We had the 'fizz zero' from M&S at Christmas and it was perfectly pleasant, but did I believe I was drinking prosecco? Sadly, no 😒 Think I might try one of the alcohol free 'gins' next - there's quite a few about now 🍸

Sorry to hear that the stims injections aren't too pleasant @41trying @MissHoney85 💐 I still hope I'll be joining you soon though! 😄

Well, happy new year ladies! 🥳🥳🥳 It's a little bit crazy to think 2020 is going to be a major year for us all, no matter how this cycle turns out 🍀🔮🍀🔮

Minster2012 · 01/01/2020 11:33

Happy new year ladies!

If you want a drink that tastes decent then I’d recommend the Prosecco from drydrinker.com, the postage charges are hefty though as is the actual price but it is nice. We’ve had quite a lot and had it at baby showers too. We had quite a raucous night Grinsorry to those that didn’t, mind you last year I didn’t I was literally on my tod downstairs whilst OH was upstairs in bed having gone out the day /night before
