Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Morning, how are you feeling @LucyLucyT? any signs?

LucyLucyT · 08/07/2020 14:23

Hey @fool11 no signs yet, I had a few period cramps after the attempted sweep but that's mostly settled again now. Had a bit of blood but that's also stopped, no sign of a "show" as such yet.
Yours is tomorrow isn't it? Good luck, I was quite nervous about it but it wasn't that bad in the end.

fool11 · 08/07/2020 14:53

Hope it will work for you..are you planning to have another one before your induction?

I have my next Thursday, i'm still working - friday is my last day...can't wait, so tired, and big and uncomfortable..

LucyLucyT · 09/07/2020 00:45

Ahh, I don't know how to are still working! I'm so glad not to be now, I'm often needing an afternoon nap hehe.

I have to text my midwife tomorrow PM to make a decision to try again Friday or not. I'm fairly keen to try but have a feeling it might not be any good still!

afternoon nap sounds like a dream but no chance..working till 5pm and then my 5y old waiting to play with her..2more days, can't wait to stop working. Had a rough night, been up for the most of the night, just couldn't sleep, was uncomfortable and also my brain couldn't stop thinking about next week..sweep, induction, possible instrumental deliver, which i def dont want etc etc..anxiety i guess..
I'm gonna have my sweep next thursday and then on monday if it doesn't work..trying to avoid the induction..if you go for induction, is it going to be pessaries, gel or balloon? did they tell you? If i have to be induced, i don't want them to be trying for days, that's worse than planned c section, i think, as longer it takes apparently higher risk of emergency c section..which i think might be worse than planned one..just can't wait to have the little one out now..

fool11 · 10/07/2020 11:16

How are you @LucyLucyT? are you going for another sweep?

How are you@41trying? hope all is well..when is your 20w scan?

41trying · 10/07/2020 16:31

Hi guys,
Glad to hear you both are well and getting so close now.
I am all good, scan in 2 weeks I think its gone pretty quick considering doing nothing in lockdown.

LucyLucyT · 10/07/2020 19:48

Glad things are going well @41trying, not long then until you get to see your little one again!

I feel for you @fool11, work is all done now though at least!

I had another attempt at sweep this morning and it was more successful this time, so will see now if it does anything, just been for a long walk and been ball bouncing. I'm getting a few aches but nothing dramatic yet. Got another sweep booked for Sunday morning as one last attempt to avoid full induction!
My induction will be with pessaries, may have one or two. Then the next day will be examined to see if they can break waters, that's when my partner can join me. Then once waters broken I get a couple of hours to see if things get going, if not then they'll set up the drip. I really hope things get going, I want to avoid too much intervention if possible but guess I'll just have to wait and see! xx

fool11 · 10/07/2020 20:15

Glad to hear you are well @41trying..it will be nice to see the little one again..will you be finding out if it’s a boy or a girl?

Hope things will get moving for you @LucyLucyT. Agree with you, want to avoid induction if I can too..consultant mentioned during last scan it would be similar to your plan..pessaries, maybe breaking waters, then wait and hope contractions will kick in if not drip..not keen on drip and want to avoid instrumental delivery at all cost..first consultant said balloon induction by last one said pessaries so not sure..seeing them after sweep so will need to check.
Finished my work today..so happy.
Keep us posted @LucylucyT..hope this last sweep will work..

fool11 · 13/07/2020 09:05

Morning, is it your induction day @LucyLucyT? Hope all goes well and you will have your little one in your arms soon xx

LucyLucyT · 13/07/2020 23:41

Hey, had my pessary at midday. For the last 3 hours I've been getting fairly regular tightenings which is to be expected apparently, so that's good. They will examine me after 24 hours to see if I'm dilated enough to break waters. Trying to see if I can sleep with these tightenings now! Will keep you posted tmrw if I can :-)
Hope you are both okay xx

fool11 · 14/07/2020 08:16

Hope you managed to get some sleep @LucyLucyT...and that the pessaries worked and they can break your waters..how are yuh feeling? It’s so exciting it’s happening, hopefully it won’t take too long. Did they tell you what was your Bishop score for induction?

LucyLucyT · 14/07/2020 10:50

I didn't get much sleep really, going to see if I can have a brief nap now before the examine me at about midday.
I'm hoping all the tightenings have done something but also preparing myself for needing a second pessary. Sounds like delivery suite is full at the moment anyway so they probably won't break my waters until they have space, a lady opposite me is already waiting for a bed.
Tightenings not as frequent at the moment but so far managing okay. Had some co-codamol in the early hours but not had anything so far today.
I think my bishop score was discussed on Sunday by the midwife doing my sweep, it was 4 I think but it had never been mentioned until then! How are you doing?

fool11 · 14/07/2020 11:36

Hope things will move forward for you quickly..I hate this waiting around..will discuss on Thursday during sweep my options..if sweep doesn’t work really don’t want to be in hospital for days with induction..doc mentioned pessaries which should work within 6h..but if they don’t work kind of thinking if c section would be faster considering this is our last etc, we won’t have more kids ..but recovery is much longer which puts me off. Hope you will hear some good news at midday so they can break your waters..
Can you ask them to recheck your bishop score? Read here on mumsnet that If anything below 5 , high potential induction might not work..but obviously that’s just mums talking..you don’t know how your body will react, but they say 7 and higher is good for induction..Hope you are not on lots of pain..when can your partner join you?

LucyLucyT · 15/07/2020 06:40

Hey, first pessary hadn't done enough, so on my second one now. Had strong contractions last night which is to be expected with the pessary but they have mostly settled. Which meant I got a bit of sleep compared to the night before. Everyone around me is moving on to the delivery suite! Oh well. The midwife thinks they'll still do their best to break my waters today.

fool11 · 15/07/2020 07:35

Morning @LucyLucyT..hope the second one will work so they can brake your waters and hopefully that will speed up the things..what’s their plan if it doesn’t or if they can’t brake waters? A drip?

fool11 · 15/07/2020 22:03

Are you ok @LucyLucyT? Any sign of the baby? Hope all is ok x

LucyLucyT · 16/07/2020 16:46

I have been ready to have membranes ruptured since yesterday but the delivery suite has been manic and although I've been top of the list since yesterday I still haven't got a bed and about 8 women have ended up progressing and going in before me. I'm absolutely exhausted already from a lack of sleep and every time I think I'm close to getting a bed someone else comes in and nabs it. I'm getting so upset now. My partner has been staying on the grounds all day yesterday and today and we're both fed up. He can only come in for an hour's visit a day so I spend most of my day outside with him just pottering about waiting.

fool11 · 16/07/2020 20:10

Omg @LucyLucyT..that’s terrible, I can’t believe they are making you wait so long..that’s just not right. You must be exhausted and your partner too, must be hard for him waiting in the car park..is that hospital where you normally work? Is it far from where you live? Could he wait at home and get to hospital quickly if needed?
I had my sweep this afternoon and surprr ET is of I’m 3.5 dilated, head in pelvis, soft cervix etc so induction is out of question, midwife thinks it might happen soon, booked me for another sweep on Monday day but she thinks it will happen before..she said membrane is swollen she Could prob pop it with her fingers..so I had a bit shock that it’s actually might be happening soon. Kind of glad can’t have induction, only waters broken if they don’t naturally by Wednesday.

I really hope they will get things going for you soon..can you complain to someone?

shazzz1xx · 16/07/2020 22:05

fool11 · 18/07/2020 07:02

How are you doing @LucyLucyT? Hope you have your baby in your arms now xx

fool11 · 19/07/2020 07:15

Our baby boy was born 2h ago..I’m still running on adrenalin..awful labour..woke up with contractions 7min apart at 2am, WithIn 30min they were 2-3min apart, at 4am at hospital told me I’m 4cm to go for a walk hoping my waters would break, got to the door and couldn’t walk, they checked again I was 5cm, called for epidural guy, went from 5 to 10cm in 1min and he was born few min later..absolutely shattered, but he is wonderful,.not going to forget the pain but glad it’s over..hope u r well @LucyLucyT x

41trying · 19/07/2020 10:38

Hi @Fool11, congratulations! Sorry to hear about the pain, but sounds like it was quick.
Glad to hear all is well. Get some rest.
@LucyLucyt, I hope your well and have had your little one as well. Let us know when you can

LucyLucyT · 19/07/2020 22:45

Hey @shazzz1xx @fool11 @41trying well yes I also have news! I just got home this afternoon from hospital with a.....girl!
She's lovely, we are still deciding on a name hehe. She was 6lb13. Unfortunately labour didn't go much to plan, ended up having an emergency cesarean section under General anesthesia. I was going to have an epidural but as they got it ready they got concerned about he babies trace. The oxytocin drip was making the contractions too close together for me to cope with. Overall a week in hospital because of the delay with induction! Long, emotional story but we are all home and safe now 😊. I will recover but definitely feel like I've been hit by a bus hehem

Wow wow wow @fool11 what amazing news, so many congratulations! Doesn't sound fun but bet you did really well xx
