@squirrelnutkins1 7 weeks isn't awful, but I think I'd call up too, saves the worrying for that long if nothing else

Welcome back @greyC 🙂 how are you finding your meds so far?

@finallytakingtheplungewithivf Thanks, yes looks like you're right about zika, but by my very vague estimation the best I can hope for is a 2 month old which I could fly with but not sure I'd want to, or still on treatment which may get postponed by going there.... I'm hedging my bets and just waiting yo see what happens I think

@2fingers22018 sorry about work, I know how you feel, my work has just told us we have to download an app on our personal phones so they can contact us and also monitor whether we are using it to communicate, makes me so mad when it's my own personal time 🤬 don't they legally have to let you attend appoi tments?

Our clinic called DH to move his sperm test by half an hour, I was so impressed that the message they left didn't mention the clinic or ivf or anything, presumably in case someone heard it that you didn't want knowing... I just thought that was a nice touch lol

veeboo · 28/08/2019 11:28

Good luck @squirrelnutkins and @GreyC. Stay away from the horror stories! It's so hard. I've also been googling dreadful stats about missed miscarriages.
@2fingers22018 sorry about your work. Are they saying you can't go?
Welcome newbies. Hope everyone okay.

veeboo · 28/08/2019 11:31

@CloudSway we did the same re the holiday. Just left it as long as poss and now I cant go for a lovely reason and all being well DP can go alone. We've told the groom now (DP's mate) and he is fine. It helped though that we didn't have to pay anything yet. It does feel like missing out but at least the NHS says no so they can't argue with that.

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/08/2019 12:10

@CloudSway
yeah 7 isn't bad at all, I just want it in place in case we're unsuccessful again rather than waiting 4 weeks til my next af then 7 weeks on top of that if that makes sense. I phoned up and she said she'd get my notes and call me back.

@squirrelnutkins1 nothing that exciting lol! I’m an accountant but have moved out of what I normally do to have ago at something else (still in accounts) and broaden my horizons a bit! I wasn’t at my old place very long (wasn’t what I thought it was and was very bored) so not really lol! Oh wow well might aswell get it booked in but hopefully you won’t need it!!

@CloudSway I get what your saying about flying with a small baby we are in talks of planing a massive family holiday abroad next year as we have two big birthdays and if this cycle works then I might have a 6-8 week old so it’s all in the air as one of the big birthdays is my dh and I’ve already had to say no to what he originally wanted to do just in case but I guess we will see!

Hope everyone else is ok? Xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/08/2019 20:23

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
ah, I'm glad you're gonna be doing something you like and will challenge you 👍🏻 how'd it go today?

The clinic phoned back with an appt for mid sept. I'll be in the tww at the appt but it'll be good to make a plan 👍🏻 xx

@squirrelnutkins1 thanks fingers crossed I’ve been unsettled with jobs for a while would be nice to get stuck in and settle! Yeah it went ok Smile

Oh wow not to long then and yes will definitely be good to have a plan in place if you need it!

Things are really moving forward for everyone! I’m so pleased!! I start meds’ a week tomorrow kind of wishing it to hurry up now!

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/08/2019 21:04

I hope you settle too 😊 @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

I'm trying soooo hard not to get stressed. Honestly everything on the most stressful things in life list is going on for us at the moment so I know that's not going to help with conception so I just have to keep breathing and calming myself!

Thanks guys; I’m not swaying from this thread as it really brightens my anxieties to read other threads for some reason!
@CloudSway @squirrelnutkins1

Feeling ok to be honest; day 7 today on buserelin. Have been getting period type pains the last couple days so hopefully my period will be coming soon to keep on plan with everything.
So far I’ve only really felt really bloated and have a sore tummy from injecting myself as I tend to get a small reaction at the site of the injection. I feel lucky to be honest; but I have been drinking a lot every day so I feel that’s been helping.

@squirrelnutkins1 sounds like positive steps to have in place but good luck with your last cycle!
@CloudSway where abouts are you with the clinic now? Is it IVF you are gearing up for?
@2fingers22018 hope you are doing ok and should be starting soon?! My boss (male) has two children from ivf so has actually
Been fantastic. So much so we have two pregnant ladies at work announced this week and he actually came to check I was doing ok afterwards; which I felt was a nice touch to be honest and he has helped ease my work load for the next 6 weeks! I am extremely lucky I know that considering I was terrified of telling him about it.

@finallytakingtheplunge I’m glad you had a nice holiday and enjoying your new job! Soon for your next transfer too!
@veeboo Googling is the worst thing - it scared me so much!

Sorry if I missed anyone! Hope everyone is ok X l

2fingers22018 · 29/08/2019 12:13

@CloudsSway thats gd that they were discreet i looked into it and the crazy thing is legally if u get an awkward employer theres not much you can do i was shocked. All the protection and time off seems to b geared towards ppl adopting i cant get my head around it, i get they cant afford to pay ppl for time off but its obvs essential to go to these appts. Its just more unneeded stress! Ive been feeling quite numb the past few days and just not myself i think its all getting a bit too much atm feel like my brains tryin to switch off for my own sanity. Hows the house clearing going? @squirrelnutkins1 sorry uve got alot goin on it just adds to all this doesnt it? Ive got bloods on monday then a scan coming up, once af arrives i think thats me finally starting meds glad u got a date set in place its something to work towards hope ur ok x @GreyC glad to see u bak ur boss sounds soo nice! That def helps.. gd uve not had a lot of side effects soo far how are u feelin in urself are you gettin excited for the end?

GreyC · 29/08/2019 18:18

@2fingers22018 I was surprised as he is a work horse and expects a lot of us!
I’m feeling ok; I’m feeling positive etc etc and then this little voice says however... and then I get upset as it’s a long old process as you know well.
I’m waiting for my period to arrive now then got a scan to start stimulating my follicles! Are you on down regulation drugs?

VenusStarr · 30/08/2019 16:30

Thank for thinking of me guys 💜 absolutely heartbroken again 💔 only measuring 5 weeks, no heartbeat, I'm 7 weeks from lmp and I know when I ovulated. Its almost exactly the same as last time. There has been growth of a foetal pole but 8 days since my last scan, it doesn't seem like this pregnancy will progress. Just waiting for the miscarriage to start.

It's my birthday today as well 😢 just can't believe it's happening again. I don't understand what I've done wrong 💔😢 xx

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 30/08/2019 17:44

@VenusStarr I’m so sorry to read Yiur update! Are you sure you didn’t ovulate later? Have they confirmed that it’s not progressing or have you got to go back for another scan?
You haven’t done anything wrong! Sending big hugs be kind to your self xxx

2fingers22018 · 30/08/2019 18:01

@VenusStarr im soo sorry to hear that hun i wish i could reach through and give u a hug. Its not your fault none of this is your fault its cruel and its bloody unfair xx

2fingers22018 · 30/08/2019 18:14

@GreyC no medication yet bloods monday then scan just before af then finally start meds on cd3 i think they saidHmm

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 30/08/2019 18:16

@2fingers2018 oooh not long till scan then!! When’s af due? I’m sure you’ve said!

squirrelnutkins1 · 30/08/2019 18:19

veeboo · 30/08/2019 18:20

Oh @VenusStarr I am so sorry to read this. You have not done anything wrong. Sending hugs x

GreyC · 30/08/2019 18:54

I’m so sorry; ditto others you haven’t done anything wrong ❤️

CloudSway · 31/08/2019 07:53

@venusstarr I'm so sorry to hear this. It's not fair. Please be as pissed off at the world as you like, but be kind to yourself, you didn't cause any of this. Thinking of you xxx

VenusStarr · 31/08/2019 08:48

Thank you @CloudSway, I am really angry, at everyone, at the baby 😢 at myself but your message made me cry.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I was tracking this cycle and ovulated on cd10, so should be 7+5 now but 7+1 by lmp. Got to go back in 2 weeks to see what's happening. Dh asked if it could just be a slow developing pregnancy but the nurse wouldn't be drawn into a discussion on that. In my heart I know it's over. Just hoping it starts soon, I don't want medical or surgical treatment.

Thank you @veeboo @2fingers22018 @GreyC it feels very cruel and just like history is repeating itself, it's almost exactly the same as last time. The horrible thing is I know we won't get any answers as to why this has happened.

Has anyone had the amh test? The consultant suggested we could pay for this but as we're were just starting out in May we thought it would be more helpful if we were going down the ivf route. But now I'll have had 2 mmcs Im wondering if its actually my eggs that are dud and causing this. Does the amh tell you about quality too?

@squirrelnutkins1 thank you, hope you're OK ❤️❤️ xxx

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 31/08/2019 09:12

@venusStarr that is such a long wait for you!! I’m so sorry! I haven’t had that test done so can’t help you on that one sorry xxx

BambiOnIce80 · 01/09/2019 08:44

From what I understand @VenusStarr the AMH tells us more about egg reserve than quality, which is why we have to have it done pre-IVF - to give the docs an idea of how we're going to respond to the drugs. I know someone in IRL who was late 20's and had an AMH of 3. She's had 3 rounds of IVF, had between 2 & 3 eggs retrieved each time (which luckily fertilised and turned into viable embryos) and got her BFP on her final round. She's due in a couple of months. So I guess what I'm getting at is that a low AMH doesn't mean poor quality eggs, if that makes sense?x

Sorry I've not been keeping up ladies - it's been FW here and it's taken all our stamina to slog through it! Does anyone else who's on the run up to IVF feel the same way? Like, you know your flipping unlikely to get pregnant naturally after all this time, but you feel like you've got to be 'in it to win it', so it feels like a missed opportunity if we don't try? Is it awful that I'm quite looking forward to the sex ban during treatment?! Can't wait to step away from the OPK's and put the thermometer down! 🌡️🚫

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.x

GreyC · 01/09/2019 12:32

BambiOnIce; in on down regulation at the minute and I love the whole ban/use a barrier method of birth control. 100% feels less stressful even with the ivf.

veeboo · 01/09/2019 18:38

Hi @VenusStarr I understood the same as @BambiOnIce. I think AMH indicates reserve. All women have a proportion of low quality eggs so if reserve is low the concern is that quality may also be poor. My friend is currently at the Zitawest clinic and they told her this. She is 37. So she is taking supplements. There are some which are shown to help quality. Coq10/ubiquinol is one to look at. I took this. I have mentioned before but I'd recommend the book it starts with the egg as it is all about egg quality. The 2nd edition talks about just making the changes you can and not driving yourself mad. How are you feeling?

Good luck everyone for this week. all moving forward for you @GreyC!
