New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@AliceAbsolum it must be so hard as it gets closer to OTD-unfortunately I have no words of wisdom but hang on in there.

Hysteroscopy went fine thanks -they couldn’t find the polyp anymore it must have gone down on its own but they also gave me an endometrial scratch and said the cavity looks good. Pleased that hurdle is done and now I can focus on the FET.

Feel pretty tired, nauseous and crampy but on sofa and making my DH wait on me hand and foot! Just sent him out for cookies and donuts! The nurse told me to relax tonight and eat chocolate! I will follow her instructions!

Second morning urine on an Internet cheapie this morning. Whyyyyy? Utterly pointless. If someone could sedate me til Wednesday that would be great.

Ladies, I’ve woken up this morning almost convinced I’m going to go to the loo and see af is here. I darent go! I was cramping yesterday and TMI but I had the worst farts I’ve ever had in my life 😄🙈 I get really gassy before AF and to be having period pain today I just feel so sad. My boobs no longer hurt either, I’m certain she will show. Can she make an appearance whilst still on pessaries?! I don’t want to get up 😞

@aliceabsolum how did that test go? Lol “if someone could sedated me till Wednesday that’d be great” that made me chuckle 😂 you got this gal!

I meant to say I’ve been up on and off since early hours with period pain but I was chuckling too much about the farts. So yes, that too 😄

@hopingforbabyd - I got my period 4 days before official test day. I have saved this into my phone for my follow up consultation and next time as I read this in a paper online. so it can come even on pessaries however hopefully it’s not for you and is just a cramp that feels similar.

“If you get a period in less than 12 days after your embryo transfer in spite of your medications, you should request your doctor to test your progesterone levels 3 days after your embryo transfer in your next IVF cycle. If these are low, then he may want to change the way he is giving you progesterone by using an alternative route (by switching from vaginal progesterone to IM progesterone or vice versa)

Sorry you're having a time of it @hopingforbabyd progestogen makes people gassy. I'm on lactulose still after EC and that's makes me windy.
Nurse told me pessaries can hold off AF but also AF can override them, so.

I think I've got a mild stomach bug, not thrown up but got all the other symptoms. Having a simple food day.
I'll be 13dpo tomorrow, might treat myself with a piss on a stick 🙄

@annasteen @aliceabsolum thanks ladies. I only had ET on Wednesday so only 3dp5dt I’m just hoping my body isn’t already getting set for AF and not giving my little blast a chance. I’ve had such strong feelings all throughout my ivf cycle maybe because it’s my first and I’m a little naive and now the doubt is creeping back in. I hate the tww it brings back lots of horrible memories and symptom spotting! Urgh!! Sadly I think I’m having one of those days today 😩 Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon Alice 💐 x

@Hopingforbabyd you're right in the thick of when implantation would be happening. 2dp5dt I got really sharp cramps, then had a dull heavy feeling for the rest of the week. Turned out to be a good sign for me so keeping my fingers crossed for you!xx

@Twiglet2353 If 100% is a half decent line and a stark white bfn is 0% is was about 0.2%. An incredibly faint evap you might say that 99% of the population wouldn't see.
I'm not a fan of 2ndmu either, none of the good stuff is left in that, it's the cup of tea I drank 30min ago.

@AliceAbsolum and @Hopingforbabyd really thinking of you both. Hope the next days pass as quickly as they can.

Feeling a bit down this end -think tiredness from yesterday and maybe all the drugs and the norethisterone. Met friends for lunch who are lovely and so sensitive but two are pregnant and the other with a baby -it’s just really hard sometimes isn’t it. I’m having one of those sensitive sad days. I need to get myself back into positive mode for the upcoming cycle.

@mouse1234567 thinking of you, it really is hard to be around people expecting babies especially your friends. But just remember this will be you very very soon, this is your time now and I’m certain your friends as well as us ladies are all behind you x

Ha ha ha I always say I'll hold a wee and then 2 later I'm like, stuff this 🙄 Very intolerant of that feeling.
DH is home in a min, going to cook and watch a movie, I'll hold out til tomorrow morning now.
I just looked at the hospital test and it's 26miu! Aren't FRERs 15? It says in the packaging and the info leaflet "home tests won't be accurate" bullshit! More accurate than that ridiculous cassette from the 1980s.

Rang a private clinic today for a hcg, they couldn't fit me in til Monday so I didn't bother 🙄 If I ever do this again though I am 100% going to book a beta in advance.

@mouse1234567 That must have been so hard, it's so difficult when it's in your face so to speak, even when the people are sensitive. Feels very unfair when your peer group are "managing" a rite of passage that you have no control over. I really hope you get to join them soon
