IVF abroad

Hi all,

There was a lovely thread for all ladies trying IVF abroad. Anyone has any plans yet?
We are planning to go to Reprofit in Czech in April. Actually going there this March for some tests. DH was prescribed DNA fragmentation test by Mr Ramsey, can you imagine flights to Czech, hotel for 3 nights, parking in London for 4 days and DNA fragmentation test turns out cheaper than doing this test here in the UK on its own. I think it's good for us to see the clinic before we start too. Anyone is planning their cycle abroad? How do you find it?

Fantastic news @Viletta and GOOD LUCK for ET tomorrow.

When do you fly back?

Back to normal routine tomorrow, back to work! Looking forward to spending the long weekend at home, been a tiring few days and missed my bed!

i am a bit homesick today. I thought it was a GREAT idea to come to a spa before FET but i really miss my husband and my cat today and feel a bit lonely. Lovely massage and scrub treatment and now off for a wee nap. Keeping everything crossed for everyone here. x

@twinkledag - he flies in on Thursday. It was actually my stupid idea - as he was on a training course ( he is a sculptor) i thought - oh i could go for a little holiday on my own.

but actually it isnt that fun on my own and i cry a lot. Lots of friends and my step mum helping though. And you ladies too!

Sending you 💐. Keep your chin up girl.

I have good news: 5 embryos have turned into 6! One was a slow goer but progressed over the weekend so we now have 6 that are at the suitable stage for Day 3. 🙂

@twinkledag fantastic news! Let them develop nicely! I've got one in now and one on ice. 3 more are a bit slow we'll see if they are suitable for freezing tomorrow. The weather is great. I've been walking after ET as per new research recommending not to stay in bed. Not overdoing it though and back to healthy eating.

Hello! Am so happy to have found this thread. Am looking into DE IVF and have narrowed it down to 3 clinics - Serum and New Life, both in Greece and Gennet in Prague. Would be really grateful for any experience/views in any of them. Many thanks. X

My son is from Serum Athens, had 4 cycles in the UK OE and DE then tried Serum for one last shot, still have 2 frozen blasts there too. I can't fault them we had a great experience, so much cheaper than the uk, great communication, we got an air B n B in Nea Smirni which is a little further out but we only went to the clinic 3 times so wasn't too bad

@Massie24 from memory the donor had her first scan on CD6 and they said she was a quick responder, she was scanned on CD8 and we flew out CD9, her egg collection was CD10, we stayed out for 9 days in total as long enough for a blast transfer and then a couple of days afterwards, we used a really good driver whilst we there called Kyriakos too who drove us everywhere and waited for us on ET day

@Massie24 - I'm with Reprofit in Czech Republic now. I wanted to do PGS testing and Serum don't offer that.

Lovely people at the clinic though and the kebab shop at the corner of their street was divine!

I've got one morula caught up on day 6, so 2 embryos on ice now in Reprofit. I found them really great and Brno is a lovely inexpensive town.

@twinkldag all the best of luck, @Viletta thank you for sharing that,@justjuggling how far are you on your research have you made any contact yet with those clinic?

@massie24 I’ve spoken to several clinics and have narrowed it down to those based on those communications. I just have a nice feeling about New Life, and I know the success rates are good etc but am wondering if you can base such a big decision on a ‘feeling’?!

@justjuggling I think it's fine to trust your intuition. When I chose my clinic, I checked success rate, reviews, price of treatment and price of the traveling. I narrowed it down to Reprofit inBrno and IVI in Bilbao. Contacted both, communication was great with both, but Reprofit was easier as they didn't need me to come for a check-up or initial consultation. Good luck! Greece is a lovely place, it'll be like a holiday:)

@justjuggling, sometimes we just have to going with our gut feeling in this journey, but at the end we all hop that we get our dream baby no matter how,if you have any treatment before and it failed my advice would be to get more investigation before any further treatment,I went to Serum after I have had 3xcycle in the NHS 2 failed one missed miscarriage, must recent was October 2018, so I decided to do some research then contact Serum I started some investigations, first I sent my period blood and I was found that I have some infection do both me and my husband were giving some antibiotics, when that finished we both went to Athens in January 2019 he had Dna fragmentation test all come back clear, I did a hysteroscope I was found that I had a lot of scarr tissue which is in possible for me to get pregnant as there is no blood flow in the uterus, I did I Chicago test it was found that I had a clothing factor which means that I will not to be able to stay pregnant without claxane of blood thinners, all this I didn't know because I had never had any investigation. So at this moment I am very pleased with serum .

I agree, fertility guidelines in the UK are rubbish even if you go private. We have severe male factor and they didn't offer anything at all for DH in the UK. Even counseling was for me not for him! We went to Mr Ramsay who suggested further tests and nutritionist. In the end our results got much better. Definitely worth doing

Feeling gutted today 😢. Only one embryo is suitable to be frozen and tested.
