Hi all,

There was a lovely thread for all ladies trying IVF abroad. Anyone has any plans yet?
We are planning to go to Reprofit in Czech in April. Actually going there this March for some tests. DH was prescribed DNA fragmentation test by Mr Ramsey, can you imagine flights to Czech, hotel for 3 nights, parking in London for 4 days and DNA fragmentation test turns out cheaper than doing this test here in the UK on its own. I think it's good for us to see the clinic before we start too. Anyone is planning their cycle abroad? How do you find it?

What's DNA fragmentation @Viletta?

@mumsey2be as far as I understand, not all spermatozoon have healthy full dna in them, normally 20-30-% of spermatozoids have damaged dna. Men with fewer sperm count normally have higher % of damaged dna and might be offered additional procedures to ensure only good dna spermatozoid is chosen for icsi.

Hi all,

Got 9 eggs, all fertilized. So far all goes well. Having Picsi and Macs really made a difference!

@twinkledag egg collection went well, they've got big room for you to rest in, husband and children are allowed. Once you are in surgery, they put caterer in and get you anesthesia straight away without really saying anything:) came a bit as a surprise, I just closed my eyes and slept for maybe 15 minutes, had good dreams under it. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow!

I may ask for PICSI and MACS too - last go so may as well throw everything at it!

Are you having PGS or transferring in 5 days?

@twinkledag hopefully transfer on day 5. Last time in the UK we had to transfer on day 3. Not doing pgs. Ask about Picsi / macs. They offered these diagnostics to us when our dna fragmentation showed 40%. Last time we had 7 eggs and only 3 fertilized. I feel like this time we are doing much better!

Our DNA fragmentation isn't high so perhaps we don't need PICSI and MACS - I'll ask them.

@twinkledag are you doing IVF or icsi? Good that your sperms are fit! How does pgs go? When do they test the little ones and what happens after?

I'm doing ICSI.

They will test the embryos, we get the results in about 3 weeks then we'll do a FET. Fingers crossed we have some to transfer 🤞

@twinkledag fingers crossed! By then you'd recover from the meds, fet normally has better success rates! Good luck!

@mumsey2be yep keeping busy exploring Czech, my family comes over for holiday soon to keep us busy. Trying not to be fixated on the results:)

I am off from Graz inAustria to my Ayurvedic spa in Slovenia - bliss - i can really do with the rest and time off. Gone up to 6 estrofem today as i had a scan yesterday that showed my lining was a bit thin - nearly burst into tears. I dont remember having a lining problem before. But the nice doctor did say i had a healthy uterus and was relatively upbeat. Off for a run to explore the town before getting on my third train this week!

@mumsey2be spa sounds amazing! Hopefully the lining gets thicker soon. Relax and enjoy the spa and the traveling.

@twinkledag good luck for today! How are you feeling? I'm eating so much Czeck bakery I dread stepping on the scales.. oops

Haha @Viletta, I'm finding it impossible to be healthy too!

I had egg collection yesterday. 7 collected. No news on the portal today on their development, is that normal? Thinking it might be because it's the weekend?

@twinkledag good number! Congratulations!! I'm waiting for my 3 day update today as well and so far nothing.. I think they should update us at some point in the evening, they should have duty doctors on weekends and they also do ec and et on the weekends if needed so there must be someone

@twinkledag right after the ec I've been told I've got 9 eggs, 8 seem mature. I got my report the next morning at 11am saying all eggs were fertilized, 7 have 2 nucleus but all 9 are suitable so far. I've just emailed their info regular email asking if there will be any update today. Will let you know.

@twinkledg nd @viletta - nervwrecking or what!!! Sounding good on the numbers - how's the weather there?

@cutesbabasmama thank you - this is what i need to hear! I have been upped to 10mg estrofem and about to start the pessaries on monday i think. so hopefully these three days of extra pills will be enough. tempted to be a bit cheeky and hold off on the progesterone as once oyu pop it in the lining stops thickening i think. I need to try and find somewhere to give em a scan monday. So on a mission!

Right off for a massage and a splash!

Do you still have 9?

I'm back in England now - can't wait to get into my own bed!

@twinkledag 5 fertilized? Good percentage! I now have 7 out of 9 that progress. Looking forward to the update and ET tomorrow. Have a rest back home, make a wish that all works well and let it go, try to switch back to routine and not think about it much while it's just a waiting game.
