Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

Thanks everyone.

@wearenotacodfish I was on max dose this time but didn’t have the pill beforehand. In to see the consultant on Monday, so will see what he suggests then. Thank you for your kind words.

Had a few tears today, but I’m due tomorrow will be a better day

Best of luck tomorrow @Twiglet2353 Smile

DaisyMay25 · 22/03/2019 19:35

@Twiglet2353 good luck for tomorrow!

@WhatWouldPennyDo I'm sorry for your bad news. Hopefully they have a plan of action for you on Monday.

Hopingforbabyd · 22/03/2019 19:50

@phreedam hoping you are okay I can imagine you’re feeling really disheartened but don’t lose hope. My birthday is 15th April and that to me is a great day so don’t lose the faith 😉

@whatwouldpennydo so sorry to hear your cycle has been cancelled same as phreedam I am sending you lots of love and positive vibes for the next venture in your journey. It is a tough old journey but we won’t lose faith and all of us here will be rooting for you xx

Also ladies, today I was looking after a lady at work and she told me about her struggles to have a family - it’s the very first time I have ever completely felt comfortable to blurt out to a complete stranger that I too am struggling (it fell out my face like word vomit when she asked if I was planning a family) and I told her all about this wonderful thread. It was so nice to be able to speak about this as I have never met anyone in person who has experienced the same things. She had success finally after 4 tries she had severe endometriosis, fibroids, no tubes and just one ovary and it really warmed my heart to think despite all odds she got there eventually.
We’ve got this girls! 💪🏼❤️

@WhatWouldPennyDo I'm sure your consultant will have a plan. Sending lots of luck for Monday.

@Hopingforbabyd these boards are a great support to me because me and DH haven't told anyone about our journey. It's such a tough journey that I just can't face any questions about it and I also don't know anyone who has had IVF so even if I did speak to friends and family I don't think they would really get it like you ladies do.

Finished norethisterone on Wednesday and really need AF to show up before Monday so everything can run to plan - doesn't feel like she's on her way at the moment! Sad

Wesstywoo · 23/03/2019 08:43

Good luck with ET today @twiglet2353!

Twiglet2353 · 23/03/2019 09:34

Thanks for your well wishes everyone. We had 4 make it to blastocyst but unfortunately the top grade one was 3BC, so that's been transferred as planned, however we don't have any of high enough quality to freeze.
Feeling quite teary so you going to curl up and watch some crappy telly x

Wesstywoo · 23/03/2019 11:13

Don't be too disheartened @Twiglet2353 - grading really is just a guide, a 3BC still has every chance. All the best for your tww xx

Hopingforbabyd · 23/03/2019 16:47

@wesstywoo hoping af comes for you very soon! How long does it usually take when you stop taking norethisterone?

@twiglet2353 how are you feeling? So glad you were able to transfer your little bab. How does the grading work? What does the BC stand for? Hoping you are okay....you did it!! 😍 x

@Hopingforbabyd last time I also finished it on a Wednesday and AF turned up on Saturday (and it was v heavy and painful - I don't usually get painful periods) which is worrying me because there's still no cramping. I won't be able to have my baseline on Tuesday if it doesn't show up

Hopingforbabyd · 23/03/2019 17:33

@wesstywoo oh crickey! That doesn’t sounds nice at all. I suffer with bad period pains so I am not looking forward to the next one lol. Does that mean your cycle will be delayed or is there a possibility it can be cancelled?

OP posts:
Hopingforbabyd · 23/03/2019 17:34

Also @wesstywoo do you know why they put you on it? I have really regular cycles is it just so they can time it?

OP posts:
Wesstywoo · 23/03/2019 17:37

@Hopingforbabyd I think it will just be delayed, I'm doing FET so it's only 2 scans and ET to rearrange but I just want to get started! X

Wesstywoo · 23/03/2019 17:41

@Hopingforbabyd it's just so they can time it exactly, I think baseline needs to be within 4 days of the start of AF (or something like that) and then they can take control over the rest of your cycle with the medication

Chester6 · 24/03/2019 15:26

Hi guys, does anyone have their egg collection this week? I think mine is on Wednesday. Feeling quite nervous and not too sure if I should be doing anything in particular beforehand and also once I’m in the 2ww, i.e. eating anything in particular, resting or continuing to work etc. Does anyone have any tips? Wishing everyone else at similar stages so much luck X

sl85 · 24/03/2019 19:35

@Hopingforbabyd sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Been enjoying a weekend in Tenby! the overthinking is so hard to control isn't it?! Nothing is certain and I feel like there are a lot of unknowns so it's hard not to think about every possibly thing. I didn't get any pain from my tubes, painful periods on the first day but that's about it. Didn't discover the hydrosalpinx until I had the HSG. I'm
Hoping that now they're gone we will be good candidates for IVF 🤞🏼 did you say you have an appt this week? Mine is Thursday!

DaisyMay25 · 24/03/2019 19:52

Hi guys, quick question. I'm on buserelin and AF was due yesterday, I've had mild cramping but nothing yet. Has anyone else had a delay during the down regulation? I'm back on Thursday to start stims on Friday hopefully.

Thund4rcat · 24/03/2019 20:54

@Chester6 yes my egg collection is Tuesday so if it all goes well we will be 2ww buddies! I am continuing to work but I work from home most days on my laptop so it is very easy physically. Other than that I will just be taking it easy. I will continue to take pregnacare conception vitamins and stay hydrated but that's it. Last time I was just advised to carry on as normal.

How about you?

Sorka · 24/03/2019 23:13

Hello all. Late to the thread but thought I’d join in.

I’m on the long protocol and about 2 weeks into down regging. I’m stressed today as the side effects have stopped today, so now I’m paranoid my medication has either gotten too hot or too cold and isn’t working.

I haven’t told anyone in real life, so I’m very glad to have found you all.

DaisyMay25 · 24/03/2019 23:39

Hi @Sorka welcome! Did you AF come on time as normal whilst down regging? I think we're less than a week apart

Sorka · 24/03/2019 23:46

Thanks @daisymay25

It came around the time I expected. My cycle varies but is generally on the short side, so I started meds a couple of days earlier than ladies with average/longer cycles.

Are you long protocol too?

DaisyMay25 · 25/03/2019 00:24

@Sorka I'm usually shorter cycles too, I've been having cramps so hopefully it starts tomorrow. I am indeed, back on Thursday to see if I can start stims yet. When are you back for your next appointment?

Wesstywoo · 25/03/2019 08:43

Good luck with your EC this week @Chester6 and @Thund4rcat!

AF arrived so I'm all set for baseline tomorrow. Quitting caffeine from today (not that I usually have loads but do enjoy a Starbucks on the way to work!). Will also be drinking a pint of milk per day which I also did on my fresh cycle xx
