Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

@mouse1234567 yeh I had hoped I might be one of these miracle stories who conceived a 2nd child naturally too but when it came to it I couldn't face trying and hoping when the chances would be so slim so we went straight for a FET as luckily we have some frozen embryos. I didn't use any contraception after having my daughter on the off chance we might get a miracle bfp but no such luck!

@AnnaSteen I'm actually still off work on mat leave, part of the reason I wanted to get a transfer in before I go back was so that I didn't have to worry about work! Last time I went back the day after transfer but had the week of egg collection off as holiday.

Time seems to be going quick now I've started - got my next scan to check my lining tomorrow and then hopefully confirm ET for next week (currently scheduled on Thursday). Is anyone else having ET next week?

Feeling anxious about my embryo surviving the thaw

Brambles7 · 04/04/2019 08:46

@AnnaSteen oh the crying!! I can’t seem to stop once I’ve got started.

@Wesstywoo good luck to your embryo surviving the thaw & having a successful ET next week!

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 09:07

@Wesstywoo I won't be far behind you if EC is Monday ET should be Friday? So I shouldn't be that far behind you even if it's a little later than Monday. Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 09:30

@Twiglet2353 how you getting on? Resisting more testing?

Twiglet2353 · 04/04/2019 09:33

@DaisyMay25 did another one this morning. Not quite a dye steamer but much darker than the last. Official test day tomorrow - wonder how the clinics cheap test will compare with the frers x

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 09:41

@Twiglet2353 at least you know the result, how exciting!! My clinic do a blood test not a urine sample for some reason!

Twiglet2353 · 04/04/2019 10:12

@DaisyMay25 I'd rather have a blood test so I knew if it was a good number or not, but just trying to keep faith as the lines are getting darker.

Hope you're feeling ok x

Chester6 · 04/04/2019 13:58

Hi guys, how is everyone that had ET transfer yesterday feeling today? We’re one day closer to test day. 😊🤞. I am questioning everything I do though but really trying not to and just relax. I haven’t done much at all trying to rest although I did go for some acupuncture earlier.
Is anyone else on prednisolone steroids? I have been told to take them as part of my natural killer cell treatment so my body hopefully accepts my embryos. x

WorriedButterfly · 04/04/2019 14:20

I feel a bit down today, it's annoying as I've managed to be quite upbeat through the last two weeks.

I had a call this morning to say my other Embryo didn't make it to day 6 for freezing, I think this has made me worry about the one inside me.

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed 🤞🏼

Chester6 · 04/04/2019 14:36

I totally understand, it’s so so hard. But there is one in you and you might be pregnant right now :-). I’ve been doing Bree Taylor and also Zita West IVF meditations for after Embryo Transfer which are quite good if you want to try those. Have you been resting or are you continuing as normal?x

Thund4rcat · 04/04/2019 16:13

How am I only 4dp5dt? It feels like it's already been two weeks! Time is going sooo slowly :(

mouse1234567 · 04/04/2019 16:47

@Twiglet2353 glad the line are getting progressively darker!

@Chester6 and @WorriedButterfly @Thund4rcat the tww must be tough-fingers crosses for you all. Time goes so slow when you need it to pass quick!

I’m very excited as I got my period earlier -so three days after stopping the norethisterone -so strange being so excited about your period!! In tomorrow for my baseline scan -hopefully no cysts and stimms can start in a few days! When I have been scanned on day 1/2 beforefor IUI I have had to have another a few days later to wait for my lining the shed some more so hopefully that won’t happen tomo!

Brambles7 · 04/04/2019 16:54

The 2ww is going by soooo slowly! It feels like it should be nearly test day already.
It’s good to know it’s not just me struggling with it atm.

@Twiglet2353 glad to hear the lines are getting darker. Hoping for an even darker one tomorrow!

@mouse1234567 it must be the only time I’ve ever been so happy to get my period!

Wesstywoo · 04/04/2019 17:14

@DaisyMay25 yay glad to have a tww buddy! I think EC is day 0 so day 5 (ET) will actually be Saturday (that's how my clinic calculated it anyway - my EC was a Monday and transfer was Saturday). Good luck for your EC xx

AnnaSteen · 04/04/2019 17:23

@chester @worriedbutterfly @brambles7

I have been doing the circle and bloom program for IVF every day so I kept going with that. I find it really good so I’d recommend it for anyone starting a cycle.

Also got the call none of my other embryos got as far as freezing so it seems to have been a bum lot all over!

I asked the embryologist if she sees similar quality in repeat people and she said no that some people have top quality one round and then fair next round and vice versa. It depends on the specific follicles and the levels of stim given. She may have just been being nice ha!

I’m a bit different to you guys as I didn’t even get a blast to transfer in on day 5 - it was only on its way. So I’m just trying to carry on as normal.

Planning to start calorie counting tomorrow as I’ve gained weight and I’d like to be a stone lighter for next round so I’m going to eat as healthy as possible and get out for walks and plan our holiday for Easter so we are ready to book if/when we get bad news. My DH took it very badly though how bad our first round went so he needs a bit of attention too - i will focus on him this weekend!

How are your other halves doing?

Wesstywoo · 04/04/2019 17:32

@AnnaSteen yes, my clinic told us that only a third of cycles result in having embryos suitable to freeze (and I think that figure can vary slightly from clinic to clinic) so it's not unusual at all xx

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 17:45

@Wesstywoo that's interesting, I hope EC is on Monday then because if it's Tuesday Sunday is DH's (and BIL's) birthday! You can help me from going insane in the tww and not testing early!

I suffer from bad anxiety and I'm currently getting very worked up about EC. Gonna have to talk to the clinic about it I think.

Wesstywoo · 04/04/2019 17:54

@DaisyMay25 do you know how long your clinic will make you wait to test? Mine made me wait a full 14 days last time but the other ladies on the thread I was on only had to wait 10 days so I caved and tested early with them!

Sorry to hear you are feeling anxious about EC (I suffer too - mindfulness works wonders for me!). I didn't find EC bad at all - I had a sedative but was awake throughout and it was mildly uncomfortable but not at all painful. Have a word with your clinic but there will be nurses by your side throughout looking after and supporting you (if you are awake, I think most people sleep through!)

WorriedButterfly · 04/04/2019 18:09

Thanks for the recommendation @Chester6, I gave Bree ago and it has helped, I feel a bit more straight in my head. I worked from home just til 3 today, I've got another easy day tomorrow as well.

@AnnaSteen - keeping everything crossed for you too, go carefully on the calorie counting, be kind to yourself and remember you're probably still bloated - I know I am!

@DaisyMay25 please try not to worry about it, I was sedated and completely agree with @Wesstywoo's description, but I had to consciously 'let myself go' with the drugs instead of fighting it and remaining anxious - definitely tell the team on the day, they were loads more supportive than I was expecting. X

RedPandaFluff · 04/04/2019 18:27

Hi everyone - may I join you? This is my 4th donor egg cycle and if all goes to plan, I'll have embryo transfer on either Monday or Wednesday. I've always found this forum to be supportive during previous cycles - it's so good to talk to others going through the same thing - so I'd love to find some cycle buddies for the next couple of weeks!

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 19:03

@Wesstywoo mine say 15 days from egg collection, so that's 10 days after transfer I think. Thank you, I'll have a word anyway I think it's a heavy sedation but I'll let them know about my anxiety just in case I have a panic attack
Thanks @WorriedButterfly will let them know when I get there on the day. I was the same when I was put to sleep for my wisdom teeth so they were extra supportive. I guess it's just the unknown to me that panics me

Wesstywoo · 04/04/2019 19:04

Welcome @RedPandaFluff - I think I recognise you from a previous thread! I am due to have a frozen embryo transferred next week

wearenotacodfish · 04/04/2019 19:10

@DaisyMay25 I had a panic attack last time and they were wonderful they also give me anti sickness to make me feel less anxious. Let them know how you feel and I'm sure they will do everything they can to support you. I even get scheduled so I can have my favourite nurse now.

RedPandaFluff · 04/04/2019 19:16

Hi @Wesstywoo - yes, we've definitely been on the same thread before! Do you know which day you're having your transfer?
