Hi all, starting a new thread for those of us who are starting IVF treatment in February.

This will be my second round of ICSI, I start buserelin injections on 17th February. We have MFI (low sperm count) and after our first cycle ended in a chemical pregnancy, I demanded a laparoscopy because I have always had painful periods. The lap discovered I have mild endometriosis and mild adenomyosis but the surgeon said it was mild enough to not affect my fertility.

I am continuing with the NHS, doing a second fresh cycle. We have 3 frozen embryos from the first round as backup if this one doesn't work...

Would be good to have some cycle buddies to share support over the next couple of months...

@Ginandtonic31 Not long until its over, you'll be great. Let us know how it goes Flowers

Meownow9 · 01/03/2019 09:47

Thinking of you today @Ginandtonic31 x

Ginandtonic31 · 01/03/2019 11:38

Thank you everyone. Im out and off for breakfast! We got 27 eggs but I don’t think they will all be mature. We shall see! Slightly worried the quality won’t be there with so many but in the waiting game now

Russkispy · 01/03/2019 11:39

Just had my second scan and there are 4 more follicles on the left, to make the total of 14 altogether. Quite chuffed with myself as in December we only had 7. I know it's not about quantity but quality, but just want a back of at least 1 to freeze. The more the better really! Endometrium has thickened up nicely too. Last scan on Monday. In the meantime remaining calm and collected Smile

Meownow9 · 01/03/2019 12:00

@Ginandtonic31 27?! Wow, that's way better than last time 🙂 Hope that's helped to reassure you - even if they're not all mature at least you're starting off with a much bigger number this time. Enjoy your brekkie x

AliceAbsolum · 01/03/2019 12:40

@Ginandtonic31 27! Amazing. Glad it went well and you're recovering now.

Russkispy · 01/03/2019 12:52

@Ginandtonic31 great number! Hope there will be a good number of fertilised ones! Fingers crossed!

sweetsaltypopcorn · 01/03/2019 15:26

I had my transfer on Monday (day 5 blastocyst, graded 5Aa, and three frozen.)
Since then, I've been feeling so dizzy; not continuously, but every now and then, for a couple of seconds at a time. Had my blood pressure checked and that's normal, so it's not that causing the dizziness.
Does anyone have any experience of this, or can suggest what the problem might be? Confused

Russkispy · 01/03/2019 17:50

@sweetsaltypopcorn are you taking any progesterone pills? After every treatment I was taking progesterone and it made me feel dizzy but only for a short spell.

Evie8010 · 01/03/2019 18:55

Ginandtonic31fab result for your EC really positive!! Hope you're feeling ok. Were you sedated as a matter of interest? Hope you were able to enjoy London a bit! Soo happy it's Friday I feel great today though I went into the office instrad of working from home for the distraction!
@aliceabsolum you poor thing the waiting is unbearable really isn't it?
No idea @sweetandsalty though I have felt crampy until today

sweetsaltypopcorn · 01/03/2019 19:08

@Russkispy I'm on progesterone pills and pessaries, and have estrogen gel and patches. Could quite possibly be that, then - thanks

Ginandtonic31 · 01/03/2019 19:08

@Evie8010 I was sedated yes so a nice little sleep. I woke up mattering on about a dream of Dubai. I don’t recall any dream 😂 we managed to have s nice evening last night and went to eat on south bank and then after the hospital we went for brunch and then straight up to the station! I’ve just been sleeping since getting home but may try and get myself out for a couple of hours to the local.

I don’t think many of the 27 will be mature as I started with around that many empty follicles and still had a cluster of small ones so they probably never got to size. I’m also hoping quality isn’t compromised! But I guess we will know more tomorrow. After waking up to 4 last time I was hoping for 10 this time! I was on shock at 27! But like @Russkispy said quality not quantity so I still worry (I am a worrier though).

WineWinner · 01/03/2019 19:18

4dp5dt why did I test so early! I'm happy obviously but so anxious after my chemical last time!

Russkispy · 01/03/2019 19:38

@sweetsaltypopcorn I did ask my doctor why I was feeling dizzy and she told me it was from progesterone. It will pass in time.
@Ginandtonic31 , hope it will still be a good number!
@WineWinner very tentative congratulations!

Meownow9 · 01/03/2019 19:57

Help, I'm having a bit of a panic!

I don't know what's up with my brain but I came home tonight about 7pm, went to the loo and absent-mindedly popped in a progesterone pessary despite that I wouldn't normally do it until I go to bed. Argh! I don't know what's wrong with me, I keep doing silly things!

I'm on three per day, so I guess it's best to leave it at that for today, but now I'm worried I've messed up my timings. And now I'm worrying in general that I've not been doing them spaced out enough. I usually do them 7am, 1.30pm and 10pm on a typical day.

What do you think? Am I worrying about nothing?

Meownow9 · 01/03/2019 20:59

Ignore me, on reflection I'm sure it's fine. Guess I'm just feeling a bit anxious leading up to test day.

WineWinner · 01/03/2019 21:28

Meow I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine! I'm often a little scatty with mine depending on what time I get up and go to bed. My nurse told me it was best first thing and when I go to bed so that I'm still so I'm sure the exact timing isn't too strict x

Meownow9 · 01/03/2019 22:37

Thanks @WineWinner, I think my initial idiot mistake just sent me into a panic! I'm sure it won't make a significant difference.

And congrats to you :) x

Ginandtonic31 · 02/03/2019 11:14

Just had the call and 25 of the 27 were mature (wasn’t expecting that at all!) and 19 have fertilised. Next call on Thursday now to see how many made it to the freezer and to test. Too scared to get my hopes up.

2019isouryear · 02/03/2019 11:18

@Ginandtonic they’re amazing numbers x

WineWinner · 02/03/2019 12:33

Amazing numbers!! I'd definitely be feeling excited with those. Congrats!

Russkispy · 02/03/2019 14:27

@Ginandtonic31 that's fantastic news!

AliceAbsolum · 02/03/2019 17:27

Amazing results for our little thread today! Whoop whoop. BFP and 17 fertilized. Awesomeness.

Evie8010 · 02/03/2019 18:05

@WineWinner huge congratulations that's so exciting!!!

@Ginandtonic31 wow they AMAZING numbers!!!! So great!!!!

Having a lot of cramps today don't feel it is a very good sign ...
