Hi all, starting a new thread for those of us who are starting IVF treatment in February.

This will be my second round of ICSI, I start buserelin injections on 17th February. We have MFI (low sperm count) and after our first cycle ended in a chemical pregnancy, I demanded a laparoscopy because I have always had painful periods. The lap discovered I have mild endometriosis and mild adenomyosis but the surgeon said it was mild enough to not affect my fertility.

I am continuing with the NHS, doing a second fresh cycle. We have 3 frozen embryos from the first round as backup if this one doesn't work...

Would be good to have some cycle buddies to share support over the next couple of months...

Just found out 11 of our 12 eggs fertilised, and we've got 8 embryos :) cautiously relieved. Booked in for day 5 transfer on Saturday so keeping myself occupied until then!

Ginandtonic31 · 19/02/2019 13:21

@meownow that’s excellent! I can only dream of good numbers this time.

I’m uncomfy today but I don’t know if it’s wind 😕my stomach hurts but sometimes feels like ovary pain and other times trapped wind!

Russkispy · 19/02/2019 15:15

Thank you ladies! Going for blood tests on Friday and to repeat on Monday. Hopefully it sticks this time! Last May had an IUI but it ended in a MMC. Then had 2 more IUI. Failed. And 1 failed IVF. No frosties. Was about to start IVF. And got a BFP. Hard not to worry but keeping positive and resilient!
@Meownow9 congrats on fertilised embies! Fingers crossed for Saturday!

Thund4rcat · 19/02/2019 15:15

@russkispy wow! Congratulations!

@meownow9 good luck to you and your embryos, fingers crossed for you.

I just started buserelin injections today. Forgot that the first few would hurt afterwards like a bee sting!

I am now suddenly really struggling to concentrate at work, I just really cannot motivate myself with it, as all I can think about is IVF. Do others feel like that too?

@Thunder4at yes I’m stimming right now and struggle to concentrate at work. I did last round too. The days drag!! I’m constantly checking on here for someone to talk to!

Meownow9 · 19/02/2019 18:15

Thanks everyone, it's nice feeling supported on here - you're helping me to stress less!

@Ginandtonic31 I know what you mean about wind vs ovary pain, it feels so similar.

@Thund4rcat likewise, even when it's going well. It just seems that everything else is so unimportant in comparison! Buserelin jabs go on forever. I like looking at the treatment sheet when I've ticked off all the down-regging and stims injections (at which point I'm usually told I need to carry on longer, haha).

Hi ladies first time poster on this thread! Lovely to hear of lots of positive stories on the thread already! Going through my first cycle of IVF on Gonal F and certrocine I’m 38 and have a DS who is 3 (conceived naturally). Got a call today to say I have two good size follicles and a number of smaller ones and they will make a call tomorrow on whether to abandon the cycle.. has anyone experienced this? I guess better to abandon than only have 1 or two eggs. I had prepared myself for a failed cycle but not an abandoned one as all my fertility tests were positive. Im normally very positive but feeling a bit bruised tonight :-( any words of wisdom appreciated

Hi
Just after some advice really.....had to have a freeze all due to OHSS and had my post egg collection bleed about 5 days after EC
It's now 3 weeks since EC and had what I thought was post sex bleeding last night (never happened before - bright red and quite a lot) and today it seems to be continuing - could this be my period???

Ginandtonic31 · 20/02/2019 11:42

Today is one of those days again. Absolutely no motivation. Help me!!!!

@Evie why is it they are thinking of abondong? How long have you been on the Gonal F?

Meownow9 · 20/02/2019 22:28

@Ginandtonic31 how long have you got to go on your stims?

Ginandtonic31 · 20/02/2019 23:02

@MeowNow9 I’m only on day 6. Got a scan Friday morning then hopefully mid next week for collection.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 21/02/2019 05:42

I had my egg collection yesterday morning. 9 eggs retrieved Smile Waiting for my call this morning to find out how many fertilised - we had ICSI, so feeling positive.
Does anyone else get so sick from the sedation?! I couldn't stop throwing up all the way home! Confused

Meownow9 · 21/02/2019 08:18

Not too long to go @Ginandtonic31 - fingers crossed for collection next week!

@sweetsaltypopcorn congrats on your nine eggs :) crossing my fingers for you too.

I don't get sick from the sedation but felt so sore and bloated the last couple of days I could barely walk at one point, but I think it's finally starting to subside. I never had that before - it's funny how one cycle can vary so much to the next. Hope you feel better now.

Ginandtonic31 · 21/02/2019 09:05

I’m do worried that I should be feeling more by now? Sometimes my right ovary feels like something is happening but nothing in the left. Last time only one responded (but the opposite) so I’m on edge about that. I keep thinking 7 days is still early days and then I convince myself it isn’t working!

@sweetsaltypopcorn that’s a great number and I would be very happy with that! I wasn’t sick last time but hoping I’m not this time either as I want to go for lunch after and then we’ve got to get a train home north from London! Could do without being sick!!

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 09:30

Woke up to a gush of blood! Came from nowhere! Like AF bleed. I'm not in pain or cramps. Still feeling queasy. Yesterday I was so tired but wasn't feel nauseous. I'm not sure what to make of it as it's a completely unknown territory and I'm not connected/tuned to it. Feeling weird. Impartial, emotionally. Hard to describe, ladies. My doc told me to take progesterone right now and evening. And still go for HCG and progesterone blood tests tomorrow and I will. I'm not seeking answers. Tests will give me some answers. And will take it from there. Other than that I'm ok. I'm not consulting Dr Google nor am I taking FRER. What will be will be. I always have a plan B. My IVF drugs are in the fridge. Time will tell.

Meownow9 · 21/02/2019 09:57

@Ginandtonic31 I know it's hard but try not to worry. I have a recurrent cyst on one of my ovaries so I always produce most of my eggs from the other one, but my numbers have still been okay.

I hardly felt anything this time round - it was only on day 9 or so when I got a few twinges and sore boobs, and that was after they'd booked me in for egg collection.

I know this is all about me but I'm just trying to reassure you that no symptoms doesn't necessarily mean bad news! Try and keep yourself occupied - not long until your scan x

intrigued2018 · 21/02/2019 10:42

Hi all, jumping across from the Jan/Feb hat - some familiar faces here which is great 😀 . Had egg collection yesterday, they retrieved 13eggs. Got the call this morning to say 11 were mature eggs, of which 6 fertilised overnight. One fertilised abnormally so that is discounted and 5 still growing - can't help but feel disheartened as know we will lose more along the way. They are still talking about 5dt. Dr google is making me panic!

Good luck @sweetsaltypopcorn And @Meownow9 for news on your eggs! And good luck to everyone else on the journey 😘 I've found being part of these chats really helpful! X

Twiglet2353 · 21/02/2019 12:14

@Russkispy Like you said I can't give answers but can send you love and hope that things work out okay xx

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 16:48

Thank you ladies. I'm absolutely convinced it's AF. And tomorrow bloods will confirm it, I'm sure. If HCG is less than 1, then my doc will agree with starting IVF following day. I'll have my results in the afternoon.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 21/02/2019 16:57

Call came this morning: all nine were mature and seven fertilised! Over the moon with that.
Good luck all you incredible ladies SmileFlowers

Meownow9 · 21/02/2019 17:18

That's great @sweetsaltypopcorn :)

intrigued2018 · 21/02/2019 17:41

Great news @sweetsaltypopcorn!

@Russkispy - sorry missed your previous post, sending you massive hugs and some Thanks xxx

Ginandtonic31 · 22/02/2019 10:46

I’m so sorry to read this @Russkispy. How are you feeling today?

I had my scan this morning and everything is growing so that’s good. Just not ready yet which I didn’t expect anyway. Both ovaries seem to be similar this time so that’s positive and she said lots of follicles. She didn’t count today just measured the biggest and said they were 15 so going back for another scan on Monday. I hope there’s not just like 2 at 15 and actually a lot getting bigger 😂

Meownow9 · 22/02/2019 11:10

That's good @Ginandtonic31. Hope you can relax a bit now and that you get good news on Monday.

intrigued2018 · 22/02/2019 11:25

@Ginandtonic31 - pleased everything seems to be working and today scan has given you a little more reassurance! Good luck for scan on Monday.

All my 5 eggs still growing well and been told they are high graded. Should be having transfer on Monday all things being well x
