Ivf Birmingham Women’s Hospital

Hi, me and my husband have had all our tests done and have been referred for IVF on NHS funding, we have been told that there should be no reason why we shouldn’t get funding but I am wondering what the time frames are on when we will receive our letter to state we have the funding to when when we will get the next appointment and timescales on treatment, we have always knew what the fertility issue was but we have had to have all tests going to rule out anything else before referring us and this has taken nearly 1 and a half years so am unsure on how long the next bit will take, any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated x

I did a cheeky test today. Its negative and im bleeding too. 😥

My official test date is 20th

Sorry to hear that @Babydoll19. Your otd is still quite a while away though. Hopefully the bleeding doesn't mean it's over. Can you contact the hospital? Sending positive vibes 💜🤞

Well 2 days spotting and then full bleed. Gna call hosp just to inform but obv they will make me wait for official test date. I wonder if they will do a scan just to see if theres a miacle baby lurking. Plus I have had ectopic and miscarriage previously

I called today but didnt say about the test. They said too early for a scan they wont see anything nw and i should do test on 20th (official test day). I asked for a scan just to see if anything is lurking around. They said they might do it at 6 weeks given my previous history of ectopic n miscarriage.

Hi all been reading through wishing you all the best of luck on your journey.. ours is just about to start after about 2 years of appointments with gp, Walsall manor hospital and now BWH. We had appointment with dr shah in feb and we have group appointment on Thursday.. really nervous as I know how close we are to starting.. any advice and tips would be great.. we have MFI also.. fingers crossed for you all 🤞🏻 xx

Does anybody know how many cycles of ivf is free? Im getting mixed messages/info

@Babydoll19 I think it's one cycle, presume that includes any frozen embryos though. Do you have any? How you feeling?

Hi @LauraDale1989, I'm still really early on. We've seen Dr Shah but got to have hsg and hysteroscopy before seeing him again in September. Hope the group session goes well.

Ohh I remember the hsg very well.. i think I had mine about a year ago now but we were still under manor hospital then we hadn’t seen dr shah until we actually got referred over bwh for ivf. I’m hoping I’ve got time on my side as I turned 30 last week and my OH is 31. I reckon your next appointment in September will be the referral then possibly the same appointment as we had with him in Feb so not too far away.. hate playing the waiting game lol xx
