Do I REALLY have to wait 14 days after transfer?!

I had two embryos transferred (5 day blasts using donor eggs) six days ago (Tuesday 29th May) and the waiting is AGONY. I'm under strict instructions from my clinic to test on day 14 post-transfer, but DH will be away for work on test day. Naturally I'd much prefer him to be with me, but prolonging the agony for two additional days until he returns will be so hard!

Could I test on the evening of day 12 and get an accurate result? Or should I either test by myself on day 14 or wait until day 16 when DH is back?

I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s so shit.

@pez82. I know your post is well intentioned, but you might want to ask MNHQ to delete it as the OP states in her initial post that she used donor eggs so your last paragraph might be pretty difficult for her to read.

Oh, I am so so sorry, I completely overlooked this and feel awful about it (thanks for pointing it to me Earlgrey)

Hope you are doing ok today redpanda xx

I’m sorryFlowers

Hold on in there. It’s horrible. We took 5 cycles (Cycle 5 was me in a complete grump as I wanted to stop after 4 and get my life back! But dh said he really wanted one more and I didn’t want the what if!). Remember you are a hormone soup at the moment so scream shout cry... watch bad movies, eat whatever you want! Then pick yourself up and decide what to do next!

Thank you so much for all the kind words, everyone - it's incredibly sad that so many women (and their partners) have to go through this.

I'm currently on the train on my way into the office - really not sure if I can keep a brave face on just yet, but I guess life has to go back to normal.

Pez - yeah, my body truly is shit, was diagnosed with POF when I was 28. I think that's why I was so hopeful - nice healthy eggs from a donor!

@redpandafluff I’m so sorry to hear this, please don’t give up hope though. Did you manage to freeze any? I too had egg donor ivf the fresh cycle failed but the frozen one stuck and i am currently 12 weeks 5 days. The clinic mixed up the meds this time too and added 75mg aspirin and prednisone aswell as my progesterone and estrogen xx

Hello ladies! Been wonderful reading all your updates. I feel your ups and downs like their my own.

Bit of an update from my side. Been really struggling with the two week wait, so just decided to test 4 days early today - which was 7dp5dpo fet. And its a BFP!! We are thrilled! ❤️❤️❤️

Will continue following your journeys x

@eurochick

I think the issue with testing early is if the clinic gave you hcg around transfer it can still be in your system, giving a false positive. A lot of people, me included, test out the hcg given as part of the process so they know if levels go up again it is a true positive.
Yes I'd be worried about a false positive.

I would test alone on day 14
