Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

@picklesandpetals thank you, I think I have also gathered strength in reading the journeys that many of you on this thread have been on too. I think the serenity prayer has been so woven into the work that I do and this is why I find the acceptance stage easier to get to. Its not so easy for DH though bless him

findingmyfeet12 · 22/05/2018 19:32

I've had my second blood test today and it's negative for me.

I have an appointment in July so we'll start all over again.

Good luck to everyone whatever stage you're at Flowers

picklesandpetals · 22/05/2018 20:19

@findingmyfeet12 really sorry to hear that 😔 sending you a hug. So heartbreaking after going through the cycle. Hopefully next cyce will be a positive one x

picklesandpetals · 22/05/2018 20:21

@AniSL bless you. Hopefully your husband bounces back from this quickly too. I think I need some spiritual time x

AniSL · 22/05/2018 20:27

hoping2018 · 22/05/2018 21:51

@findingmyfeet12 I'm sorry to hear that - I hope you're doing as well as you can x

PonyPals · 22/05/2018 23:36

I'm sorry to hear @findingmyfeet12 I hope your next cycle is positive. Take care of your self.

Si1ver · 23/05/2018 08:25

I'm so sorry @findingmyfeet12. I hope the next cycle is the one that gives you your baby.

bangsaklove · 23/05/2018 08:30

@findingmyfeet12 Look after yourself I wish you lots of luck and best wishes for the next attempt x
I have my scan today to see how follies are doing. Did anyone end up taking the Stims for more than 2 weeks? I get so nervous !

Ahoneybee · 23/05/2018 08:59

@findingmyfeet12 I wish you all the luck for next time too.

hoping2018 · 23/05/2018 09:11

Hi guys,

I've had lots of symptoms of OHSS and literally look 4 months pregnant so cracked yesterday evening at 9dp3dt and got s very faint positive at 9.30pm at night. Still there this morning and actually done 5 tests as so paranoid. Faint but there! Feeling cautiously optimistic - whatever happens it's further than I've ever gotten before. I've not got any symptoms other than extreme bloating and thirst (both OHSS) boobs not sore at all.

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed and hoping that this offers a bit of comfort to others who haven't had successful cycles as my first cycle was disastrous! They really do learn from each try and it doesn't mean another time you'll get the same results.

Hope everyone else's 2ww's are going ok xxx

bangsaklove · 23/05/2018 09:36

@hoping2018 amazing news!

picklesandpetals · 23/05/2018 10:11

@hoping2018 that's great news! 🤗 very happy for you. You might be a mummy to twins

I had a little pink spotting yesterday afternoon, hardly anything. This morning woke up with a little light brown watery discharge when wiped, which has now stopped. Got tummy cramps, thirsty, peeing like a racehorse. I'm crossing my fingers that this is a good sign and not AF. So stressed. Nothing I can do to change it though

Have read that when you have 2 transferred that the bleeding might be from loosing just one of them, trying to stay positive here! The wait is killing me

picklesandpetals · 23/05/2018 10:24

@bangsaklove good luck for your scan today, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞

@findingmyfeet12 So sorry it didn't work out this time. Hopefully you will have a positive cycle next time

bangsaklove · 23/05/2018 10:39

@picklesandpetals I didnt know that re two of them, I have asked for two if viable. Is your test date soon? I can’t keep up with everyone
Scan all good! If a little uncomfy all follies growing she counted maybe 13-14 I think. Wasn’t sure what all the measurements mean but doc was pleased and said they may reduce my Gonal F dose but will call me later. So on Friday I should have my EC date....the end is in sight hallelujah !

PonyPals · 23/05/2018 10:50

Wow @bangsaklove you are getting so close!

@hoping2018 fingers crossed the line gets darker and darker.
This 2ww is super hard and I'm only on 4dp5dt

Si1ver · 23/05/2018 11:30

@hoping2018 that's great news! Tentative congratulations!

@picklesandpetals everything crossed for you. Apparently implantation can take place up to 8dpt. When are you testing?

@PonyPals I only lasted until 9dp5dt before testing. You're nearly there. But the waiting is hideous.

@bangsaklove not long to go before EC!

My tests have continued to improve. Today my test line was as strong as my control line and it's confirmed on a cbd. Husband is no longer insisting that it doesn't count until Saturday and is happy to agree that I'm pregnant.

rainylake · 23/05/2018 12:28

@hoping2018 wonderful! Congratulations! Good luck with the next stage.

@findingmyfeet12 really sorry you've had bad news this time and hopefully success is yet to come for you

@bangsaklove good news on the scan. By the way if it turns out there is a quality discrepancy between your best and second best embryo they may advise that your chances of getting pregnant are better if you only transfer one and save the second for later: www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/science/2017/jan/05/ivf-pregnancy-less-successful-with-two-embryos-study-finds

hoping2018 · 23/05/2018 12:30

Thanks all

@picklesandpetals I think thirsty and cramps sounds positive judging by my symptoms! My clinic said not to read into spotting too much. How many days are you on currently and when are you planning to test?

I've tested ridiculously early but as I've done a cycle before I know the progesterone didn't do this to my abdomen last time so was pretty suspicious. Is so faint though so hoping it gets darker like yours @Si1ver. My husband told me off for being not excited enough but trying to be realistic. My sister had two MC last year too so I know there are no guarantees.

Also slightly terrified by the prospect of twins - my clinic don't do BT and wouldn't book me for a scan until I get past OTD of Sunday! So I'll just keep testing til then.

@bangsaklove glad your scan went well! It sounds like things are progressing well - there's a lot of evidence that collecting >15 eggs has no benefit on chances of success so 13-14 follicles sounds perfect!

hoping2018 · 23/05/2018 12:33

@rainylake and @bangsaklove I mentioned the study you've pasted rainylake to my clinic but they felt it wasn't significant?! Another example of varying advice!

rainylake · 23/05/2018 12:45

@hoping2018 I guess the nature of research science is that scientists will disagree about the conclusions of any given study and its methodology. So it probably depends on what view the consultants take at the clinic, what their own angle is, and what other studies have been done that suggest different results that don't make it into the media. Because the success of IVF is so incredibly complex and depends on so many different things which varies between every woman that I guess it's really hard to isolate what makes a difference overall.

It may also depend on how worried a clinic is about their multiples rate vs their success rate? Because they have to try to keep their multiples rate below a limit set by the HFEA but obviously they also want to keep their success rates as high as possible, and for any given woman whether or not it's best to transfer 1 or 2 is going to vary a lot depending on her personal factors (ie age, response to previous treatment, quality of embryos). So it might be that regardless of the study they don't think it's relevant to their particular patients.

It did make me crack up though when they gave me a leaflet saying "transferring two embryos increases your chances of a multiple birth". I was a bit "No shit Sherlock"!

Ahoneybee · 23/05/2018 12:50

@hoping2018 that sounds like good news. I cracked and did a clear blue test yesterday evening 9dp3dt and got a faint positive. I've done another first thing this morning and got a clear negative. Confused! Think I should of waited to official test date on Sunday.

HappyHedgehog247 · 23/05/2018 12:51

Hello

The wait is awful @picklesandpetals. Nearly there.

@finding I am sorry it didn't work this time. The disappointment is horrid.

@hoping and @si1ver so glad all is going well!

I'm off to my hospital shortly for a review. Keen to hear what they say as hate the feeling of being in limbo.
And hoping to collect my notes ready for CRGH appointment next week so I can compare and contrast although think it's 2x as much cost.

@AniSL would still love your spreadsheet when you have chance.
X

hoping2018 · 23/05/2018 13:10

@Ahoneybee sorry to hear that! How incredibly frustrating. False positives are very rare and in early stages depends how concentrated your urine is? So I guess keep testing. Mine was done same stage as you but was super faint - was very appreciative DH was there to confirm he could see it too. I can see why you want to waist til OTD but I wouldn't be able to do that!!

@HappyHedgehog247 good luck with the review - I felt so much better after first cycle when we had a plan of action!

bangsaklove · 23/05/2018 13:33

I can’t thank you enough for all the advice and wisdom even though I’m lagging behind somewhat haha
Its a minefield isn’t it, I don’t think there are any definitive answers! I will certainly read the article and weigh up options I am with nHS so I wonder if their boundaries/advice differ from private
@Silver this is so lovely to read must be very surreal!
Chin up everyone and roll on bank holiday, even if I’ll be being harvested rather than in a beer garden hehe
