Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

@picklesandpetals that sounds hopeful. Sorry the experience wasn’t better. How many days of cetrotide have you had?

I have a number of small follicles on each side but still early to know just how many. I start cetrotide tonight. A bit anxious given the experience of some but I’m braced for it atleast which helps!

picklesandpetals · 04/05/2018 15:55

@Cobblestones 4 days of cetrotide. Mine is a morning injection though. What stims you on? Yeah brace yourself, it's not pleasant 😬 I bring mine to room temperature now . Did you have a scan today? When you getting scanned again? X

Cobblestones · 04/05/2018 16:35

@picklesandpetals I had the scan this morning. I’ll be taking cetrotide at the same time as menopur ie at night. And they’ve told me to leave it at room temperature. Strange how every clinic differs even in the smallest of things! Next scan is Monday.

Cobblestones · 04/05/2018 16:36

Taking menopur alternating bw 75 and 150 iu

Cobblestones · 04/05/2018 17:45

Just got a call from the hospital. My estrogen is 4000 and they want to see me again tomorrow 😔😔 the first thing google says is at moderate risk of OHSS...

rainylake · 04/05/2018 18:11

Hi ladies, is it okay if I join? I'm partway through my cycle, and up till now I've been too nervous to talk to join the thread in case too much IVF talk stresses me out, but now I feel like I'd really appreciate being in touch with other people who are going through the same thing.

I'm on day 9 of my stims (gonal). Symptoms-wise it's been okay so far except that my abdomen has been really sore and a bit swollen the last few days. Clinic phoned today to say that they want me for egg collection on Tuesday, so it's getting real. A bit nervous, as at the scan this morning the nurse wasn't sure I'd be ready by then, but I'm hoping that it's good news that they've decided to go ahead.

hoping2018 · 04/05/2018 20:05

Hi all,

@picklesandpetals great news on your scan going ok but sorry you felt so rushed! I've never been offered pictures of the follicles but have of the embryos? and in response to your qu. Nope TTC #1!

@HappyHedgehog247 Hope your had a great holiday and fingers crossed for your PUPO becoming official - a lovely birthday present of hope!!

hoping2018 · 04/05/2018 20:14

Oops pressed send too soon!

Ahh @Summerloving17 try not to be too scared - with it being your 5th round the odds of success are getting higher and higher statistically!!

@Cobblestones it's all so overwhelming so don't worry you feel low. Tbh I've been much less emotional or upset on this second round despite knowing our chances of success have gotten much much less! I think the knowing what to expect really helps

@ponypals - early days for you on day 7 - it really does only take one good one!

My scan showed lots of follicles (25 follies sized 9-15mm plus some more) but I've been here before and we didn't get any good quality blasts at the end so it's hard to be excited by the numbers. Quality not quantity! Wish my ovaries knew this though

@rainylake I was going to message on the other thread as your description of your symptoms is identical to how I feel!! They were meant to be stimulating me less this cycle but it doesn't seem to have worked - day 9 and my ovaries are touching already Sad

Feel like I've got the worst of both worlds - the discomfort of my abdomen having expanded by about 5 inches already and still unlikely to get any good quality blasts!

They've said EC Thursday for me so unfortunately still a lot of discomfort and growing to go.

Hope people are felling physically better than me today! 🤢 xxx

CiroDiMarzio · 04/05/2018 20:19

What a lovely birthday present @happyhedgehog247 best of luck over the next two weeks, I’ll be thinking of you.

I love the mantra @southernbella74 - I’ll be remembering that over the next few days!

I’ve not heard from the clinic today so hoping for good news tomorrow morning that all embies are still looking good and we can wait to go for blasts on Monday.

I went back to work today and have been so sore, it’s just a desk job but my poor ovaries feel very bruised still 😢 also this evening I’m feeling quite sick so have taken myself off to bed before dinner!

I hope you all have a good weekend xxx

hoping2018 · 04/05/2018 20:44

@CiroDiMarzio impressed you went back to work! I didn't go back til a week after - make sure your drinking plenty as with >20 eggs your at risk of OHSS. X

picklesandpetals · 04/05/2018 20:58

@Cobblestones same as me, scan again Monday morning. At least they're getting you back in again tomorrow to check estrogen, good luck with that

@rainylake Welcome to the thread. I'm on gonal and cetrotide. My tummy has been getting sorer later and have lots of bruising. Good luck for Tuesday

@hoping2018 I'm definitely hoping for embryo pics. Feeling quite sick myself today too. Hopefully they'll be lots of new mummies from this thread 🤗

I got some Brazil nuts and fresh pineapple today, read it's good for trying

Wishing you all a lovely weekend xx

rainylake · 04/05/2018 21:26

@picklesandpetals to answer your question, I do have a 3.5 year old. It took 2 years to conceive her and we were actually planning on starting IVF at the time, but then I found out I was pregnant a few days after getting the initial paperwork through from the clinic. No idea what happened that month that made it different from any other before or since.

We've been ttc no 2 for another couple of years now and I'm now 38, so we decided that it wasn't going to happen naturally, and wanted to give IVF a shot so that I didn't look back years later and regret not having tried it. We have pre-paid for 2 cycles on one of the Access Fertilility plans, and if that doesn't work, we will then draw a line under it and accept our family as it is. I feel like struggling to conceive has been hanging over me for much of my thirties, and it's time to move on from that one way or another.

It does make the whole thing a lot easier, because much as we would love to be able to have a second, if it doesn't work out it will obviously much less painful than if we didn't have a child. I do feel very grateful that we have managed to have 1, and whatever happens we will still have been lucky compared to others.

I would like to go to bed now, but I have to wait up till 10 to do my stim jab. Would also love a bath, but that's not allowed either. But I just saw online that using a hot water bottle is okay, so I think I might try that instead.

windy2909 · 04/05/2018 21:42

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and getting positive news at all their appointments.

Have been refraining from MN as I am in total limbo just now, so will have to read through thread to catch up on everyone’s news.

I’m not even sure I’ll end up being able to part of the cycle thread the way things are going. Expected af weeks ago and it’s just not showing. I finally gave in yesterday and phoned clinic. The nurse was great and said that they need to get me in for bloods to see what’s going on. I’m booked in for early next week and will just have to see what they say. I’m still holding out hope, but feel I may be clutching at straws x

findingmyfeet12 · 04/05/2018 22:23

I haven't read the thread today. I hope everyone is doing ok?

I had my ec today and they managed to get 10. I'm still woozy from the anaesthetic and feeling pretty sore. Had a long nap and dh has been looking after me.

If I get any blasts they'll transfer one on Wednesday.

CiroDiMarzio · 04/05/2018 22:27

@findingmyfeet12 that’s great news, well done to you and your ovaries. Fingers crossed you get good news for next week. Try to have a relaxing weekend x

findingmyfeet12 · 04/05/2018 22:27

Windy I just read your post. My hospital let me start stims without af showing up. Fingers crossed for your blood test results 🤞

HappyHedgehog247 · 04/05/2018 22:53

@findingmyfeet that's fantastic news you got 10!!! Well done to your ovaries. Hoping you feel much better tomorrow and glad you are being looked after. Xx

Si1ver · 05/05/2018 07:10

@findingmyfeet12 ten is great! Well done!

How you're feeling better today.

Cobblestones · 05/05/2018 08:27

@findingmyfeet that’s fantastic! Hope you get some good news on fertilisation

@hoping that sounds rough..! Nearly touching.. ouch! Hope you’re in better spirits today. A very novice qs coming up!! So given the clinic’s experience with you and that they didn’t get any high quality blasts the last time - is there anything the clinic plans to do differently this time? Other than try and stimulate less? And can you do anything that would have an impact eg acupuncture?

hoping2018 · 05/05/2018 08:52

Hey @Cobblestones ,

Good question! They've had me and husband on loads of supplements, I've been supposedly stimulated a bit less (though no one seems sur what will make much difference). DH got test for DNA fragmentation too which was moderately high and therefore he's having sperm retrieval this time round which fingers crossed will help. (They seem to think more of a sperm problem which was the reason for IVF in the first place)

We got 14 fertilised embryos but only had 2 day 5 blasts last time, grade AC and BC. Had one put back - BFN.

We've been told were very unlikely to get anything to freeze and recommended to put two back if the quality is the same.

Apparently we're "very unusual". I think people normally get about a 1/3 of their fertilised eggs to good quality embryos.

hoping2018 · 05/05/2018 08:55

And I had a scratch this time - implantation really wasn't the reason the cycle failed but I want to feel like we've tried everything!

Clinic also very supportive of time lapse/embryoscope - helped loads last cycle in realising where the embryos failed

AniSL · 05/05/2018 09:44

Welcome all be posters who are on the same journey, I haven't been able to read all the posts yet. My app crashed

Picklesandpetals I can't seem to pm but the clinics I found best for my age of 36 were Reprofit and Newlife.

Now on day 4 and still on 150 Gonal, no side effects but will be starting Cetrotide tomorrow. My clinic told me leaving them both at room temp would help with side effects.

Good luck to all those who are at the 2ww and those who are nearing EC and of course just everyone on this crazy journey.

We fly on Wednesday to 2 weeks in the sun

findingmyfeet12 · 05/05/2018 10:35

Hoping my sister has had two cycles with around 17 eggs retrieved each time yet nothing lasted 5 days. It's so disheartening Flowers

I've just been doubled over in agony with trapped wind. Inserting my progesterone this morning was agony too (tmi). I'm hoping I feel better for the transfer because the idea of another speculum is bringing me out in a cold sweat.

SouthernBella74 · 05/05/2018 10:44

Hi ladies, I hope you're all having a lovely start to the long weekend. I can't believe the sun is out! Grin

@findingmyfeet12, congrats on the 10 eggs! Wishing you good fertilisation. Star

@hoping2018, you are definitely some kind of medical miracle! Hopefully, you will surprise the professionals and there will be good quality embryos this time Smile

@CiroDiMarzio, I hope you're feeling better today. When do you here about your embryos?

Good luck to all those at your various stages of this process.

AFM, just taking it easy trying not to obsess to much about what's going on in my body. Not sure how I'm feeling about this TWW so far....Hmm
But thankfully the sun is out today, so can't help but be happy! Smile

HappyHedgehog247 · 05/05/2018 11:03

Morning Team

Just had a chance to catch up

@findingmyfeet I hope the wind eases and you can rest today. At my clinic, DP could come in the room for transfer which may help.

@windy so sorry you are in limbo

@hoping fingers crossed for you. I hope you don't get too uncomfortable and some of those follicles are nurturing little eggs for you.

Day 2 of TWW for me. I make myself look at the stats for my age group every day as while I want to hope I also don't want a crashing disappointment. Have also been googling how early I can test and when implantation would be to see if I can feel it. Diet has gone to pot so need to get back on it! I blame the progesterone. All I want to do is eat and sleep.

Hoping everyone gets to enjoy the sun.
