Thanks @Liverpool19 - got everything crossed for you and @wombats...love to hear success stories, makes me think this whole ordeal (trying/referrals/procedures/BadNews/Meds) will all be worth it! X

Aliona19 · 23/03/2018 12:54

Hi all new ladies

Winnie56 they told me about Fet on my first appointment, well they said is highly likely. During my stims they offered to cancel it altogether but i said No way. So my EC was 13 October and I started injecting and getting ready for transfer on 9 january, which went on for 6 weeks and had my transfer on 23 February. I felt ok before EC (maybe little slower when walking so it doesn’t hurt) and after EC was fine too. First two days was throwing up twice 😅 but other than that fine. As I am working on my feet all day I was back to work Monday with no problem after fridays EC. Xx

XstephanieX · 23/03/2018 13:14

Thanks for the welcome @Starlumiere :) I feel better today so have a feeling these next few weeks are going to be a bit of a rollercoaster! X

becky114 · 23/03/2018 14:29

Although I have had no cramping I have had what I would describe as twinges in my lower back and ovary area. Also more tired and hungry but I think that could be the hormones. Xxx

physicskate · 23/03/2018 14:56

@winnie56 - I am a little bit behind you in the process. I have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome (because I don't 'look' like I do, according to the consultant).

I am currently on clomid cycle 6 so expect to be told onwards to ivf at our next appointment on Monday. I too feel like a lot of steps have been missed out. The sum total of my tests so far: rubella, FSH, chlamydia. One ultrasound (revealed loads of cysts, perhaps 30?).

Then my first clomid cycle was tracked, so we had 3 ultrasounds and a cd 21 test which confirmed ovulation. That's it. Now on to IVF. It seems drastic, considering I am 'unexplained' because no one has tried to find an explanation!!! Oh and DH's SA was 'great' but we were never told the results. We've been to the info evening, but it all seems so hasty. Two years ttc.

GP had refused to refer me as I had a cp at the year mark. He told me 'have more miscarriages' or 'wait another year'. Needless to say, I self-referred to the fertility clinic last July.

becky114 · 23/03/2018 15:09

Oh my days ladies, some of you have had a right fight on your hands to get to IVF. It took me 11 months with all the tests to finally get to start, but doctors were relatively supportive at every stage so I really feel for those that had difficulty right from the get go! Xxx

Winnie56 · 23/03/2018 17:50

Physickate can I ask if you were put on clomid because of ovulation issues? We just went straight to IVF and missed that part out.

physicskate · 23/03/2018 18:14

@winnie56 - Of course you can ask!! I crave any information I can get my hands on and you seem to be most like me clinically!!

I had not had a day 21 test before trying clomid (as my GP was a complete ass). I did/ do have sometimes long, sometimes a bit irregular cycles. Average 35 days, ranging from 28-39 days in the last two years. So they said, we may as well try clomid, despite no evidnce that ovulation is actually a problem. I've not had an HSG, Lap, or anything to check tubal patency. Because I have had two chemicals (July 16, March 17), negative for chlamydia antibodies and never had abdominal surgery, my consultant said I didn't need anything like that...

I've been treated so poorly by health care professionals throughout the last year or so because of this, I think it has really impacted my trust in the process.

It really irritates me how irregular the approach to infertility is by different doctors/ clinics/ GPs!!!

Winnie56 · 23/03/2018 18:22

It really shocks me that you haven't been given a 21 day test. Can you demand one? I think I would. If you are ovulating there is no point taking it.

I only went to my GP for a referral and after that it was visiting the consultant at my local hospital before being sent it Barts in London for IVF.

I had the lap and dye due to having a burst appendix and bowel surgery 13 years ago and everything was fine.

swimchick1980 · 23/03/2018 18:32

Happy Friday evening everyone - my favourite time of the week!

Lots of people in the 2ww, hang in there! It is a bugger but does end eventually.

Minster, what a fantastic result!

wombats, keeping everything crossed. I definitely see the line - I did my first test at 7dp5dt and it came up as a positive.

I'm 6 weeks pregnant today. Time is not going any quicker than the 2ww. My boobs are still bigger and I do feel a bit nauseous, so I'm really pleased about that. Still terrified that every time I go to the loo after my MC last time. Scan on 11th, so fingers crossed!

becky114 · 23/03/2018 18:57

@swimchick1980 good luck in you scan 😍 is this your first pregnancy? I was thinking about this today, how even after the two week wait and a positive outcome, I will still be on tender hooks until the 12th week xxx

swimchick1980 · 23/03/2018 19:12

@becky114, my third pregnancy. First and second both natural (but after a couple of years of trying each time). First one successful and second one ended in MC at 10 weeks. This was my first IVF/ICSI cycle and I feel so lucky it worked. Just keeping everything crossed now for a successful pregnancy.

Liverpool19 · 23/03/2018 19:18

Brilliant swim I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!! And hoping the sick feeling stays 😂.
Looks like the pinkish stuff I seen has stopped for me 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I also went back to the gym today after the nurses telling me to do light exercise, so hard to do light exercise when I’m used to sweating my head off 4 times a week 😂

Xx

becky114 · 23/03/2018 19:31

@Liverpool19 is this your first IVF cycle xxx

Liverpool19 · 23/03/2018 19:41

Yeah becky this is my first. Did you say it was yours? X

swimchick1980 · 23/03/2018 19:42

That's great @Liverpool19, keeping everything crossed for you. My tummy felt pretty uncomfortable for a long time after egg collection so I've done nothing for 4 weeks but I'm going to go for a wee run tomorrow to get back into it too - hopefully you still managed to enjoy your lighter workout.

@becky114, is this your first cycle?

wombats · 23/03/2018 19:51

Hi ladies, moving quickly! Thanks for all of the cautious congratulations.

@swimchick80, congrats! Nausea must be reassuring. Can't believe they're making you wait until 11th to do a scan, have you already had one?

@liverpool, it's difficult, isn't it? Trying to stay active but then find myself getting a bit crampy so end up much more sedentary than my usual. You're just one day behind me, so your test day must be Thurs?

@physicskate, have you got a date for starting your cycle yet? I also felt surprised to be put forward for IVF so quickly but consultant told me that IUI doesn't have much better outcomes, only useful if sperm can't get through cervix.

@stephanie, defo a massive rollercoaster ride, but hopefully worth it in the end!

@becky, I know exactly what you mean-if this works, I'll be on terrier hooks until I have a real baby in my arms!

@star, thanks for the reassurance, can really use a pep talk right now!

I've had a bit more cramping today-feels a bit like AF and also almost as if it's around my womb rather than inside, and seems to settle if I rest. Anyone else had this? Worried it's going to be a chemical or another miscarriage and now wish I had just waited til OTD to see a negative and think it had just failed altogether Sad

Liverpool19 · 23/03/2018 20:02

wombats yeah, so hard I was scared incase I was doing to much feel like I can’t win at the minute 😂 I test a week today. Really Gona try my best not to go early! I have a christening on Easter Sunday so I am happy I will know either way, it’ll either be processo Sunday or lemonade Sunday 😂😂 x

swimchick1980 · 23/03/2018 20:21

wombats, no not had a scan yet. They said it would be 8 weeks and they only seem to do them on Wednesdays so I'll be 8+5.

becky114 · 23/03/2018 20:28

Oh my days @Liverpool19 that's exactly what I keep saying to lift my mood if it's positive I'm pregnant. If it's negative theres a bottle of prosecco with my name in it. I say this but if I feel depressed I won't touch it lol.

@wombats try to remain positive, it looks like a definite positive test to me, and from what I'm aware cramping is normal to some extent. My friend said she had cramps all the way through her pregnancy. Remember as soon as that embryo implants your hormones and body will start changing really fast.

Yes ladies this is my first IVF cycle. Been trying for over 3 years and have never been pregnant ever xxx

Liverpool19 · 23/03/2018 20:42

Let’s hope the processo stays away for the next 9 months becky 🙌🏼 Xx

Aliona19 · 23/03/2018 20:42

@swimchick1980 hmm I am having same thing happening, kicking off that my scan only at about 8,5 weeks and they Only do this on Wednesdays 😤😤

physicskate · 23/03/2018 20:43

No @wombats. I have my next appointment Monday (fingers crossed!! They cancelled my last appointment and didn't tell me...). There is 'no waiting list' in the ccg. I'm thinking may or June might be realistic? But then again, maybe that's unrealistic...

I don't know what other hoops I'll have to jumpy through/ tests they'll want to do (haven't had any tests since October (cd 21) and July (fsh, rubella, chlamydia).

swimchick1980 · 23/03/2018 22:23

When do people normally get scans? I had no idea. I'm so nervous about the scan that in a way the longer they leave it, the happier I'll feel!

Good luck for Monday pysicskate, Hope you get a clear plan and thing start happening soon.

PonyPals · 24/03/2018 02:33

So many new people since I was here a couple of days ago.
AF came today and took me by surprise for some reason I thought it would be another week after the failed FET.
But I guess since I stopped all the medication I should have expected this.
More painful than ever before and strangely very very emotional ( I think it finally feels real).
Good luck to all the ladies in the 2ww!
