@Winnie56 I didn't have the bloods either and my first scan is Monday (which I'm insanely nervous about). I have a tendency to think the worst so no surprise there.

Janefx40 · 26/04/2018 11:02

@Winnie56 congrats. Blood tests are a mixed blessing. It was good for me last time because my levels were so low that I was at least aware that although I was getting positive tests (albeit 3 days post official test day) I knew it wasn't going to be a viable pregnancy. But the other side of the coin is that where I was before they test every 2 days and give a running commentary on whether the numbers have doubled or not giving lots of women unnecessary anxiety about pregnancies that work out fine.

Just done EC. We got 8 eggs from 11 follicles. Feeling quite disappointed as we had 14 last time from 12 follicles. Due to my age our fertilisation rate and then survival rate weren't amazing so am now worrying that we're going to have to do this all again if it doesn't work with nothing in the freezer. Gutted to be honest :(

Liverpool19 · 26/04/2018 11:24

Ahhh jane try not to worry I am sure you will be ok. As we all keep saying it only takes that magic one to work. When are you expected to transfer? Xx

Beherenow32 · 26/04/2018 12:03

jane I’ve only had 6 and then 7 eggs, and as you said I’m younger... so I think you’ve done great. But I know it’s so worrying. Sending you lots of warm wishes for good news the next few days.

Panicking that my ivf is coming up again, and dreading it. Not sure I’m ready yet....

Congrats to winnie and good luck to elly hoping I get some good eggs next time round 🤞 xx

PonyPals · 26/04/2018 12:17

@Janefx40 I can understand the disappointment but that amount sounds pretty good. When will you be doing the transfer?

Janefx40 · 26/04/2018 12:21

@PonyPals @Liverpool19 @Beherenow32 thanks folks. I know it's not terrible - it's just that they say at my age only 10% may be viable so I worry we'll have nothing to transfer/freeze.

They will tell me tomorrow when transfer is. They are keener on waiting to day 5 than my last clinic but if I don't get a good fertilisation rate they may well go for day 3.

@Beherenow32 you'll be fine. I've found it easier the second time. Not sure how many rounds you have had but hopefully each one gets easier to cope with xxx

PonyPals · 26/04/2018 12:56

Oh @Janefx40 I have everything crossed for you!

PonyPals · 26/04/2018 12:57

@Winnie56 so exciting. Congratulations Smile
@Beherenow32 when will you begin?

Hoppy1985 · 26/04/2018 14:18

@Janefx40 that's still really good Jane, I'm sure there are some little troopers in there.

I am feeling particularly down today, I still have red blood (3rd day in a row) and passed what looked like a tiny clot this morning (sorry for TMI). The bleeding isn't heavy and a good way off what would be a period for me. I have had a dull ache on and off the last few days, strangely more prominent at night but not what I would really describe as cramping. However my scan is Monday and I am just so worried about going and there being nothing there.

Do you think I should do another test? I don't know if your HCG levels remain high enough to show a positive even if you're miscarrying?

Liverpool19 · 26/04/2018 14:25

hoppy during my two week wait I had two small clots. I rang the hospital and they told me not to worry. I would if I was you ring the hospital and see if you can go in tomorrow. I feel things more of a nighttime also. My friend misscarried but and her lines got lighter but I personally wouldn’t recommend doing one as you’ll drive yourself insane trying to work out if the line is lighter or darker. Your eyes will play tricks on you. Give the hospital a call xx

Hoppy1985 · 26/04/2018 14:34

@Liverpool19 think is I rang the hospital the day before yesterday when it started, explained I had spotting from the start but that the colour has become redder the past couple of days. She asked if I had bad cramp to which I said no (I have had no discomfort at all today) and she said it was probably nothing to worry about. So I don't feel like they'll tell me anything else because I can't tell them anything else but I had kind of hoped it would have gone away by now.

It's a 6 hour round trip to the clinic and hubby is away till Sunday.

I'm at work and can't concentrate!

Liverpool19 · 26/04/2018 14:51

Do you have an early pregnancy unit you can go to? If you’ve got no pains and it’s not getting heavier then I’d like to think it’s nothing to worry over. I think it’s dinks who has had quite a bit of bleeding throughout her pregnancy? And everything is fine. I was terrified when I seen my clots and was convinced it was all over so I understand your worry. Xx

Hoppy1985 · 26/04/2018 15:39

@Liverpool19 I hope you're right and that it's just part and parcel rather than what your mind automatically thinks

Janefx40 · 26/04/2018 17:11

@Hoppy1985 you poor thing. You must be so understandably anxious. Even heavy blood doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. But there's really no way to know. Must be agonising to just wait. I think at this point a pregnancy test should be positive either way. Not sure what the best way forwards is but thinking of you, hoping for good things and sending lots of love

Xxx

dinksandbinks · 26/04/2018 17:33

Hi @Liverpool19 and @Hoppy1985,

It was me that had a lot of bleeding. Mine always started pink, went brown, then bright red then back to brown after a day or two. I also had cramps for the first two episodes, but then the next couple I just had the bleeding, no cramps.

I never got an explanation for mine. The most likely explanation was breakthrough bleeding - essentially my body was still convinced I was ovulating and therefore had periods. Looking at th frequency the bleeds were between 4 and 6 weeks apart so I guess it could be that.

I hope it’s the same for you, Hoppy, and it’s just “one of those mysteries”. I have everything crossed for you!

P.s. I am still lurking and watching to see how you’re all getting on!! Sending love and luck to everyone xxx

dinksandbinks · 26/04/2018 17:37

P.P.S. Definitely don’t test. The variation between tests is huge, the colour will vary by batches, so may be no comparison to previous tests.

P.P.P.S. I would second EPAU if you’re worried. They will probably try and tell you “chances are it will be fine” but it’s up to you whether a weekend of worrying is acceptable.

I totally understand how grim it is, bleeding and not knowing. Sending love xxx

Elly1685 · 26/04/2018 18:38

@winnie it’s looking like really positive news for you Smile congratulations! How many transfers have you had or is this your first?

@hoppy what a worry for you. Just try and rest. I hope everything turns out ok for you. Sorry I can’t offer any better advice.

@jane well done on your EC you should
Feel pleased that you got 8! That’s an amazing amount! 🤞🏻Fingers crossed They fertilise nicely

So I’m currently 2dp5dt, feeling quite chilled. Keeping busy in work. My poor Dh seems to be struggling more than me. I’ve had a few twinges and cramping today like period pains but I’m keeping a sensible head on and putting it down to my body recovering from EC or side effects of the progesterone. Not going to tell DH about any symptoms yet as don’t want him to become more anxious or pin his hopes on everything. I’m sure our roles will swap as the week progresses Grin

@hoppy try not to worry yourself too much (easier said than done, I know!)

Elly1685 · 26/04/2018 18:39

Whoops I typed a message to you hoppy and it disappeared ... so I typed it again ... just seen it was at the bottom of my post! I’m slowly losing the plot!!

Hoppy1985 · 26/04/2018 18:45

@Liverpool19 @Janefx40 @dinksandbinks @Elly1685 thanks ladies. I'm going to try and think positive. Hubby said to not worry about it and he's read lots of places that it doesn't necessarily mean anything so I've decided to stay positive and hold out for scan on Monday so hopefully all will be ok but if not he will be with me.

Beherenow32 · 26/04/2018 21:38

@janefx40 how are you feeling? This will be my 3rd fresh round. And I’ve had one frozen. I just wish I could have done something to help egg quality. But the hospital says there isn’t anything I can do.... I’m sitting here thinking of making a salad, worrying I’m not eating healthy enough?!?

@Ponypals I will phone the Hospital when my period starts in May. For June treatment. Where are you in the process?

Beherenow32 · 26/04/2018 21:49

Ok, I’m crazy! In bed eating a plate full of fruit and veg 🙄🙄

Janefx40 · 27/04/2018 16:46

So the clinic screwed up. They "forgot" to give me estrogen pills to take which I now need due to the Burserelin. But when I went in to get the prescription, it turns out they also "forgot" to give me a vital hcg injection so there's no point going ahead to transfer.

I'm not sure I have any words at the moment for how I feel.

Liverpool19 · 27/04/2018 17:12

Oh my god jane that is awful!!! I don’t even know what to say to you or how you must be feeling right now. I’m so shocked at how they can forget things like that!!! I really hope you are ok. (I know you won’t be) xx

Hoppy1985 · 27/04/2018 17:16

@Janefx40 that is really shocking. I am so so sorry for you. All that physical crap you're putting your body through and all that emotional stress and they just forget. That is just awful. Massive hugs xx

Starlumiere · 27/04/2018 17:24

@Janefx40 I am terribly sorry to hear what just happened to you. Are you ok sweetie? Do they have a Plan B?

@Dinks&Binks how nice to hear from you!

Hi and good luck everybody else!
