@Janefx40 I love your attitude! Are you planning to do it again or will you take a break from it all? XXX

Janefx40 · 05/02/2018 12:26

Thanks @Starlumiere half of me would go again tomorrow if I could, other half of me glad of a break. We will definitely be going again in April. We keep marching on (but one day it would be nice to get a BFP and stop marching!)

Aliona19 · 05/02/2018 12:30

Jane I am sorry it didn’t work out this time 😔 but stay positive. It’s like first pancakes, always messed up. Another try will be perfect!! It has to be! Loads of love xxx

Dbear I know they can’t fire you if u pregnant but that’s the thing about probation period. They can let you go on short notice. They can easily say “u not good enough” and problem solved. So I am hoping if it works-the nausea will be manageable. Good luck for your transfer girl!! You worked really hard for it, so fingers crossed. And yes!! Have a bath!! That’s something I will be missing more than wine 😅

Love to all xx

Minster2012 · 05/02/2018 16:15

So sorry for you jane, have a hot bath and lots of wine! And gin, and anything else you and DH fancy for that matter. It’s shit but we are here xx

rose it’s awesome that your step children are excited and work know now that’s fab! And yeah it does become real doesn’t it! Good though!

dbear it’s nearly here, we were really scared about our embryo (then the second one) dying in the thaw, then if it didn’t, that it wouldn’t then start to divide again, it’s such a stressful time. Explaining it to ppl now it seems surreal, but you just gotta stay positive and hope, we have everything crossed it goes smoothly xx

aliona it’s understandable and you’ve done the right thing so long as you are doing a good job & they are happy that’s it right?

Horatio & Darren, my DH would probably suggest those!! We have randomly found a name we both like but we now need to try it on for side shouting it around rooms, I keep shouting it on dog walks to see how it sounds out loud (the dogs already think I’m crazy!) but we aren’t convinced!

Hello to the new ladies!! 😁

dinksandbinks · 05/02/2018 20:26

Jane I’m so sorry about the negative :( It’s shit but the fact there is some HCG is at least something your clinic can learn from, and they know a lot more about you and your cycle and response for next time - IVF is so sensitive to tiny things. CakeFlowers for you. And super hot bath, with extra bubbles!!

Dbear good luck for tomorrow! I have everything crossed for you.

Janefx40 · 05/02/2018 21:16

@Dbear35 good luck tomorrow! Hope it goes well. I love Friends - I used to regularly watch it start to finish - what a great idea to keep you happy during 2WW.

Sending lots of love and good thoughts...

Minster2012 · 06/02/2018 09:09

@dbear35 good luck!!! Have a lovely lunch and afternoon afterwards and rest up!

RoseWrites · 06/02/2018 09:39

Good luck @dbear35! :) xx

dinksandbinks · 06/02/2018 10:59

Morning all,

Just a quick update as I’m at work. 20 week scan was fine, all looks ok. Thankfully didn’t have the stupid doctor again, but did have another junior doctor who couldn’t answer my questions and rolled out a load of policy nonsense, and couldn’t answer when I asked about the strength of the evidence Hmm

On the plus side we found out the sex and we’re having...... A BOY!!! So like Minster I will end up with pee in my face. The name arguments have started ;) Feels very real now. No pictures as he had his hands over his face most of the time! Will need to go for a private scan for pics I think!

Hope everyone is ok today. Jane hope you’re feeling ok after a hot bath and a drink last night. Dbear Fingers crossed for you today.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Janefx40 · 06/02/2018 11:37

@dinksandbinks A boy a boy!!! So exciting! We're having 2 little boys on this thread! Congrats and so pleased.

I'm the same - basically fine with a few moments of sadness. But I still can't drink or have a bloody bath because they are still testing me to see what happens with this low hcg level!!! Technically it could still go up so I am holding off and still on meds for now. I've read about it tho and even if it did increase and become a pregnancy it would almost definitely end in a miscarriage. It's only 5 which most places class as a negative anyway!

Anyway forget about me. Today is about @Dbear35 transfer and Baby boys!!!

Xxx

PonyPals · 06/02/2018 11:48

Thank you! It's great to hear some positive outcomes.
Can I ask where is everyone on their journey?
I am just taking proganova to bring on AF before I start taking the next lot of drugs prior to the transfer.

Starlumiere · 06/02/2018 13:01

@Dinksandbings whoop whoop another boy!!!! Congratulations!!! I am so delighted for you 😘🌟❤️

@Janefx40 give yourself some time sweetie, this journey is challenging. Glad to hear you are planning to do another in April. In the meantime enjoy your freedom! 😘😘😘

@PonyPals welcome sweetie! I am starting on the second day of my next period, in 20 days or so, on a short protocol. Done an ICSI round already back in November. 2 embies in, got by BFP, both implanted but miscarried at 6 weeks. Just got my prescription so will get my meds this weekend. EC planned for the week of the 12th of March.

@Dbear can’t wait to hear from you sweetie!! 💕🙏🏻🍀🌟💫✨😘😘😘

I am at home with a viral infection watching stupid films 😬. This viral infection is awful I thought I was having a heart attack!!! 😂😂😂😂

So my period came last week while I was in Italy and I felt really awful, never ever had such terrible menstruations, which I am sure is related to the miscarriage and the rest. Anyway I have survived it and feeling very positive for the next round.

I have a Reflexology appointment tonight and Acupuncture on Friday evening.

2 boys and a wedding yeahhhh!!!! 💫✨🎉

Love to all,
😘😘😘

Liverpool19 · 06/02/2018 17:29

jane sorry to hear about your news!! I hold you are ok.
minister congratulations on the baby boy news 💙
I have my drug appointment a week today along with the catheter test and start my northestsrine the day after. Currently waiting for my drugs to arrive 😂

X

Liverpool19 · 06/02/2018 17:32

dinks congratulations! Another boy 💙
star hope you feel better soon!
And pony welcome to this crazy journey we have found ourselves on!

Sarsparella · 06/02/2018 17:42

Hello, I'm late to join in, I was on the other thread for our first round of IVF that failed in Nov and we just finished round 2...

I was convinced it wasn't going to work so I've somehow lost my MN log in and didn't want to even mention it but quite unbelievably I did a test on Sunday and got a BFP Shock

Obviously very early days, DH is refusing to get too excited until we go for the scan on the 28th, which is totally understandable.... I don't feel any different whatsoever and keep thinking maybe I should do another test? I did two but it doesn't feel real at all.

5 years of trying, I'm 40 this month, I'd given up all hope in all honesty... just praying it works out :)

Aliona19 · 06/02/2018 18:45

Evening beautiful people ❤️

Dinks Congratulations. How amazing is that. Time really goes so fast. So happy it’s all going well 😍😍

Jane hope you having your nose up and feeling ok about things. It can only get better xx

Hi PonyPals 👋🏼 I am on progynova and burselin and waiting for my fet in about 2 weeks or so 😊

Sarsparella Congratulations :) You just an example of how things can get better. And that we should never give up ❤️

Janeyleanne · 06/02/2018 20:20

Hi All....
need some help and advice if that is ok.... I'm currently in the 2 week wait post embryo transfer and i'm starting to get cramps and stomach pain as if i'm about to start my period.
Is this a bad sign? i don't know if its all in my head! I am conscious i could be overthinking it..... any help or advice would be great
Thanks in advance..... .Jane

Minster2012 · 07/02/2018 13:47

Hello everyone!!

@dbear35 I hope it went well yesterday, thinking sticky thoughts for you!!

dinks that’s brilliant!! Another boy! Wooooooo awesome! 😁😍💙💙

sarsparella welcome and congrats! Fingers crossed!! My DH & I we’re the same, didn’t really believe it, but we (with my best friend who is our surrogate) waited the full 2weeks so it was true!! Go with it because it’s not taking it for granted, but take if yourself that’s all xx

star sorry to hear you have a rubbish infection, hope it clears soon

aliona do you know when in 2 weeks your FET IS?

pony hi!! Welcome, my best friend is nearly 16 weeks pregnant with our little miracle boy as I have ongoing cancer treatment. I am going to hopefully start stims again to do some more embryo freezing soon as last year we only got 2 embryos (one growing healthily in friend!) one infreezer, as I don’t have many eggs due to damaged fertility from my treatment. I am having a treatment break due to other illness so we might as well use it to try & get some more as ive been told by my consultant I can’t get another break. I have to wait for my cancer treatment to be out of system to start IVF drugs so should be mid March.

On another note I’m self funding this round as my friend is pregnant so our NHS worked (though I only got my side of things paid for not FET into her as surrogacy not supported by NHS) and I thought I read from other people that the EC side of things cost around £1500. Ours is £3500 plus medication of around £1500 which is bloody expensive then another £1300 for FET plus admin charges of c£80 constantly & each time you go in for consultation it’s £150 and storage costs.. I know IVF is expensive but I was hoping not for all the admin charges and a bit less overall maybe? We’re only doing it because we only have one left out of 2 originally. I wish we got more to start with & didn’t have to do it 😕🤨

Janefx40 · 07/02/2018 14:03

Hi @Minster2012 I'm at ARGC in London. It says on their website that they do free egg collection and storage for women undergoing cancer treatment. I'm not sure if this extends to embryology and freezing as well as transfer. Plus they are quite pricey so could work out more in the end anyway. And I don't think you are in London. But it may be worth checking it out at least?

Dbear35 · 07/02/2018 14:15

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the delay, 🙋🏼‍♀️To all the newbies on here !

dinks a little boy how lovely we have 2 blues 💙💙on the thread yay!

jane you have the right attitude, glad your taking some time out for yourself before you go for the next cycle. We did that and it was the right thing to do, to reconnect with your OH and enjoy the things you couldn’t do. Thinking of you xx

star I hope your viral infection is easing up and that the relexology and acupuncture give you some pampering😘

Thank you all so much for all your good luck messages for yesterday 😘😘so appreciate it. Honestly I was a nerouvs wreck up until my pre transfer acupuncture, that Chilled me out no end.

Transfer went as well as it could embie thawed all ok and we ended up with a grade 4AB 5 day blast (see attached). It want hatching like our first one but the consultant and embryologist were happy 😊.

I didn’t really get any cramping or twitches like I did last time which concerns me but my acupunturist said that’s nothing to be concerned about. 🤷🏼‍♀️Who knows !

Now to tackle the TWW im trying to stay off social media as it’s too easy to google and compare yourself to others (easier said than done) . I give myself 1 day! Lol

Currently on bed rest today and possibly tomorrow I’m bored already and looking at the sunshine just makes me want to go for a walk.

Instead I’ll carry on with the friends box set.

Much love to all!

XxX

Thanks for the advice janefx40 i’ll certainly give them a call but I suspect it’s like my current clinic and my oncologists in that my current treatment doesn’t meet the criteria for referral for free egg harvesting which is what god me in this mess in the first place, I’ve always been in band spanking new immunotherapy treatments since I was 26, where there is no evidence that it affects your fertility (unlike ‘normal’ chemo & radiation), so though I asked at the time (my eggs would have been AMAZING THEN!!) I was told I didn’t qualify & there was no need, same reply 3gears who before my current treatment.

Unfortunately I now can’t stop my current treatment which has given me a lifeline as I’m now “too well to qualify for it again” so if I stop then I have to pay privately (£5916 every 3 weeks) and yet was again told it didn’t qualify for egg harvesting. I was also told I could have a break at any point to do IVF then found out that wasn’t true. Hence I managed to get one break for our IVF last year to get embryos but can’t carry a child as that would mean I would be stopping and lose my treatment. So I think if it relies on referral from my oncologist then I still can’t get that 😕

Oh yeah and my first round of immunotherapy did screw my fertility as it dropped my cortisol so that was 🤬too so I now have really crap eggs & really low AMH hence only getting 4 eggs in the first place & 2 embryos but I cannot complain that one is now a little growing miracle!! But I am a bit bitter that I think I’ve been screwed by the NHS!!

Sorry rant over!!

janeyleanne I didn’t reply to you....cramps can mean anything really after transfer, try not to read into it too much, symptom spotting is a dangerous game! Xx

Aliona19 · 07/02/2018 17:15

Hey all

Dbear 😊😊 I know rainbow here-colours of pride 😅 but it my country it means something else (see attached picture) so I think the rainbow you saw-was a good sign for you 🙃🙃

Minster I don’t know he date yet. They said 7/10 days from scan on Monday. I am sooo annoyed 😅😅 I asked for more needles and they gave it to me (I should have learned by now but..) anyway, I am one needle short to last till Monday 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Been to few pharmacies and none have same size needle. Don’t know if different one will be ok.. hate the idea of going to hospital for one bloody needle 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also looked like weirdo asking “do you sell needles??!”

Well done @Dbear35 good work. Your blast looks lovely! Can't believe you guys get pictures...so nice to have.

@Aliona19 how irritating to be one needle short! I'd post you some but have left them all in London and now heading back to where we usually live in Hertfordshire.

So tired. Bit worried am going to get a monster migraine. In a natural cycle I get a migraine when my progesterone levels go down. My levels of supplements have been 3 times normal ones so looking forward to seeing what happens now I've stopped them!

Aliona19 · 09/02/2018 20:36

How’s everyone?!

Jane how r u? Did you manage to dodge the headache?

Dbear sending you loads of love. Chin up and believe xxx

I didn’t want to go to hospital to get my needle thinking I am gonna waste my time and money for travel.. so pharmacy had insulin needles that matched my size.. but I spend 2738585 hours there waiting for it and ended up paying 5£ 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Great saving. What a moron I am
