Thanks gin I’m pleased! It’s really good we all have different stories and journeys but can learn from each other, I’d never heard of PCOS before exploring IVF and had no idea it was prevalent for so many ladies.

Yes sorry star I knew it would be upsetting for you but the shooting season (winter) is a large part of our lives, & I do a bit myself so I went on my first “proper driven day” on my own with one of my DSIL on Tuesday whilst DH shot with his dad somewhere else. We eat the meat (pheasant fajitas on Tuesday!) & I use the feathers to decorate stuff if I can but often they get wasted 😕. I know a lot of ppl disagree with it. Different lifestyles we all have 😁💕

That little Russian dog is gorgeous!! Do they know you are pregnant & looking after you star???

Aliona19 · 23/12/2017 13:41

Lol Star we just debating with my friend to go to winter wonderland or just settle in local pub 🤔🤔 something tell me pub will win. Shopping went ok, we ended up there at midnight so mainly had to fight staff with trolleys 😅 tight squeeze. On the plus side we got everything super fresh from pallets 😬
Lol your Russian dog (the only Russian dog I know is Black Russian terrier and that’s not the case) she looks more like snack for my puppy 😈😈😈😈😈 and she keeps howling to every police/amb car today.

Minster I don’t know where u get ideas for all this 😅 you make me feel like a big talantless looser 😅😂 and although I love meet-I feel bad for a week if I step on he ant by accident 😂 so I will be useless at hunting season.

Gin all the worries are understandable but no matter what-it will all works out just the way it should be x

Starlumiere · 23/12/2017 18:29

Minster- yes they do know sweetie! Please don't apologies, each to their own and a lot of my friends do shoot 😘

Aliona glad your shopping is done! The pub? I know who is going to have a headache tomorrow. The dog is. Ponorenian and we have 2 others! Will send pictures 😘

Hi everyone!!

How the heck is it 23rd December??? Today we decided it would be a greaaaat idea to go to Waitrose to pick up a few things for Christmas lunch. Good grief. I don’t think I’ll be going back for a while (but of course we forgot something so we will be going back, tomorrow).

I’ve been feeling really ill this week :( Ended up back at the GP for more drugs.

In my latest bump update we got the combined screening tests back, and are 1 in 80,000 for Edwards and Pateau syndromes, but 1 in 200 for Downs. Technically that means lower risk, but it’s higher than I expected. I’m slightly tempted to go for a private NIPT to see what the actual odds are... only downside is it’s around £350 😮 What would you guys do?

Minster Glad to hear your tumours are still under control, and exciting that you might have another go at freezing!! How’s your friend doing? Your table decorations look fabulous! And this is why I don’t mind some shooting, but I hate mass produced meat. You use all the pheasant, yes you shot it but it’s all been used and you only take what you need. I get much sadder about factory farming poor meat animals :( Anyhoo. I am SO excited to hear how your reveal goes!!

Aliona Yay for passport!!! I’m so glad it got here and you get to go away for a few days. And thank heavens the clinic finally called you!! How is puppy doing? One of my cats gets bladder infections all the time, we have her on a special diet to control it and it works really well. Maybe it works for dogs too?

Star I’m glad you’re feeling better, and resting!! Hope your in laws take extra special care of you. Do they know?

Gin Incredible story! I can imagine it must be frustrating waiting such a long time though. I have PCOS too, and only one tube, hence why we IVF-ed. In my experience I got 24 eggs but they were fairly crappy quality and only 2 fertilised and developed properly. My advice is to look at things you can do to help your eggs - there’s a book called “It starts with the egg”. PCOS ladies are very sensitive to sugar and carbs, so once you have a start date I’d cut those out as much as possible, and definitely alcohol too. That’s certainly what I’ll do if we try again - hindsight is a wonderful thing!!

Dbear How are you doing? I’m sorry I don’t remember where you’re up to!!

Rose Nice to hear from you! How are you feeling?

Atik Try not to worry, I’ve not had one day where I’ve felt the same. My symptoms, cramps and everything change on a very regular basis! (Except for the flipping nausea lol).

Ummmm I have run out of memory and can’t remember who else I need to say Hi to. I definitely have early onset baby brain.

Back to bed for a bit... feeling really sick and think a nap might help.

If I don’t get back on before Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful time! Lots of love!! ❄️❤️❄️❤️❄️❤️❄️❤️🎄🎄🎄

dinksandbinks · 23/12/2017 18:45

P.S. Star your dogs are gorgeous!! Everyone here makes me really want a dog, so many lovely puppies!!

Aliona19 · 23/12/2017 20:36

Hey Dinks
I hate Waitrose 😂😂 but often have to go there as it’s across the road but my god people are slow there. I need councelling after each visit 😅
Don’t know about diet for dog 🤔 when I asked vet what can be causing this he just suggested to walk her more often 😤😤 the pills she got this time not strong and I don’t feel like they working..
As for testing I personally would..and what kind of result is that 1 in 200 for down s.. I thought they can be more specific. Or that’s the test u r talking about? But I would definitely check ❤️

Star ha no headaches, I am a good girl and only had one pint 🙃 and i still don’t get it what Russian about this dog 😂😂

Dbear35 · 23/12/2017 21:11

Hi lovely ladies👋🏻

Ginandtonic31 · 23/12/2017 21:12

@dinksandbinks luckily the PCOS is very mild, to the point where the dr really didn't want to diagnose it but said he should really, I have one ovary still performing as normal so have fairly regularly periods, so he said he had no concerns about our egg collection. etc. I don't really eat carbs anyway, but I'll have to drink right up to the point I'm told not to as I can't not GinGrin

Dbear35 · 23/12/2017 21:16

Doh pressed post to early!

I have my meds and I start injecting 27th dec and all things going well I’ll have my FET on Feb 1st 🤞🏻

Much Christmas love to you all!! 🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻⛄️XxxxX

Minster2012 · 23/12/2017 22:31

star those dogs are gorgeous!

dinks, the testing is something we have discussed with my friend along with her feelings on aborting a child based on it because in surrogacy as part of an agreement u need to consider both, like if she were against abortion then testing cane back & we didn’t want to continue but she’s pregnant the child is legally her responsibility. So anyway we discussed it all in depth before esp cos of me too, we have decided that if anything comes back as a higher risk of a child needing extra care then we will investigate further & decide from there. We personally feel it would be v hard to have a child with a greater risk of disability when we know that I have a v high risk of being v dependant on DH (& we have 2 dogs & it was a factor in getting a large breed puppy too) if I get sick who looks after dogs/child/ disabled child?? So we have decided that cos of my high risk & care factors for the future then we would want to avoid it. My friend, especially as a nurse, agrees.

However, if, you are dead against abortion & think what you’ve been through to get here, & don’t forget the test carries greater risks too to the foetus & think that 90% u wouldn’t let results change your mind then no I wouldn’t do the test. It all depends on your circumstances, your beliefs, your support, your set up, your family history, lots, along with chance. If we were in your shoes we will investigate further. Sorry I thought it deserved my full explanation as we were also discussing it more after we booked our 12 week scan the other day too so it came up again

dbear that’s close 1st Feb that will go no time!! 😁

Starlumiere · 24/12/2017 10:40

Minster2012 · 24/12/2017 21:35

Aliona you will be fine with needles!!

Am sat here with DH, stringing garlands of dried apples and oranges I dried out during our 2ww to keep me busy! Finally watching Paddington in a lovely Christmas Eve glow, I hope everyone gets to feel this way, we know we are fortunate, and at 9 weeks it’s still early but today and recently DH has been saying things like “god I can’t believe this time next year!! And of my god I’m going to be a dad, I’m actually starting to believe it now” and it’s great.

Love to all, happy Christmas and we will support each other 😞💕😁🎄🎄 xxxx

Aliona19 · 27/12/2017 13:36

Come on @Minster tell us how did it go! 🙃

RoseWrites · 27/12/2017 14:19

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas? :)

Just a flying visit as I have my first midwife appointment in half an hour.

Dinks I just want to say, we are definitely having the test. If it's the £350/£400, I'm guessing it's the harmony/nipt where they just take your blood and there is zero risk to the baby? A friend of mine had a few miscarriage and got it done and felt so reassured after the results as it's over 99% accurate. As you're low risk, it will probably put your mind at ease. I know it's a lot of money, but I don't think you can put a price on knowing what is happening and feeling rest assured. My friend found it a bit cheaper (£299) - I'll get the link from her and send it to you :)

Xx

Dbear35 · 27/12/2017 18:34

Lol Dbear puppy clearly loves us 😂 she had bath today too (absolutely terrified of water), so I am worried she is gonna kill us tonight 😅
How much u injecting? I am 0.5.. do u have to take progynova after as well? Coz I do.. but before EC I took progynova first of all. I am confused..

MINSTER!!!!!! We r dying here.

Dbear35 · 27/12/2017 19:04

Ha ha aliona she certainly is a character 😂the DH and I are going to get a puppy in the new year (finally wore him down!) lol

Yes injecting 0.5 for 2 wks then have a scan and reduce to 0.25 then I take prognova I’ve never had it before wasn’t given it for EC 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s seems everywhere is a little different! I’m easily confused too! lol

When do you start your injections?

gingerclementine · 27/12/2017 19:20

Good luck to you all. I did five years of IVF. DH said we had to stop after one final try and we got twins. Best thing I ever did in my life was IVF. I hope it's as good for you. Even now, 15 years later I still think most days how lucky we were to be successful and i still think of the medical teams who helped us on the way.

Aliona19 · 27/12/2017 19:21

Dbear ah well if u taking it after injections so I probably doing same thing too. I am starting on 9th, yet to have a phone call from people who deliver drugs, they better hurry up and call me 😤
A puppy yay how exciting 😍😍😍 if only I had an opportunity lol I would have 1028394737362785 dogs

Starlumiere · 27/12/2017 19:47

Good evening ladies!!

Dbear Yippiee it is all starting for you!!! I wish you the very best with all of it sweetie 😘😘😘

Aliona soon your turn as well yeahhhh!!!

Gingerclementine thank you for sharing your experience, it will s encouraging 😁. Twins? How wonderful!! Bless you !!! They put 2 embies in me on the 30th of November and both took, but I had a bit of spotting and today more of a bleed still now and I am saddened but the thought of what it could mean tomorrow for my scan. I had a good cry, but I know I can't do anything apart from waiting to see. I will be fine 😁🌟✨💫

Minster I can't wait to hear from you!!!

Dunks and Rose - lots of love to you an Dinks let us know how the Midwife appointment went!!!!

Love to all,
😘😘😘

Minster2012 · 27/12/2017 19:50

HELLO!! happy 🎄! I’m here! Sorry! Hope u all had a great time!

dbear you’ve started! Woooooo 👍🏻❄️🐣go injections! aliona all clucked/clinic’s seem to be different, I don’t think I’ve ever found one the same drug way as ours so seems each to their own! Roll on dry Jan dbear hope you enjoyed the bubbles!!

So yeah, we told everyone there on Xmas day, plus surviving cooking for 13 adults (weirdly v organised thanks to my prep thank god!) ppl turning up early when they said they were going to be Kate so I changed serving time then coming early! acting normal til reveal & not drinking my weight in gin til after!! Don’t know how! 🙈🙈😁

But I made homemade crackers with gifts in, place settings, & after the main where already 6 bottles of wine down between 10 of us drinking (around 3.30pm) I managed to get my iPad mini slyly set up on our island to try & video it to & it worked!

So I made homemade scratch cards as in DH’s family every Xmas each person is given a lottery scratch card & yet we’ve never won anything so I introduced it as “there’s a tradition on DH’s side for Xmas scratch cards, but we’ve never won, so I made our own” so here u go, get your reading glasses out! There was a “prize board” that went with it with different symbols on it for different ppl which were revealed under the panels like my parents had one that corresponded on the board to a symbol saying “jackpot- 1st grandchild”.

But because they had no idea and weren’t expecting it for us and thought we couldn’t have kids it took so long for the penny to drop!! 🙈🙈 until one of DH’s brothers said, well someone’s pregnant, & his sister went “well I’m not so Minster must be” & my DH has to say “well she’s not but her friend is for us with our child” she offered to be a surrogate. Then my parents & me & everyone just started crying & jumping up!

I’ve never cried so much! In happiness. We explained it all and everyone is so happy, think it’s so amazing. I think my parents might burst with happiness and have heart attacks, & were scared. The video shows my dad put his face in a napkin for 5 mins in disbelief & happy tears!

They are all sworn to secrecy but we’ve spent the past 2 days explaining the past 2 years to them but everyone is so over the moon and it’s brilliant to talk to ppl! We are so happy! Can’t ask for better reaction 😁😁😁😁
