Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

Many thanks, HWF4.

Ok good to know, thanks for sharing the types of tests. Great news for you that it's all looking very very good. Wishing you the best as AF arrives, and countdown to starting your upcoming cycle!

Hi bee and hwf4. So pleased to see the thread back active again - I've been going a bit barmy in this limbo land since my cycle failed in July. Due to a long haul flight in November we have decided not to start of third cycle (a FET) until we're back (VW don't like you to fly in first 3 months) so we'll start downregging end of Nov for FET early Jan. Seems aaaaages away but I'm trying focus on losing some TTC weight. Glad you guys are getting going again! Bee are you doing anything different this time?

Thanks for the well wishes @BeePositive still here watching from afar! Wishing you lots of luck for your new fresh cycle. Fingers crossed it's your last!

Hi all

I've been avoiding all forums & social media during my 2ww in hope it'll help but nope it's still constant symptoms spotting and knicker watch!! OTD is tomorrow but after a random dream, and wanting to just know I tested this morning and to our utter shock and surprise we're pregnant!!!! I'm still shaking every time I talk or think about it!! Not telling parents until I've called VW tomorrow, but does anyone know how many weeks I'll be before they scan? We are cautiously happy as we've had a missed miscarriage before which was only found at the 8 week scan so the worries really never leave you even after such positive news! So keeping our fingers crossed for a good scan result.

This was our 3rd fet, the things I did differently this time was loose the IVF weight I'd put on (11lbs), had the endoscratch, high dose of vitD, baby aspirin from when I started the progynova but made sure I took it with at least an hour before or after any other vits or meds. Ate healthier using Emma Cannon Fertile book, as well as the usual fertility vitamins. Also doubled my folic acid intake too. VW didn't say to do anything different but felt I had to. Who knows if any of it helped.

That's great to hear you're starting soon @ HWF4 Wish you all the very best.

Got my fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky for you @ BeePositive Are you doing anything different on your next cycle?

How are you @geeup? When's your holiday? Where are you off too?

@NorthSouth85 How are you? Hope your scan went well.

Xxx

geeup · 08/10/2017 16:06

Oh my god @Hopeful4ivf that's amazing!!! Congratulations!!! I'm going to try your whole list Blush

OP posts:
Hopeful4ivf · 08/10/2017 17:32

Might as well give it a try @geeup , not like any of it will do an harm and at least you know you did something different to your previous cycles. That's how I felt, the last 2 were same and even though vw didn't think we needed change I felt for my peace of mind I needed to feel as though I did something
Just gotta hope my lil beans keep growing and sticky, still feeling surreal

Hopeful4ivf · 08/10/2017 17:33

Just need to know when to stop baby aspirin now....I'll ask at scan

Hopeful4ivf · 08/10/2017 17:48

@geeup Just remembered the other thing I did differently was have lucky MacD fries after transfer!!!

Flamingo44 · 08/10/2017 17:54

Huge congratulations @Hopeful4ivf that's great news. I understand that you're cautious though, I'm still quite cautiously excited at 18.5 weeks! You just never know. If it's any help I had my viability scan at 6w6d. They'll book you in when you call up tomorrow to share the good news! Congrats again and wishing you all the best for the next 8 months or so!

Hopeful4ivf · 08/10/2017 18:23

Thank you @flamingo44 I don't think the worries or nerves will ever go away will they? But very grateful to be in this position. Thanks for info on scan, I need to work out if my meds will last me long enough. Hope so as I don't fancy going back in between now and scan.

Hope your well, are you finding out gender? X

Flamingo44 · 08/10/2017 18:47

No I think not! But like you I'm truly grateful too so try to remember that always! I'm feeling well thank you. We've decided not to find out the gender so will have a surprise in March! You should be around 4 weeks tomorrow I think so you need enough mess to last around 3 more weeks? Might be different for a FET though. Good luck!

Hopeful4ivf · 08/10/2017 19:48

I'm already 4 wks 2days Grin not that I've already looked up possible due date!!! Haha...I've decided (hubs will have to agree!) but if it's twins we'll find out gender but if a singleton wait for a surprise. I do believe that's the most exciting part when someone goes into labour guessing what they'll have. But if twins we will definitely need to be organised x

geeup · 09/10/2017 13:59

@Hopeful4ivf how much folic acid did you take? And are you average bmi if you don't mind me asking? I'm taking Zita west Vitafem which has 400micrograms but wonder if I need to take another pill on top to add more folic acid?

BeePositive · 09/10/2017 14:27

Firstly huge congratulations hopeful4ivf! Such happy news. Please keep us updated like flamingo44 on how you're getting on. Take care and best wishes.

Hopeful4ivf · 09/10/2017 14:28

@geeup I took my usual preconception pregnancare, plus extra 400 folic acid(from Aldi), high dose vit c(but always taken this), vit e just from wilko, omega 3 which Mr Brooks recommended when we first saw him and high dose vit d. Also remembered last night the other thing I did differently in run up to transfer was to have a 20min weekly bath in Epsom salts. And just my usual keep feet & tummy warm, drink pom juice to thicken lining and pineapple 5 days from ET, acupuncture weekly and lots of water... I was 27bmi which made me 'overweight' which was ridiculous but got down to 24.6 by time of transfer which got me just into healthy, although I doubt I'm that still! Lol
Phoned vw and booked for scan on 27th, which is when I'll be 7 weeks. Couldn't see me sooner as they are so busy but I'm fine with that, want there to be something to see and no additional stress like we had before.
Best of luck to you, really hoping this is your time!! X

Hopeful4ivf · 09/10/2017 14:28

Thanks @BeePositive

All the very best to you too! X

BeePositive · 09/10/2017 14:33

Thanks geeup. So... what I'm doing different this 3rd cycle is... I've stopped taking Pregnacare capsules. I've been taking them on/off for 3-4 years now, and they are so expensive. I decided to introduce other things, and drop these. I'm taking Zita West VitalDHA capsules. I've started taking Maca Powder (past 2 weeks). I will start taking Aspirin (75) later in my IVF cycle. And I continue to religiously take Folate (400). This time I had the scratch for the first time too. And I'm going to have EmbryoGen on embryo transfer. I have a bicornuate uterus, so they will unfortunately only transfer one back each cycle. I know you're hoping to transfer 2 back come next cycle?

BeePositive · 09/10/2017 14:37

I also take Vitamin D spray.

BeePositive · 09/10/2017 14:38

Geeup, I also meant to mention, I had a holiday with long haul flight booked in August (to a Zika Virus potential location) so Victoria Wing would not let me do a cycle after my 2nd FET failed in April. So I know the feeling of a LOOONG wait too. But after 2x back to back failed cycles earlier this year, it was actually so relieving to be forced to step away from it all for a while, and go and take some time out. And come back refreshed and ready to give this next cycle my full attention. I hope it's the same for you with your upcoming travels in November.

geeup · 09/10/2017 16:13

Thanks @Hopeful4ivf and @BeePositive I've made my list from what you've said - I'm doing some of it but will add a few bits in!
Just did a FRER in the loo on my train up north at 9dpo - BFN obviously. Don't know what's come over me. It's that weird desperation just before I do a cycle that I could have one of those miracle ironidiffs and get pregnant naturally before I start.
Some days I swear I've gone a bit mad.

Hopeful4ivf · 09/10/2017 16:29

Don't feel like that at all @geeup, we've all been there and thought the same, trust me I've definitely hoped for the same as you. Hope you're ok, you've got a lovely holiday and you'll soon be starting up again. I know how long it all feels to get started again, feels like all we do is wait x

BeePositive · 09/10/2017 16:34

I agree with hopeful, this is a cruel waiting game in various stages of the IVF cycle, don't feel crazy (or crazy alone) geeup, we all with ya!

geeup · 09/10/2017 17:02

Thanks ladies. Feeling extra impatient today but it'll pass hopefully.

OP posts:
BeePositive · 09/10/2017 17:33

I also remembered (when taking my 'loot' of drugs), I'm also taking CoQ10 (for the past 2 months to get it into my system. Any one else taking this?

Hopeful4ivf · 09/10/2017 19:52

No but was planning to if I needed to do another fresh cycle.
