We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

I'm waiting to be discharged as apparently the hfea have arrived to investigate.
No reali feedback yet for me on numbers or quality. Feel v awake but was in recovery by 8am!

Street80 · 09/11/2016 13:10

Good news Raeside!!!! Yeah!
beanhunter I hope all goes well as well! I'll keep my fingers cross!

FleurThomas · 09/11/2016 13:26

I've finally been diagnosed with 'silent' pcos after 2 years of trying. On drugs then will def go to IVF if I havent conceived

JustTrixie · 09/11/2016 13:40

That's great Raeside.

Hope you're out of there soon Bean, that is a long time to wait around.

Welcome Fleur!

beanhunter · 09/11/2016 14:16

Am home. 11 from one ovary. Right only had one and they couldn't get it becuase of risk of bleeding. Sperm sample not great today so I guess it's good we are already planned for icsi.

JustTrixie · 09/11/2016 14:34

Great news Bean!
Best of luck to you both with fertilisation results tomorrow.

Raeside · 10/11/2016 10:37

Bad news for me I'm afraid. 1 egg was immature and though the other 4 fertilised they all did do abnormally. A couple looked like they hadn't dumped half their genetic material and the others had more than 2 pronuclei which can happen when more than 2 sperm get in.

Bummer.

Hoping for better luck for you all.

beanhunter · 10/11/2016 10:56

Oh no Rae. I'm so sorry to hear that. Have they any thoughts why? Are they def not recoverable?

Raeside · 10/11/2016 11:00

It just happens sometimes. Got v unlucky. Also I'm old at 42 so good eggs harder to come by though have been working on egg quality all year....Feel bit hard done by the ones 2 sperm invaded!

Will go in and chat it through next week sometime. Fingers crossed for you x

beanhunter · 10/11/2016 11:06

I'm sorry. That's crap.

JustTrixie · 10/11/2016 12:01

I'm so sorry Raeside, how gutting Sad

Bean, I hope things have gone a lot better for you this time.

maplebaby · 10/11/2016 14:12

Oh Rae I'm so sorry Sad that's so shit and I don't have anything I can say to make you feel less crappy Sad

Bean glad things look better for you this time round, hope you get your call re fertilisation soon.

Trixie how did your scan go this morning?

Street can you call to chase up your tuboscopy? I'm unexplained so maybe that's why they got me to do IUI first?

Thank you stealth about IVF not being anything to worry about - I think it helps I've done the jabbing before - hope we get to start sooner than 7 months!

AFM had my scan today, one dominant follicle which was 14mm and one which was 12mm. He was hopeful we would get 2 follicles this time. Just have to get them to grow and for the lining to thicken - back for a scan on Monday.

JustTrixie · 10/11/2016 14:50

Scan went well thanks Maple, all looking good so started on my tablets. Back in next Friday and then should have a date for transfer. Sounds positive for you, good luck for Monday.

beanhunter · 10/11/2016 15:26

Going well thanks. All 10 have fertilised which is a massive suprise so now we wait and see. 3 of the 10 not such good quality and most will need hatching but we are just keeping things crossed. Know there's no guarantees but at least this time I feel there is a chance.

Raeside · 10/11/2016 19:02

Thanks ladies, you're a top crew of people.

Going to enjoy a boozy Xmas and regroup in Jan.

Magic womb wands to you all!!

I'll stay quiet from now on but may lurk to follow your journeys....

Xx

maplebaby · 10/11/2016 20:23

That's great news bean - I'm going to google hatching as I have no idea what it is! When do you hear from them next?

Trixie good news that you can start on the tablets! These are to thicken lining?

Rae look after yourself and MrRae xx

Hope2409 · 10/11/2016 20:43

maple glad yr scan went well and all the best for the next one monday!

trixie good news on your scan too so u can move on to your tablets!

Welcome Fleur!

I have now started stims, had my scan and did my first injection yesterday! Back next week for 2 more scans and bloods then will be going in for EC!

Hello to anyone i have missed, wishing u all the best on your journeys!

Xxx

star1980 · 11/11/2016 13:04

Oh raeside, I'm so sorry to hear that Flowers. Good idea to put treatment off until after Christmas, have a good boozy break and then go again? Do you have any children already?

Congratulations bean! That must be such a relief after last time. Good luck with your updates over the next few days.

Good luck with stims hope.

Hope you're doing well maple and Trixie. Good luck for your fet and iui this cycle. Fingers crossed you'll both have BFPs by Christmas.

Saw my moody consultant yesterday and he's agreed to put me on the list for fibroid surgery. However, he said that my fibroids wouldn't be affecting my fertility due to the location, so there is no need to have surgery before IVF. So I feel confident about going ahead with this cycle now. Shame really as my holiday/wedding is next month so I can't start until my December period (which should be Boxing Day) so just idly waiting trying naturally till then.

Street80 · 11/11/2016 14:20

raeside I'm so sorry... I wish you a very boozy xmas and a lots of positive vibes for January!
bean oh my! I'll keep my fingers cross for you but that sounds good!
fleur welcome! The road is not easy but we are holding each other's hands!
maple I finally had the phone call yesterday! Yeah! I'm having the tuboscopy the 23rd. Then I will have my follow up appointment with the team to see how to go from there. I hope it will go ok and that I can start the IVF as soon as possible... ;) I have to admit my knowledge is still very limited and still trying to learn everything I can without feeling overwhelmed!
Have a lovely day everyone! xx

JustTrixie · 11/11/2016 14:43

Star, glad your appointment went well, hopefully you can relax now. How are the wedding plans going? You must be getting excited.

Raeside, have a brilliant boozy Christmas. Let us know how your follow up goes next week.

Maple, yes, hopefully they are thickening up my lining as I type.

Hope, good to hear you're off the starting blocks. Good luck with your scans next week.

Street, yay for a date for your tuboscopy, not long to wait at all.

JustTrixie · 11/11/2016 14:46

Oops posted too soon! Excellent fertilisation results Bean, must be such a relief after last time.

beanhunter · 11/11/2016 17:01

It was a relief. However I've had a call today saying that although 9 are still going they want to transfer the two clear front runners tomorrow. I'm so confused. They are in the camera so I know that gives them more information but I don't know that I want 2 good day 3's back. I want one good blast.

JustTrixie · 11/11/2016 18:00

That's a tough one Bean....is there any chance of reassessing tomorrow?

beanhunter · 11/11/2016 18:22

That's my plan trixie. I'm going in to see embryologist at 7.30am (my consultant on call for NHS all weekend so can only do an early transfer) and will ask these questions.

bananafish81 · 11/11/2016 18:54

Ladies just to wish you all lots of luck - I'm sorry I've not been posting much, haven't really had anything to say so have just been lurking and following your updates

My first HRT cycle post IUD was a total washout, no bleed, just a bit of spotting

We agreed it was too early to write anything off yet after just one month, and so we added in oestrogen patches for this month on top of the HRT.

But we agreed that if we've still not been able to generate a bleed in 6 months timeax - via whatever combination of drugs we end up trying - that if it's not happened by then, we would have to accept that it's not going to happen.

If we get to that point, it's very unlikely we would try another FET - because if we can't get a decent enough lining to have a bleed, it's not going to be able to propagate and sustain a pregnancy, and it would be folly to waste our precious embryos.

If we do get me to have withdrawal bleeds then we would do a dummy FET with endometrial biopsies. And only then if we were sufficiently confident in the integrity of the oven would we try and put back a frozen bun. If we do get that far, then one more go and then that's it. If we put back another genetically perfect embryo and it fails or I miscarry again, it would be clear that I can't carry

So no FET for me any time in the foreseeable future. Or potentially at all.

So just sat on the bench of boredom cheering you all on from the sidelines x
