We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

bananafish81 · 14/09/2016 08:04

Fab news lucie!! So so hoping this is it for you!!

loopylou1984 · 14/09/2016 08:06

Lucie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been waiting for you to give us the results of another test!!! Congratulations GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I'm so happy for you! If you hadn't guessed!

Did you use a frer? Xx

lucieloos · 14/09/2016 08:21

Aww thanks everyone, you're making me all teary!

Banana, praying it will be you next!

Sammy, yes I used frer both yesterday and today. Will do a digi towards the end of the week. I think I might get betas done this time as well probably early next week. I know they are scary but I just think after last time if I had known something was potentially wrong a lot sooner then it could have saved us weeks of wondering and what ifs.

Can we see a pic? I love a good line pic on this thread!!

Only you know if the betas will stress you out more or help. If you think it will help then go for it. Keeping everything crossed for you. When is OTD? Xx

Lozza398 · 14/09/2016 08:39

Congrats lucie amazing news!

maplebaby · 14/09/2016 08:53

LUCIE!!!! I'm so so thrilled for you! Sending you sticky vibes and a big unmumsnetty hug! Keeping it a secret for a day from us you sneaky thing. Yes, do show us your pee stick!!

Friends of course you are welcome to stick around - I've never had a bfp but I can imagine how much anxiety it can still cause. Keep us updated with progress!

Trixie I hope your cycle is nice and short for you to start soon.

Good luck at your appointment Lozza - good you've stated the ball rolling now.

Bean an IVF virgin still so can't advise but sounds like they are positive about it - thinking of you.

How are you doing banana??

Nothing to report from me!

lucieloos · 14/09/2016 09:00

Sammy, I will have a chat with dh about the betas I don't really want to get them done but I'm just thinking it might be the thing to do. I also wouldn't mind getting my progesterone checked as well just to make sure it makes high enough. Ok will post the pic from today 7dp5dt if you want to see Smile

Yay Lucie, congratulations . Fab news. Hope your doing well banana and of course everyone else too.

JustTrixie · 14/09/2016 10:07

Wow Lucie!!! I am so so happy to check in and read this news Grin what a lovely line!! Crossing everything that this one is the one x x

JustTrixie · 14/09/2016 10:26

Thanks Star, glad you've started therapy, I hope it helps. Really fed up at work at the moment which isn't helping and just finding it quite hard to cope with everything in general. I had a session with the counsellor yesterday and am going back in November, just trying to keep busy and not to think about it too much in the meantime.

Banana, really hoping we see a BFP from you within the next few days.

bananafish81 · 14/09/2016 10:35

lucie absolutely no doubt about that line! Absolutely over the moon for you

lozza are you on metformin already? I assume you know about eating low GL and all that jazz if you've known about PCOS for a while. Inositol (I use inofolic sachets) is worth taking if you're PCOS. Good luck with the GP appointment!

friends when I was pregnant I had cramping so bad it woke me up in the night and literally took my breath away - made me feel nauseous and had to do some deep breathing until it passed. Consultant said this was entirely normal as the uterus was stretching (I was like, what's it doing down there, renovations?!) and to take paracetamol and drink plenty of water.

bean that sounds like a very solid plan of action - everything crossed that this elicits different results this time round. How's the d/r going?

trixie sorry to hear you're having a tough time IRL - hope you can be kind to yourselfFlowers

star hope you find counselling helpful. This shit is really, really hard - all and any support can only be a good thing

brenna I saw that too. Another thing to bash us barrens over the head with! Acute stress can delay ovulation which might mean wonky timing if you think your fertile time is different to what it actually is, and chronic stress can affect thyroid function - but I prefer to think about it the way my Dr explained it: stress doesn't cause infertility, but infertility causes stress! Fecundity rates aren't different in war zones, and sadly women get pregnant from horrific experiences like rape. I asked my Dr if the physical stress of uncontrolled pain (ie cortisol levels through the roof) could affect implantation and he said no, the supraphysiological effects wouldn't make any difference.

Nothing much to report here. Made sure I flushed away my FMU when I had a 5am wee this morning so I couldn't test. Will do a FRER tomorrow (7dp5dt). If it's negative will ask for a blood test so we don't have to order more meds just so I can keep pissing on sticks over the weekend

Bricking it

Lozza398 · 14/09/2016 11:46

banana I'd read about inositol before but if I'm honest I've never taken it. I know it's in pregnacare conception vitamins but I was told not to bother with them as they are expensive and you mainly need folic acid. If you reckon they are worth the investment then I'd happily give them a go?

Also not on metformin yet! Was guessing that might be first treatment?

MPP81 · 14/09/2016 11:51

Oh my god, Lucie, that is AMAZING news!! How on earth did you keep that to yourself yesterday? I am so, so happy and excited for you. A fantastic line!!! :-)

Sorry for the absence, everyone. We moved house on the 2nd, and due to a couple of issues, we only got our broadband connected last night. I dont sign in to mumsnet on my phone as I tend to get dodgy pop-ups, so I had to be a bit patient.

Banana, I have everything crossed for your testing tomorrow. Thinking of you!

Welcome Paige, though sorry you find yourself here. It cant be long til your first appointment now? Hope you are feeling ok.

Mrsren how are the renovations coming along? Hope they are providing a good distraction until your appointment!

Congratulations Friends!!

Hi Lozza and welcome, though sorry you find yourself here.

Trixie, sorry to hear things are difficult. I hope you are ok.

Maple how are you doing? Any sign of AF?

Brenna and Star hope you are both doing ok.

Bean we also had good fertilisation with ICSI. Keeping everything crossed for good results for you.

AFM, had my viability scan last week and saw a heartbeat, so feeling cautiously optimistic but still a bit of a nervous wreck!

Waves to anyone I missed! Hope you're all doing well!

lucieloos · 14/09/2016 12:01

Thanks everyone still hasn't sunk in yet!

Trixie, sorry you are going through a difficult spell. I have felt the same on and off over the last 18 months. Some periods have been horrendous but nothing can last forever right. I hope the counselling helps and then you have your fet to focus on shortly. I hope putting back 2 embryos will be the lucky key for you.

Banana, arrgghh so excited for you for tomorrow. You have left no stone unturned and have done absolutely everything this time around. I really can't see why you won't be getting that bfp tomorrow Smile

MPP, thanks lovely. I'm just so nervous after everything that happened last time I don't want us to get our hopes up about anything as I know how easily it can all go wrong. Dh found it really hard last time too and I don't want to raise his hopes again if it's going to end up being a chemical or something. The line got a lot darker this morning though. I was going to wait until I've done a digi tomorrow or Friday to tell him but not sure I can wait that long! That's amazing news on your viability scan, must be a bit of a relief to get that out of the way. Will you have any more private scans before 12 weeks? Hope you are all sorted in the new house now.

OP posts:
MPP81 · 14/09/2016 12:19

I can understand you wanting to be cautious, Lucie. You've been through so much. I have everything crossed that this is it for you. I dont know if we will have another private scan yet. At my scan at CRGW, they said they usually recommend another, two weeks after the first, but we've been so hectic getting moved in that I thought I'd wait and see how I feel. If I start getting really panicky then I will phone and book one, but otherwise I might try and wait for the 12 week one. We are just about settled now, thank you :-) I love our new home!

Paige43 · 14/09/2016 12:21

Congratulations Lucia xxx

lucieloos · 14/09/2016 12:22

Aww glad you love your new home and you are all nice and settled now! My first one will be around 7 weeks on the nhs if we get that far and then I would probably do another at 10 weeks just because I don't think I would be able to wait that long without knowing. Glad everything is going well for you Smile

MrsRen · 14/09/2016 12:25

Trixie and Star - glad the therapy is helping, a friend of mine has had some for other reasons and it seems to have helped her also

Banana - fingers crossed for you!

MPP - We spent 7h painting our hall last Sat and will need to do the same this weekend! I seem to be able to distract myself on evenings/weekends it's just during the working day I find particularly hard!

Fingers crossed for all of you having first appointments and scans soon - hoping all is positive :-)

AFM - CD 25 and 15 days POv - normally I'm 28 days which would be sat - not hopeful this month as we only managed to dtd once at the right time due to my odd cycle last month and early ov this month. I've been needing to pass water a lot particularly before bed and have been shattered and spotty but it's probably just progesterone!

Paige43 · 14/09/2016 12:26

Hi MPP :). I'm doing good and keep busy x
