Can anyone please post any success stories about conceiving despite issues with their DPs sperm? Mine has poor morphology (less than 2% normal) and we're trying Fertilaid. I'd love to hear that other people got their BFPs despite these issues to help keep my optimism alive! Otherwise I'm happy to support others on the same journey. Thank you in advance.

Eurgh. Caved at 8dpo and bfn of course. Any news from you ladies? Have just read a book called Motherhoodwinked which was like reading my own diary. It's not a happy take but it made me feel understood.

Ha ha geeup. I tested 8,9,10,and 11 and of course a BFN :-) bloodtest confirmed ovulation,so still trying to think were in with a chance. I started yoga too,I love a good read will have to try that one.:-)

star1980 · 17/05/2016 20:47

Ah, sorry for the bfns ladies Sad But! You're not out until af shows, as they say, so you never know.
I'm just 2dpo but no chance for me as my partner's been away for the past week and only got back last night. Just seeing out the two week wait then starting Clomid.
Thanks for the recommendation, I might try that book.

geeup · 17/05/2016 20:57

If you want a good book (that's nothing to do with infertility!), read I am Pilgrim. I took it on holiday - such a page turner! Bit of a thriller bit of a spy thing.

BFN on cycle day 12 too. Grrr it's so frustrating, I wish I knew what was up and how to fix it. Confused

geeup · 18/05/2016 13:23

Ah friends we're mere days apart in our cycle. I'm 9dpo and have avoided testing today. Will try and hold out till Sunday. Testing so early seems like a silly exercise to have fallen back into - I haven't done a pregnancy test in a few months seeing as it's nearly been a year ttc and the sperm issues etc. But this month we tried so damn hard on the BDing you kind of fall back into optimism don't you?! I have that kind of low down pressure/almost cramps which I get pre AF so defo not holding out much hope. Just wish I could avoid the lap and dye!!

OP posts:
friends123 · 18/05/2016 14:34

It's not something I normally do but I bought a batch of 50 a few month ago so you can imagine. I have af symptoms too; bad back, cramps, very tender breast. My cm always goes watery right before af is due too so I think its definitely on its way.
You certainly do geeup, it's amazing how your mood can change from one day to another isn't it. I read that entire book I bought In a week, it's surprising the emphasis they give to stress. So i really do need to take note. I really think having a lap and dye will be good news for you, I know it probably sounds scary but least you can get some answers and rule things out. My appointment is in two weeks and I think that's stressing me out, not knowing what to do for the best and that. If only we had a crystal ball hey so we could see the future......

geeup · 18/05/2016 17:53

You're right about the lap and dye maybe giving some answers which would be amazing. I'm really scared about telling work I need to be off for a week or two though as I'm pretty new in my role. Don't really want to give them the honest reason either. Anyone else had this predicament? Thought I could maybe say it's an op for "gynae" reasons but I guess my (female, recently married) boss would probably guess anyway...

Eurgh 9dpo and started spotting brown DC :( this happened last month and I came on 10dpo. Just spent the night having dinner with two pregnant friends. SadSadSadSad oh well blood test cd3 and the surgery pre assessment. Onto science....

friends123 · 19/05/2016 09:42

Morning geeup, i started spotting too this morning. :-(. I'm due today. I think they say brown spotting is from the previous cycle don't they. Do you often have just a 10 day luteal Phase?.
I'm pretty sure I've never had cycle day 3 blood test, however I think I've had all the blood done that's needed, just on cycle day 21 with progesterone again all these was done over 12 months ago apart from progesterone.
2 1/2 years, 1 1/2 off timing intercourse. With no obvious problems I think its time we had science help too.

I haven't told my boss either, I have a male boss so it's not something I want to share. So far I've been taking time of as holiday but that's not ideal either.... Good luck geeup, i hope we have something to celebrate soon.

geeup · 19/05/2016 11:27

Is that right re the brown blood being from your last cycle - that's interesting. I usually spot for about 24 hours before I come on properly and I count cd1 as first red blood so not there yet (bet I will as soon as I finish typing!). Hoping it'll hold out till tomorrow whichll make Monday cd3 for my blood test. No idea what it's for though.
I'm sorry it's already been so long for you Friends. It's been a year for us in June but the whole time I've been doing opks and timed BDing (I was ready before my OH to start trying so had done my research!). It feels like a long time indeed. Never thought I'd get to this point and I sometimes wonder how many months/years are ahead.
I'm very glad I started this thread though and met you lovely ladies. Makes it easier to keep doing what we're doing...FlowersFlowersFlowers

That's what it said in that book I mentioned geeup, it also said that really at least 10 days are needed after ovulation for implantation to occur. Hope you don't mind me saying but that's the reason I was asking as it might be worth mentioning it to them.

Well other then progesterone, i had my androgen, thyroid, prolactin, FSH,LH among others that I can't really remember, they suggest day 3 but I'm pretty sure I had them day 21. Are they doing blood at the doctors or the hospital?
Geeup, we had a year of just not trying and seeing what happened.I wasn't stressed nor worried in fact we was just excited and that was it. After that year mark each month as felt as bad the the first, I felt as bad 13 months In as I do 25 months in, maybe just a tad more obsessive.

We were brushed off for soo long because we are both youngish.
I'm really glad you started this thread too and that I came across it on my bid for answers, my OH is fab but he doesn't understand how it feel to see your period or the fact you know it's coming haha..

It won't matter too much if it's cycle day 4 I wouldn't imagine.

geeup · 19/05/2016 15:20

What was the book again friends? Was it "it all starts with the egg"?

OP posts:
friends123 · 19/05/2016 17:58

It was called fertility and assisted conception by zita west.

geeup · 19/05/2016 18:20

Great. Will take a look on my kindle. Thanks.

Well that's me out, at least I know my timing is right I suppose.

geeup · 20/05/2016 11:34

Sorry friends. So shit every time isn't it. I'm still spotting (3rd day) on 11dpo so not out yet. Split between being entirely unsurprised and just waiting for AF to kick in (feeling crappy and "heavy" still) and keeping a tiny bit of hope as usually I only spot for a day but usually not as early. I can't believe I'm about to say this because everytime I've ever thought this it's been bullsh*t but secretly hoping its implantation bleeding (but I know it won't be).

OP posts:
geeup · 20/05/2016 11:36

Ps obviously I have done a pg test and its negative (very) so give it an hour or two and I'll be joining you in sure. Angry

OP posts:
friends123 · 20/05/2016 11:52

I do the same, however you never know fingers crossed for you that it is implantation bleeding. I really hate the whole frigging world today, I've been balling my eyes out , had an argument with OH and having to be in work too. Just soo glad it's finally Friday!

geeup · 20/05/2016 12:06

Definitely glad it's Friday. Hope you have something nice planned to cheer you up (Chinese, wine and cheese night etc).

So sorry for AF friends.
Geeup, you never know you might still get a bfp. If not, they say that you are more fertile in the few months after a lap + dye so this could be it for you.
Friends, what next for you? Are you seeing a Dr? Any treatment plans? It's been so long for us all, it's so frustrating!
I'm feeling rather chilled out at the moment. Knowing that it's not possible this month is so liberating!
Hope you both have something lovely planned for the weekend. Maybe a little pick me up friends? Wine
